REmco was born on January 25, 2000 in Schepdaal, Belgium, about 10 kilometers from the capital Brussels. He is the son of the also cyclist Patrick Evenepoel, a professional cyclist in the first part of the 90s running for the Collstrop, participating in the 1993 return to Spain and winning the wallonie grand prix that same year. As a curious fact, he was a companion of Adrie Vanderpoel, father of Mathieu Van Der Poel, another of the young people who has surprised him by his early explosion on the bicycle.
The story of Remco Evenepoel tells that from a young age he showed his love for the sport, and from the age of 5 he was part of the Anderletch football school, renowned club of the Belgian first division. And there he developed his sports career until 2012 when he went to the Netherlands to play in the lower divisions of PSV Eindhoven. He returned to Anderletch in 2014 and was under the orders of Stéphane Stassin, former professional player and youth director, who highlights his persistence, his ability to train to the maximum and his work ethic among his virtues. So much so that he became his right hand and the captain of the sub 15.
His trainers had problems with him because it was impossible for him to stop training, and even at the end of the sessions he would take his bike to go for days of up to 100 km in order to “let go of the legs.” One of his teammates Lars Coveliers, highlights his speed and endurance, it was not very easy to avoid him, and when he could finally pass him, he was again in front of the ball. All those virtues led him to the Belgium Under 16 team with Joric Vandendriessche as coach, who remembers him as a ruthless defender who had to go 5 times to get rid of him.

Totalmente, ha demostrado ser un super humano, tiene una potencia fisica de locos, su gran prueba de fuego es demostrar su resistencia, y lo tiene que hacer en una de las tres grandes y eso lo tiene que mostrar en la tercera semana, alli son muy, pero muy pocos los que lo logran, tiene todo para lograrlo, pero la carrera lo pondra en su real sitio
Es sin duda un pequeño "Monstruo" del ciclismo que empieza a nacer...ese nombre va hacer el dolor de cabeza de muchos y alegría para otros...!! No olvidemos es nombre...!
Para mi este muchacho va a ser una leyenda del ciclismo. Un grande como Eddy Merckx!

Para lo que lleva montando en bici, sus numeros son sorprendentes, sinembargo le falta someter su organismo a una carrera de tres semanas no hay que madurarlo viche, ojala sus entrenadores lo sepan guiar.

Con las ayudas de hoy seguro que si va a lograr ganar vueltas, pero no compararlo con ciclistas de otras épocas donde corrían muchos más kilómetros y con mucho menos tecnología, conclusión personal, mucho mejor los ciclistas de antes pero mucho mejor
