  • Although I was not feeling that great properly reviewing my bike yet, I think it’s time to give my noob’s perspective. Please follow this if you want to buy your first bike.
Never been on a motorcycle before and during lockdown I decided to learn how to ride. This is my journey and my thoughts.

Great video! Looking forward to the service video. I’m still waiting on my service too. Loving the bike, looking forward to seeing how it changes/improves after the service 👍🏻

Motorcycle height: Your mechanic is right about the potential pitfalls of modifying the suspension. However, getting things set right can greatly improve your ability to control your bike.
Handling: Suspension settings differ from one rider to the next... there's no one best set-up. I made considerable suspension changes on my 2020 Svartpilen 401. As a former AMA pro Flattracker, the primary concern for good handling was to get the front to rear balance and weight transfer correct. Front to rear balance is for equal front to rear driff, and weight transfer is for traction off the turns. When front brakes were used on dirt track TT and Road Racing, the front end dive became another concern. Considering the Svartpilen's fixed footpeg location, the bike is closer to a Road Racer than a Flattrack style bike. Nevertheless, whether Flattrack or Road Race, ride height, spring compression and dampening were the most common modifications.
You seem like a smart rider; I see nothing wrong with trying different spring and dampening settings... It's a skill like learning how to tune then play a guitar... it takes a while, but the rewards are great when you get it,

Thank you for the feedback. Everything you say makes sense. When I’ll feel more comfortable I’ll definitely start adjusting my bike to my style, weight and preferences or at least experiment a bit. Hopefully I’ll not outgrown her so fast. In any case and if I buy another one it will be the 401 :)

@@vanyer401 If your desire is to become a capable rider, then learn to get the most out of what you have. So, unless you need to commute on the M roads, stick with the 125

    Another nice video, thanks!
Do you think the rear brake maybe feels a little soft to accommodate the new rider? I.e. not so easy to tap and slow down by mistake?
As a learner, the workings of a bike aren't natural to me yet so I know I'm riding with my toes close to the lever, which risks applying pressure when I didn't mean to.
Just a thought. Thanks for the vid, I always enjoy them, especially your honesty. 🤣

Actually, I think the rear brake feels stiff but I’m guessing we are saying the same thing. Still though, I wish it was more progressive. I absolutely agree though that the “Way” doesn’t come natural :) Thank you so much for your kind words!

Ahoi Vanyer , fantastic ride through London , with Your GORGEOUS Husqvarna !!! I love all HUSQVARNAS !!! Do You think the 125 cc is worth the Money and is the best Choice in the 125 cc Class ?!? Did You ever tested the "Highspeed" ?!? :-) I hope the 125 cc Svartpilen will come as a Vitpilen ?! Quit not shure if I should wait till Summer 2022 or take the Svartpilen in Spring and than retrofit it into a Vitpilen?! :-)
Or I´ll buy an old , "very fast" HONDA CBR 125 R J39/J50 in an extrem good Shape , because my BRIXTON Haycroft is running max. 96 km/h via GPS on a straight/level Street. :-( I´m always waiting 4 new Vids , because I love London and Your Motor Bike !!! :-) Take Care ! Kind Regards....

Thank you mate! She is a beauty isn’t she? Regarding the Vitpilen - Svartpilen comparison I can only say that I sat in both of them in the shop and the lower, aggressive position of the Vitpilen is not for me. In the svartpilen, I immediately felt comfortable. About the best in class, I’ve no idea because my experience is limited but I can safely say that the Svartpilen is easy to ride if you’re a noob :) I think it’s perfect for the city but I don’t think she’s better than many other choices there. The price is steep but if you consider the perks, ABS, suspension etc, the price makes sense. In reality she has everything exactly like the 401 except the engine and maybe the quick shifter? In my opinion, she’s also the prettier in class and the “head turning” factor is through the roof!
