This is Awesome! Im trying to make a somewhat similar DataPack myself but you are way way above my level. Can you give some insight on to how this works or where I can learn this kind of stuff? Im trying to decipher the files but i haven't learned many of the things your using. I don't mean to bother you but this is the closest thing I've found to what I'm trying to make... a SkyBlock world that generates structures (not just structure bounding boxes the actual buildings) and biomes . So far I think the best way to make it is generate the structures on Barrier blocks and then delete the barriers as the player gets close because you can't generate structures on air blocks. I think modifying this could accomplish that well.
Hmmm. I was going to say that already exists (BluePsychoRanger on Modrinth or any of the carpet sky mod stuff). But what you’re saying is actually just all of the structures floating instead of just some of them. Hmmm. Skyblock Infinite does something similar to that too, but maybe it’s not the same. All they need to spawn is a high enough light level and most of them need grass blocks, so you need to convert the rooted dirt from the azelea trees into regular dirt by hoeing it and then letting the 1 grass block you were given (under the starter chest) spread to the dirt. Passive mob spawning is pretty slow too.
The eventual progression path is to get water from a fisherman villager trade (cod bucket). You get the villager from curing a zombie villager with a golden apple and a weakness potion thrown by a witch at the zombie villager. You get the gold for the golden apple from smelting gold armor dropped by overworld mobs.
If you load the data pack and open the advancements menu, the advancements give you hints. But, the way you start is digging out stone with your hands to get mobs to spawn. And then once you get a skeleton to spawn and it drops a bone, you can bonemeal the moss and get an azalea tree.
