      Short answer, it depends on alot of stuff. For QBs, I'd guess about 50mil.
      For everybody else 28m.
      But again, it depends on;
      How much the cap goes up each year,
      What position,
      how many consecutive years has the player been tagged,
      And what percentage of the contracts the top five paid players are getting is counted as salary and not signing bonus.
      ***
      Long answer;
      If you assume the salary cap goes up 10% each year for the next 5 years it'll be at 410mil.
      If you assume that the top five players in the position are only getting 20% of their deal as a signing bonus,
      If you assume that most of the top five players at each non QB position are signed for 8-10% of the salary cap, and the top QBs sign for 16%.
      Then it be 50-55mil to tag a QB in 2028, and 26-32mil to tag anyone else for 1 year.

    They offered him 27-28m. He's not worth 30m and AJ Brown money, he's not a top 5 and this coming from a 49er fan. He's only hurting himself if he holdsout like Bosa did last year.

      He seems like a really skilled receiver who’s also greatly benefitting from having many other very talented playmakers on the team.
      I just…don’t think Aiyuk would contribute like a typical #1 on a different team. I think it’d be a mistake to pay him like a #1 receiver

      For transcendent talents like the top 10 WRs in the game (Hill, JJ, Chase, etc.) the big contracts make sense because they can be game changers on offense. Idk if I'm convicted that Aiyuk is a game changer though

I dont think the team going to let Aiyuk dictate the terms of the deal if it means hurting the team chances for a ring.

      He Did have his best year last year I believe he deserves to paid more then Amon St. Brown BUT less then Jefferson...I say between $29 and $30/per year... I just hope he does come back and they find a middle ground...

    As a niner fan, they should go up to $28 to match Deebo. If he doesn’t want that, then we got two rookies who can step in. Love BA but we got too many top tier weapons to pay him $30 mil a year. Offer him a two year with a player option on the second. He’s protected if he gets injured and after the season he can seek a contract with whoever.

      Rbs had a reset because the position became easy to fill for cheap
      QBs that only works if you hit a home run on a rookie contact. Soon as they hit on that they are going to 45-50 m per year If they are real good
      And you aren’t winning with a crap qb. You can find the 30th best rb and still have him be productive no problem.

Aiyuk and his agent just wanted to wait till Justin Jefferson signed his extension and thought that would force 49ers to pay Aiyuk in that range. Aiyuk and his agent overplayed their hand and now resorting to crying on social media thinking another team will save him and pay him Jefferson money. They’ll realize nobody gone pay any WR Justin Jefferson money right now. Justin Jefferson is the cap for WRs this year.

      if you're trying to win a super bowl, it's not ideal to put a guy Ilona the field hurt halfway through season, and expect him to keep playing when he looks worse. you're risking a player like Justin Jefferson who sat, and may have played if his money was already settled

    He's a good player but his value is at its highest on the 49ers. He wouldn't be a dominant #1 WR on any other team without that supporting cast.

      Niner fan here, and I agree 💯! He is on a team where everyone is getting paid… but maybe 2 players that are currently over 30, barely. Bosa and Williams. Everyone else is low to high 20s which was offered to aiyuk. And Aiyuk is not a game changer like Bosa and Trent, like CMC and Deebo… just because Jefferson got 35 does not mean Aiyuk needs 30 plus. Dude has a “big head” and I hope he gets humbled, one way or the other.

      @HowardThePug that depends. If the guys asking for more have been around longer, then probably not. If I'm the older guy and making less than the younger guy, I might say something then. But just because one guy makes X dollars doesn't mean you have to right now, too. I guess then comes back to who dictates that value. Should there be a group in the nfl that prices every players worth and teams can match or give more or less? I mean aiyuks value to the 49ers is definitely going to be different than a team like Washington or indy. So idk. I do think him making that video making it seem like the 49ers was kinda a low blow

You would give aiyuk Justin Jefferson money if you already have weapons in place. That's why I said teams also dictate the value you're worth to that team. He shouldn't be making the same as Davante Adam or Tyreek Hill.

      He’s one of the best run blocking WRs in the league, had 1342 yards last year, and what’s with these arbitrary thresholds you’re setting. Never had 80 catches lol he’s had 78 and 75 back to back years and would’ve had 80 this year if he didn’t miss 1 game.

      Players don't get paid on what they've done, they get paid for future production. Best blocking WR in the NFL n avg. 18 yards a catch last yr. 6' at least 200 lbs. I'd say he's worth $30 mill with helping Purdy progress

      @@berry5557 The marks for a great wide receiver over the years largely have been 100 catches, 1000 yards, 10TDs. I said 80 because thats an even smaller hurdle that he still hasnt cleared. And saying he missed one game when the games have been increased by 1 since these numbers have been a staple is irrelevant. 2 decent years is not enough to make you one of the highest paid at your position. 2 great years maybe but his years were not great. They were decent. If those are the numbers he continues to put up after he gets paid like hes one of the best at his position then its a giant overpay to me. Noone is ever going to consider you a top 5 WR if those numbers are what youre putting up. Those are the numbers of a great #2 guy.

    There is talk of Williams from Detroit for Aiyuk, and stay in SF. This put my mind at ease, no possible way Detroit does that. I hope no one picks Williams in fantasy. :)

    BA is a great player, but he only had such a good year last year because Deebo was seen as our star receiver eating the double teams and George was injured for a large part of this season. If he chases the paycheck he's not going to look as good in another team especially one w/o other threats.
