When it starts spinning, you can sharpen. That way, you'll be sharpening and crouched under the attack AND get that sharpness modifier back to the maximum.
I learned alot of stuff from this video but there is one thing that I can apply to every hunts. That longsword combo that you keep doing, I don't know that combo until now
My friend beat him once with a ceanataur sns haha. I couldn't believe it but he really did it, he spent 49 minutes and 52 seconds *sorry for my bad english
Thanx, this video has given me a good idea of what I need to do, I think I can beat it now. Also, I have managed to survive the wind blast move, I was wearing full ceanetaur Z armour (I gemmed it to remove the negative defense effect) and I had Armour charm and Armoun Talon and I survived with a very small amount of health!
:) You need JUMP tickets, which could be obtained from JUMP Teo or the JUMP Marathon, which includes Rathalos, Daimyo, and Red Khezu. Those are download quests.

Depends which Rajang. If it's the Black Rajang, it needs to be in Rage for Pitfall to work. If it's the new Rajang, it needs to be in normal mode for Pitfall to work.
If you haev sharpness+1 and reckless abandon+2 (akantor blademaster armor) and the Copper Blangonga LS (the one w about 1380 raw damage) you will only need to charge your spirit gauge and unload it at the Yama's whiskers to cause him 500+ damage and make him stagger
@admiredfob Red Shogun is harder but there's only a few differences really... The water jet is a bitch really. Use a hbg and normal 2/3 and Pellet 2 and take huskberry and wyvern fangs to combine more pellet 2. Then just shoot. The floor jets are either straight or he twists it to the left. so just stay to his right when he looks constipated. and the roof jets are just walking and swinging it or spinning around where you just keep your distance... He takes bout 1.5 to 2 times longer to kill :) x
I reckon you should've added in what would happen if you do get sucked up by yama, or some other parts and how to recover from them. Could someone tell me approx how long these quests would take (solo)? But anyway, this helped me alot thanks a heap for making these!
Imo, it's really easy with Hermitaur X armour and Lost Black Katana. Gem for Def+40, and upgrade it to at least lv 8 (per piece). Just slash at it's tentacles to build the Spirit Gauge, then unleash Spirit attacks when it slams it's body down to attack/wind tunnel, and make sure to chain with normal slashes to kill any Thunderbugs. Rinse and repeat and it should be dead after about 35 minutes. Use Anti-Dragon Bombs and carve when possible. Avoid wind tunnel by running or throwing a Tranq Bomb.
did you do hr6 black gravios already, cuz i need LS help with that. ive got full rajang armor and a pair of white sharpness weapons but no water element weapons at all what so ever. so pppplllllzzzz help and make a guide. and all of your guides are awsome. i think you help the people the most. thx
If you mean the attack where you do a whirlwind style attack with the hammer, then yes, it does, but I think you have to charge it to an excessive degree or something. I'm not too sure; I don't use hammers often, if at all, but I'm sure it does, I've done it myself.
I think the Red Shogun is nearly easier than the Blue. Its Water-from its back shooting-attack-on-ground makes it wide open for attacks if you are near enough OR if it aims for your cat/companions. Thats one crucial weakness i can abuse.
You do all the G* (HR 7)and G** (HR8) epic hunting quests then that unlocks lao shan for HR8. Then after beating lao you get kushy, teo, and chammy in HR 9. And Yes I know this might be a bit late lol.

Red shogun is a pain in the ass, killed me twice with a little help from the minions which were pissing me off just as much. nice job yamatsukami is just to easy.
I really can't wait to fight this thing, but the quests leading up to it are causing me a lot of trouble. I might have to cave in and bug some HR9s to help me on Ad-Hoc party :P
I'm finally there and found it an incredibly easy fight, especially if you have the Guts skill, so the inverse wind tunnel doesn't instant kill. That's the only attack I worry about :P
I really don't understand how you beat this thing man. I use a great sword and the art of unsheathing to strike the tendrils. I NEVER have the chance to sheathe my blade and RUN off the edge when he does the vortex. Second I sheathe I get sucked in and die and even if I roll to the edge I still need to sheathe to jump off because the last time I actually rolled to make it I couldn't fall over the side. It's gotten frustrating to the point where I don't even have the desire to play.
@JoshIchiban808 i get it to the stage where i use the Anti dragon bombs on at like 20 mins to go (pounded it with what was the Best Lao LS on MHF2) so any idea how much longer to kill at that stage?
i solo'd yama but not akantor yet, yama is pretty easy, one recommendation you had on throwing tranq bombs, for noobs the safest thing to do is to sheeth the weapon and jump to the floor below.
I used to think that Yama was going to be a pain in the ass, and after I defeated it, I realised it was very easy! Even today i continue killing it with no mercy!

You got survival armor skill. You'll never be one-hit KOed as long as you have over 60 hp when you get hit. I believe yama's tornado attack is instant kill so survival really rocks.

I did the best thing on my like third Yamatsukami, I was throwing tranq's at it when it was doing the suck move, and the second tranq hit whilst I was being sucked in, so just as I was about to die it fell down ^-^

Yes, you can make the armor from Yama.
Yama is worth about 5 carves and more from
when you are on its back.

Yama's eyes change colors throughout the fight from his normal red to a blueish color, does that signify rage mode or something else?

I'm not sure if they have a dld quest available, but you get to fight it in the urgent quest to get from HR8 to HR9.

Not really, the last one is Ucambalas, but this is HR8 to HR9 Urgent, the one before Ucambalas

its decomposing plants and animals inside him giving of gases that are lighter than air.

they didnt dual swords gunlance and bow are gone but an axe and medium bowgun has been added.

Also all of those monsters with the exception of kirin (another elder dragon that isn't an actual dragon) aren't in a Draconian category.

You unlock them Ucalanos is the last mission in g rank. fatalis is unlocked by doing training.

Yama i can kinda understand, but Kirin is something that is classified as an ED, even though it fits Pegalus.

No, the backhop slash is where it ends. I wouldn't know what you mean either way as MHFU is the only MH I've played.

Can you do monster hunter tri vids in the future? Even though mhfu is still the best imo.
Try going for Basarios X/Z or Volganos X. Also, try using SnS to play it safe. Happy hunting.

any armor that is to your liking it really does not matter
@UltimatePunch umm either an ice or a dragon base weapon i believe he is more weak to ice then to dragon .
dragon moss no, dragon wood, carving from his back when he falls will get you better results than carving him when he dies.
at the end when the song is like ahhhh so is the monster lol.
You have to upgrade your bug thicket. And try to use black or gold hammer.

Not sure about the armor, but the more you hit the monster, the longer that rage meter will stay full.
they said the international release will be built from scratch so they might put dual swords back.

well if you beat on more level with the elder you can get it and the lao just use a hammer like onslaught or higher
