@Gustavo C Vieira I'm a young man and I dont really feel the role model "void", but i understand your point even tho i also dont feel this anti-manly man idea in my life, at least not as bad as you seem to sugest.
But either way I still dont understand how someone who has seen the movie can look up in any way to the character of Patrick Bateman. He is an enormous ball of insecurity, desperate for attention. Repeatedly virtue signal but really only cares about status, devoid of any moral or value. The point of his character is that he is all looks no substance, his morning routine his obsession over his look, his apartement, is so caricatural, it represent the shallowness of the materialistic goals that today society associate to success. And yet it seems that it is this shallow and fake part of his character that seem to be looked up as some sort of ideal. It's a great and thought provoking movie, and you're definitly meant to relate to Patrick Bateman but if you think he represents someone you should look up to, you misunderstood the movie, he is a warning .
