I completed San Andreas to 100% on iOS. It battered the battery of my iPhone 12 Pro but it was totally worth it! I got used to the on screen controls, but it’s not the same as a good old PS controller
@ImNerpAndStuff yeah, the bugs are annoying af. I autosaved the game by certain start points. I also had to replay successful missions due to the game crashing. It took me a couple of months and I roughly played it for 4-6 hours a day

The game is 6 years old and is very demanding of modern mobile hardware, had the game been programmed to make use of the current gens cpu and high speed ram these issues would not be present. An hours worth of play uses between 18-24% of a pro models battery when in contrast cod mobile uses 12% on medium graphics with a high frame rate an all visual features enabled. Plus you need to bear in mind that cod mobile demands a constant upload and download over a broadband connection. Honestly, iPhones have an amazing battery life, apple silicon has surpassed the major players in the mobile and consumer computer industry. Mah are not a fair metric to use, if you were to compare the life of an iPhone to an android mobile of the same size the iPhone would surpass its battery in a stress test. Multiple tech RUclipsrs have pitted the iPhone against androids in a test of battery life and the iPhone always wins these days.
The only problem I've had with all 3 gta mobile ports is the draw distance, I guess pc and console have the same draw distance too, but in all 3 you can literally see the cars popping into existence in front of you. Sometimes in vice city if I'm driving a fast car a car spawns in right in front of me and I end up crashing into them. I think they should have increased the draw distance for high end devices
I use a PS4 controller on android, controls are great, max resolution it even looks halfway decent for something this ancient, classic game. You can even mirror it to the TV if you don't like the screen size. Vice City is 5 dollars, dirt cheap.

Do you mean with a cable or chromecast, because if you meant with a chromecast the input delay kinda makes it unplayable. Also san andreas doesn't work on android anymore

Thanks for this. After what happened with the "Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition" compilation, I am now preferring the mobile versions of the 3 classic GTA games (GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas).
The funny thing is that, the people that made the Definitive Edition, also made these Mobile ports. 😆😆😆 The also did Bully Anniversary Edition which is a pretty good Mobile port of Bully Scholarship Edition.

GTA San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, and ChinaTown Wars does not work in the Google Play Store. Vice City and III does still work though which is Odd.
@UnjustifiedRecs I have a Google Pixel 5. Unless you have an older device from the time the games released on Android it makes sense they still work for you. But on newer devices, the games are unplayable. Read the reviews yourself on the Google Play Store.

That's why I bought the old versions (in the rockstar collection) from the app store recently. I don't want to risk losing those forever and being stuck with the definitive edition versions.

Not at first, but for a while before the definitive edition came out I recall San Andreas getting the mobile port thrown into the pc version replacing the original one that came out in 05. They took a mobile port from pc and put it on pc breaking it essentially when comparing it to the original.

The definition editions of the trilogy games are on mobile now through Netflix and ironically I think they play better than their console counterparts, but even then it seems like the original mobile ports is better. At least on mobile you have the choice of original or remake, and that's great but it shouldn't just be an iPhone/android option. Even on mobile, the DE of the trilogy looks off and the graphics don't look like they were made to fit in with the tone and art style of the game. The character models look high res and all the other stuff looks basic so its kinda off-putting and I say that as someone who never played any of those games on PS2/When they originally came out. I do however, have fun and enjoy these new flawed ports, even though ik it's not the best way to expirence them. I'm having fun so at the end of the day, that's what matters to me (but I totally understand why someone might not like these remade versions).

The driving in vc mobile is just plain bad It's soon freaking stiff and rough to turn even with bikes the pcj600 can't even turn properly The rest two have excellent driving the best driving is in liberty city stories

Because when using a wireless controller, the screen control disappeared. Although it's better to play without touching the screen.
