    My first 40 years of driving this wasn't an issue.... in the past 3 years, I have had 5 valve stems crack just like yours. What a pain in the butt. That is an awesome tool Steve. 1 Big Toe and 2 Thumps Up!!!!!!!!!

      Too late. When I saw that stem pop in, I flipped over to Amazon (amzn.to/2sc8ohP) and purchased one $22 immediately. Cool Stuff!!!!!

    I used to tear them up all the time on a truck I used to own. It had the long stems as well...I hated them, always switched to shorter ones. DANG, that is handy as all get out!!! You just saved a lot of people a lot of time! Thank You!

    I was in the tire business for 25+ years I never seen a tool like that!!!! Very interesting Steve!!! Personally I always asked customers if they had hub caps then we used the long stems if not we installed short ones.

      I think is a great idea for a quick valve stem replacement , i'm surprised as much as you are , seems not too many have seen it either. Well my daughter had them winter tires put on at Crappy Tire and there was no hub caps. LOL She won't be ever going back there again .

    Googling to see how to change a valve stem without dismounting a tire and low and behold my buddy Steve Rob has had a video up on it since June that I never saw! Considering that I pay about $25 for the local tire shop to dismount and replace one and re-balance, this tool seems like a good investment that will pay for itself. My wife is attracted to curbs and potholes like a rare earth magnet is to steel.

    And that made me smarter.
    You saved this old man's back I cut my valve stems from thieves crawling under my car's to steal part's. But now I have my garage almost built I need to move it and I didn't want to pull and Jack up that 1970 Chevy Impala I shudder just thinking about that task . But by chance I found your site .

    Great vid - thanks for posting.
    Just ordered a version of this from Amazon UK myself ("Laser 5540 Tyre Valve Tool" in case that helps anyone over on this side of the Atlantic). They're hard to find - obviously tyre shops don't want us to have them - it's bad for business!
    Oh, and good tip about using the shorter TR413 valve stems instead of TR414 or even the 418. They're way too long and far more prone to damage.

      Yes its great for off road stuff without a TPM system. Tractor tires and trailers would be the most for this kit. Saving you from breaking down the tire is always good. I could see a tire shop using it for a quick valve change too. Take care buddy and stay out of all that heat down there :)

    $25 to replace value stem in NY. I like the idea of being able to fix something without having to rely on someone else even if the cost is about the same.

    • @SteveRobReviews
      @SteveRobReviews  6 лет назад

      +Mike Blake Mike I just like to have the tools to depend on myself to fix something than someone else. This is such an easy way for most to do. I do change out a lot up at my northern camp in the woods on my firewood wagon getting snagged by branches. One hour drive to a tire shop so for me it's a must have. Cheers

      Thanks Steve! You'd think, but most of the time, if I get too close to something, I end up busting the sidewall. I think I will get this though :)

    I second that comment About being more concerned about that rim Being is so rusted in flaky you're probably going to have an issue with more leaks because of either corrosion rust or what not Getting in between the tire bead and the wheel

    • @SteveRobReviews
      @SteveRobReviews  3 года назад

      The rim and the car are long gone . Good to demonstrate on . Cheers
