Hey Los Angeles Mexican guy here. I never thought of visiting Chicago. I know there’s a huge Mexican community there but it never drew my attention. My gf has always wanted to visit. After watching this, I’m so ready to book a flight. Thanks for sharing your town to more people such as myself, Adam and Jonathan. God DAMN the food there looks so good.

I may live outside the city limits now, but I'm close enough to Blue Island so I can still enjoy some great Mexican food. Man do I miss the ladies selling bags of tamales on street corners though.
Fresh Midwest ingredients, grains, wheat, corn, livestock, dairy, and fresh water from the Great Lakes. That adds to the over all flavor. Even with Chicago style Pizza same more or less ingredients.

Atotonilco's on 26th street is the first taco restaurant in Chicago west of Pilsen. Been going there since 1976 when I was 5/6 years old. Lived down the block from there. Best Al Pastor ever, milkshakes, rice water, and ham Tortas ever.

Nice to see southwest side chicago food content since most stuff is on the Northside or Downtown. If you guys do this again, maybe take a look at La Iguanita on Kedzie and Paco's Tacos on Archer. Flour is really good too, flour in general isn't my thing though. Everywhere I go they have a huge designated area to stock and sell out so fast. So cheap for the quality too
All Southside. ✊
Nice to see southwest side chicago food content since most stuff is on the Northside or Downtown. If you guys do this again, maybe take a look at La Iguanita on Kedzie and Paco's Tacos on Archer.
La Iguanita is cash only but damn it slaps. Paco's Tacos is probably the priciest tacos but they load that thing up.
Sick ass video. Keep Chicago up there when it comes to food diversity and quality !
We Chicagoans are 1/3 black, 1/3 white and 1/3 Mexican, so hell yes we have awesome Mexican food❤
Tripa tacos=chitterlings tacos!!!!
What about el patron on Fullerton?? What about la pasadita on Ashland? What about las asadas on 47th??
Great collaboration with Chef Jonathan
I love this so much. I’m a white man, not a cultured bone in me unfortunately. But u love mexican cuisine and history and this perfectly showed both
Taco El Jalisciense on Chicago and Grand is the best!!! Especially the taco de pastor . Gotta try it, you won’t be disappointed
Now I want some tacos, I’m glad that most of the ones mentioned are in the southside and we have the best in the city. Like 4 of the stops I tried growing up and man those tacos are super nostalgic
Gotta hit some of these places!!!
chicago has the best Mexican culture and the best Mexican food 100%. And the most Mexicans lol. I love it here
You should go to random cities where people just do NOT expect a taco scene. Somewhere like Boston. I would not expect them to have any decent mexican food so if you find it I'm sure all of us would love to see it. I just subscribed after this video!
SO, it's raining tacos in Chicago? Tacos🎵🎶🎵🎶❤
Thanks to Johnathon for the expertise. Zaragoza is sooooo good
okay so i just got back from Chef Zaragoza's resteraunt on Lawrence ave. and i gotta say my entire life just changed forever, sorta feel like I had a psychedelic experience. the consume is the real deal there!
Super dope ! I went to high school with him and his brother Tony and his sister ! Ima check his restaurant out asap
I love how they sat by that badass shrine to La Santisima Muerte at La Chaparrita. The tattoo on the señoras arm is jailhouse intense. Love that place. 😂🤣
You ain't Lying! Lmao. And the Lady is my friends mom. They are the most humble and nicest people. I respect their restaurant and got use to their Santa muerte Shrine at this point. It's unique and interesting
Such a great vid ! Dude you never fail! I just subbed about a month ago & tbh at the moment this is my favorite food vlog channel by far! Definitely hitting up on those spots next time I go to Chicago !
thank you dood! Welcome.
I love this chef

Thanks guys now I’m hungry
Epic video Adam, thanks for every second of it!
i've got a chef goat boy shirt, too. We're lucky to have chef goat boy.

I've tried tacos in Texas, LA, NY, and Chicago is definitely on top.
Such a cool video 😄 thank you, Adam and Jonathan
I was about to say you can’t do El milagro without doing Atotonilco and of course you shut me up quick both are Chicago staples.
Totally different yet totally Mexican and true pioneers in my city!!!!
