Arizona has a HUGE charging site in Quartzsite. Between Phoenix and the California border. 2 sites in the area. The 'old' one has 36 chargers. The new one has 84.
Actually, counting 8 V2's and another 16 V3's across the road, I think there are a total of 108 Superchargers there now. Have to count them all next time I'm there.
The US needs more large sites with convenience stores in the same area. They also need to future proof and put in some higher capacity chargers. It would have been nice if Tesla had moved forward with the battery swapping stations, as another way to get a charged battery on long road trips.
Video and audio quality is great IMO. Amazing that no equipment other than an iPhone was used. Buc-ee's traffic is insane, glad to see huge number of charging stalls so we don't have to wait to charge.
For those not from Texas, this is not surprising to anyone. What Branden did not show you is that this Bucee's gas station also has 56 gas pumps in the same parking lot, and ~50 individual bathroom stalls, every single one cleaner than yours at home.
That’s an amazing site and cool to see so many EVs charging. High visibility stations and lots of cars makes it easier for non-EV drivers to see both the infrastructure at work and that it’s common for people to use it. tbh, couldn’t tell the difference between the 16 and 14. Enjoyed it, regardless.
@@brandenflasch I sure thought so, yet in No. VA and driving south on I95, I seldom see any sites with ADA stalls. And then we have the issue of lack of firm approved EV charging space requirements/specs. Apparently the Access board doc on this subject is only "guidance". I know of one near by EVgo site that has what appears be 2 ADA size spaces they have far too much slope and the bollards around the dispenser would inhibit wheelchair access.
Nice video! Love seeing more chargers getting installed especially as more EVs gain access. My local bu-cees just added a bunch of Version 4 stalls and it now has a total of 28 stalls. Charged my wifes Bolt their recently since they just got access 🙂
I would kind of like to see more 8 or 12 stall SC sites than the huge mega sites like this, but it is cool. I hate going to Buc-ees... always crazy getting in and out and usually just too many people. Obviously many people love it though.
Nice to see larger sites open up. I just wish they would design more pull through stalls similar to a gas station helps with EVs that are pulling trailers
Brandon, well you probably should’ve mentioned that the Mercedes chargers would certainly be delivering more power on an 800 V car like the Porsche Taycan, Lucid Air m, Hummer EV or any EGMP Kia, Hyundai or Genius vehicle. Probably worth the four cents a kilowatt hour as long as they do deliver the speeds they claim .
Informative video! I couldn’t hear any wind buffeting with the iPhone 16. Video was pretty good as well, but took the camera a bit to focus in on the ChargePoint equipment through the narrow passage.
Great to see Texas-size charging where it's needed, thanks. Video quality was excellent, sound a little choppy in places but seemed to hold up against the wind. Enjoy MOVE!
When did the Magic Docks on the version 3's go live - I was there in July and I don't remember there being magic docks there ( I might have missed them) and don't remember them showing on the TESLA super charger website. I thought the closest magic docks were up near Dallas fort worth at the time. I was driving a rented F-150 Lighting at the time - I am now one month into ownership of a used 2021 Model Y back in Maryland!!!!
Wow, 51 cents at Mercedes seems high. Here in SW Florida, our utility Florida Power and Light charges only $0.30. Sadly, they have no customer service on weekends & holidays.
Did I see $1.78 for regular unleaded? That’s crazy cheap, $4.59 here in California and I drive an id4 because of that. If gas was $1.78 I’d be hard pressed to buy an EV if it’s 50 ish cents a kWh since it would cost as much or more to drive an EV there. Trying not to be a hater since I love my EV.
Texas is miserable for EV owners who actually want to venture away from big cities and interstates. Check out how pathetic it is if you want to venture west to areas around Brownwood, Brady, Llano, and other communities. So Texas raised registration fees by $200 for EVs to help pay for state roads but they aren’t investing money on infrastructure so the EVs can actually charge and travel those roads.
Stalls? Bathrooms? A location which has a collection of EV chargers is called a CHARGING STATION. The individual chargers are calls CHARGING POINTS, or CHARGERS. I know, we all have to learn the new terminology. !

I'm assuming this is in HDR - it's eye-searingly bright on my TV.
New audio features on the 16 PM are nice for content creators. Video was excellent as well

I love the Buc-ees/Tesla partnership in TN, KY and SC where I usually travel. They typically have 24 stalls from my experience.
Excellent video and audio. I love that they provided extra space for some to facilitate accessibility for mobility impaired persons.
Required by law

Quartzite AZ is bigger. 84 stalls in one spot, and 36 more a couple of blocks away. And 4 EA stalls across the interstate.

Glad the Benzo chargers are back up. They were down for some time.
Just road-tripped my Rivian from Texas to Alabama, 4 of my 6 stops were at Bucee’s superchargers. 3 of the 4 sites were v4 posts.
There is a huge 70+ supercharging site planned for i95 in Virginia...near Ruther Glen. 72 stalls I believe..magicdock.

Glad
to see the magic docks active! Tesla has made sites with magic docks installed but not available for CCS use.

Great video Branden!
Quartzite, AZ is 84 stalls in it's single location, but Tesla has 120 stalls in town, and there are 6 RAN and 4 EA chargers as well.
Another informative video, Branden. The video and sound were good, but I don't know if I see or hear much of a difference from before. Safe travels!

Quartzite AZ has 98 stall tesla supercharger station!
Are they going to continue to install Magic Docks in the future?
I believe the default for the V4 dispensers is magic dock
North Dakota is a charging desert there should be ten times more chargers here.
I would encourage you to have government fund them - without utilization there isn't a business case.
Still need one in the Brownwood / Early TX area on 377
Branden, will the utility provide CPOs voltage above 480, maybe 800 - 1000V? Or must the CPO raise it themselves?
Audio is amazing Brandon. Very cool site indeed, hope to visit it someday.
if this gets any larger, you’ll need a Segway to get around that site
Good thing I have one
Crosseyed Vampire is back !!!!!
I’ll be interested to see if the Seguin Supercharger outdoes this one due to the Bucees expanding

Same speed as what?
@@brandenflasch you said same speed for the supercharger and the CP400. Wouldn’t you get better speed on the CP 400 with an E-gmp car for example?

Well, since Tesla themselves also refers to them as "stalls", I don't see what the issue is.
They are parking stalls.
