    This is awesome. Im using 3ds max and Sketchup for archviz primarily but this application had its own areas to be used. And more specific ones, for now at least.

    I think the app is very promising. I've been playing with it the whole day. An option to call for a pop-up text windows (next to each of the UI groups of tools) that explain the usage would be really helpful. Even if I understand info in your video tutorials, I soon get lost again because the UI is different from other most commonly used 3D programs. Things like visible world center, snapping to different views when holding shift or alt, Select All and Delete All would be really helpful. Rectangular and free-form selection is also something very useful. Anyway, great job. Fantastic. Take care.

      I just want to add a few more suggestion. First, the ability to frame the object that artist is currently editing. It is easy to get lost when there are tons of objects in the scene. Second, an outliner that displays all the objects as a list or at least all the link groups so they can be set to visible/invisible and easier to delete if needed. Third, I like the idea that you can hover an object and rotate around it with the middle mouse button, but I think that what ZBrush has is even easier to use. You click on object with the RMB and than you can rotate around it without having to hover it. This also helps when you want to mark a certain object or are to frame it (F) easier. Cheers!

    Very cool stuff! Have you considered a transform Gizmo like Zbrush or Blender? I have a hard time moving things precisely in Clavicula right now. Keep up the great work!

    Hi. Great app indeed! Do you plan to export obj with vertex colors ? It would be so useful. Or UVs ? Because this format allows this and can be very versatile.
    Or are there importers for your personal .n format open to other software ?
    Thanks a lot for your interest. Nice job !

    • @Clavicula
      @Clavicula  Год назад

      The main problem is that OBj files cannot hold vertex colors, so I made a workaround to export the vertex material as textures - but it has a rather limited use because of how the textures are formed. But I will be adding UVs and texture painting and then it will have a direct export to OBJ + textures.
      The .n format is limited to Clavicula mainly because it holds a lot of information that would be hard to convert to other software without some sustained development ( Arrays / Snakes / Compounds / Shader Layers / Object Shaders - all these require different structures and code / shader handling abilities that other software doesn't have, or has it in a totally different way).

    Great app! Are you planning to change or overhaul the UI in the future? I feel like the UI is the last threshold between the massive potential for this tool and connecting it to users with industry standard UI experience.

    • @Clavicula
      @Clavicula  Год назад +1

      there will definitely be changes, from Neobarok 1.* to Neobarok 2.* to Clavicula there have already been a few. I'm just not sure how they would look yet since I don't have this on the TODO list - functionality and features are still lacking in many important areas
      I already rewrote it for ImGui to get it into VR so no big change in the near future
      also not sure what industry standard you mean :) ZBrush, Blender, Max, Maya they all got pretty different UIs and I'm reasonably ok in any of them - well, more or less
      and the functionality for the main things (adding objects, transforming them, sculpting or painting) is pretty straight forward, but, like in any software, it takes some time to get used to specifics and extra functionality

      @@Clavicula I think the Clavicula UI looks good. I like the overall icon heavy language, especially on the left panel. The less text, the better, in my opinion.
      As a new user, it's my job to learn the language of the software, and if the icons are clever and tell the story of the tool and the panels are arranged intuitively (like Cinema 4D), then I can quickly start using the application for simple things, and grow my "vocabulary" by learning more features as I continue. Documentation and more demos like this video will help tremendously.
      One thing I would suggest is the ability to change the font of the UI. I'm not at my Windows machine now but I don't remember seeing that when I explored interface.
      As many users have noted and requested, some "industry standard" features are very much needed. Like transformation/rotation/scale gizmos. World grid. Ability to orbit without tumbling all over space (like zBrush default). I'm happy to hear you have these features on your to-do list!
      I'll say is...this application looks great! I'm really excited it exists and I'm eager to see it grow and develop. But I had to search around for a way to donate and support you. I feel you should at least mention the ability to donate or make it more obvious to users, so you can continue to develop Clavicula.
      Are you able to work on it full time? With enough donations, that could happen. Please consider adding a message at the end of your videos about donations to support you. Also, a way to create a subscription style donation option would be a good idea. For instance, I've donated to developers during the alpha and beta phases of their paid plug-ins through a Patreon subscription for instance, then stopped once the software launched.
      Thanks for all your innovation. I'm very excited about Clavicula!

    Fantastic! Did you ever consider to bring it into blender and work with them together?

    • @Clavicula
      @Clavicula  Год назад

      Someone was already inspired by this and is creating a similar tool in Blender (I assume as a plugin). I'm focusing on Clavicula to get this even further. I don't have much experience with Blender so it would be a side project in itself to implement SDFs in Blender.

      you will be able with Blender 2.6 to do some of this using SDF geometry nodes, so this is definetly the direction Blender is going modeling wise

    Does SDF use GPU? I just have 35-40 fps when Having GTX 660TI on that demo scene, my CPU is intel core I5-9400f.

    • @Clavicula
      @Clavicula  Год назад

      Everything that renders in Clavicula is basically GPU, but SDFs are also being raymarched and computed on GPU on the fly. So the more you have in an SDF tree and the bigger the screen coverage, the slower the rendering will get. You can use RenderTab/View/Halfsize to reduce render resolution to half while modeling and also decrease the number of SDF iterations in the ShaderTab.

    Awesome Update!
    By the way how do I UP the resolution when I export to obj?
    Is a 1 to 1 view/resolution possible between Clavicula and other aps? :)

    • @Clavicula
      @Clavicula  Год назад +1

      you just need to increase the voxel resolution per SDF tree (right click on any SDF in a tree and decrease voxel size)
      1 to 1 is not really possible as mesh export since in the viewport the rendering doesn't use meshes, and it has pixel accuracy (so you can zoom in a lot)

    Hello. Are you still planning to improve уthe program?
    Do you listen to the wishes of users?
    The program is very good, thank you for it. I hope you will not abandon it and continue to work on its improvement, make it intuitive and convenient.
    My wishes:
    * Multiple viewports
    * Home grid. Grid for the current plane.
    * Manipulators for transformations.
    * Numeric input for all parameters and transformations.
    * Stop rendering if there are no changes on the screen and the user does not change anything.
