As a fan of Enna who came across your channel from your Skyfall reaction, I really appreciate your technical comments. I don’t know much about the technicality of singing and love learning about it.
She has a naturally real nasal voice, so much so that she sounds completely different while talking. I also recommend one of her friends: Ike Eveland, a metal singer with a magical voice as well. Here is their duet: ruclips.net/video/ZXFkDXaJ234/видео.html Here is Ike alone: ruclips.net/video/PSWj_nyQtn8/видео.html ruclips.net/video/RjtshS_bIXo/видео.html
About the comments, they were using baguette emotes cause they sort of look like lightsticks lol. Lightsticks are usually used by fans in the crowd of Japanese Idol concerts to cheer for the singer. But to emulate a cheering audience they just make do with a baguette haha
someone should suggest the karaoke stream that she dedicated to her grandmother!! mononoke hime and ethyria were especially good songs showcasing the higher end of her range. boku ga shinou to omotta no wa and sukinanosa were also great examples of her lower register and vocal agility. i think 3/4 of these songs should have lyric translations

the nasality is a fairly common feature in the enka style i think. as well as the agility to quickly jump around when other styles might be holding a long note. i think you can see that skill being used in skyfall for example in the "yodel" you discussed
Enka is a fairly traditional style of Japanese music, much of which is done in this ballad style. The nasal tone is prevalent in these, you'll hear it from pretty much any Enka singer, but as other commenters have said, Enka involves a lot of flipping between head and chest voice quickly, and almost has a Theatrical or "Musical" quality in how the lyrics are expressed. I think much of it doesn't click with western audiences due to that trademark nasality, which for the most part isn't utilized in western music, but I do wish more people would be open to it. Tons of cultures use nasal tones for expression in music, and I think it would be great if more could appreciate the beauty of it. Enna's voice is incredibly well suited to the Enka genre- and clearly, many others. Thanks for the review!
This is one of my absolute favourite covers by her, Enka is a genre that never fails to amaze me and Enna performed it beautifully. Your comments were very interesting and insightful, thank you so much!
I've been a fan of everything 'Japan culture' for my entire adult life, enjoying everything musically from Koto, to Enka, to City Pop, to Jpop, to Jrock, and more. Enka is as you describe, VERY nasally and incorporates a warble in the throat while singing, much akin to yodeling. If you ever hear traditional enka in your journey, it had a big boom in the 70's and resurfaced thanks to Hollywood. The latest group I can think of that made it popular again would be Wagakki Band.
Thanks for reacting to more of Enna's karaoke songs, she's a hardworking vocalist and my favorite singer among vtubers. She has an amazing range and taste in music, I wasn't familiar with Enka until she sang those types of songs and had karaoke streams on them (her family loves the genre so its something she's grown up with if I remember right.) I hope you can analyze and listen to more of her singing! I personally love her entire Higurashi fan concert, it was one of her passion projects.
It would actually be really cool if you dive more into the world of vtubers, there's a lot of amazing and talented singers and such a variety as well. Ren Zotto is one that is another amazing singer from the same company as Enna, he has a lot of original songs, his debut one being 'Blue Sugar', but my favourite songs of his are 'Wanderer' and 'Casket'. If you want another Enna song to react to, one of her originals is called 'Mushroom' (originally a song she randomly sung in a game, a fan made music for it and it became an official thing) or her first song which is called 'Wish of this Songbird' all these songs are found on their channels.
the song is called amagi goe by ishikawa sayuri and everytime enna sings it, i'm astounded. thank you for reviewing her singing! there's a lot of vtubers that are skilled at singing and enna is my favorite female voice in their company. it was nice hearing your technical comments and glad you enjoyed her singing despite the language barrier 💗
I love how you react to all the goings on in the stream. It’s very interesting to hear both your technical comments and your impressions on streaming as a creative outlet and product. Thanks to the Aloupeep who recommended this. I never heard this cover before! ❤
Any time Enna opens her mouth to sing, I get butterflies. 🦋 Thanks for another great video Ken! Hope to see you react to more VTuber content in the future. Subscribed! 🎉
You should do a reaction to one of her official covers or original songs! These have all been karaoke covers so far and I want to see what you think of her voice when it’s properly mixed and polished

So excited to see you review more of Enna’s singing! It would be cool to hear more of your commentary after doing a deep dive into the musical style of Enka ❤
Your reaction are very interesting thanks for the video 😊, i really was unfamiliar woth enka before even listening to Enna cover and i was interested in the style of if because i feel it express a lot of emotuon just by the amount of pauses and style of singing i never heard of, so what they were commenting was a baguette 🥖🥖 basically it's a way of cheering they represent light sticks like for concerts of idols 😂

Let's go, another Enna video! I recommend listening to her original song "Ethyria" the lyrics are completely made up meaning there isn't a language being spoken, so appreciating the song is completely different. It's a VERY beautiful song, if you don't decide to make a video on it, please listen to it offline at the least. Thanks for the Enna reacts! ruclips.net/video/2SZbnGJAymg/видео.htmlsi=bXUuQVNzcZgnLZX-
RUclips recommended a great video! I'm not usually one for "react" videos, but Ken is a great commentator and definitely knows this field. I'm tempted to send some Machita Chima videos over... Maybe her opera singing.
welcome to the wonderful world of vtubing, dont think too much about it and just follow us into the rabbithole. some of the most unique and skilled live performers are waiting for you to discover them.
I remember listening to this cover many times because I loved it so much (still do) her voice is so powerful and unique that's why she's the songbird of Hel- Heaven🛐
You should check out IronMouse. She’s also a vtuber. She’s a classically trained singer. Check out her cover of “When I look at you” or really anything. She’s amazing.

Since vtubers are not off the table could you watch a recent cover akuma no ko cover from Lucien Lunaris It is a song I never thought a male voice would suit and he did it really well.
Of all the Japanese songs she sang/covered, Goddish is my favourite, and I think it showcase how great her singing voice is. First time I heard her sing the song is on live karaoke: ruclips.net/video/z5Nd5XsbPWo/видео.htmlsi=TDQB-3Q6k2Mk-goi Fans really liked her singing the song (the original clip reached millions of views but is now deleted) She made a music video cover of the song. I just across your channel from Skyfall reaction and I didn't expect you would do reaction for this song 😮 Thanks, it's so cool to always learn vocal technicall from vocal teacher. Anyway, if you want to know more about her range, I think her God-ish cover (ruclips.net/video/Dg6dG3U6n-c/видео.htmlsi=aXBVUNop9jtuA4cI) and another cover of an OST game by her, Maria and Seffyna (her co-liver from same agency) did pretty well go potray it! The emotes in the chat are breadsticks 🥖 back when she didn't have membership open and no custom emotes yet! Lol Also that wasn't 100 dollars, it was 100MXN which is about 5 USD 😆 Man her voice is so beautiful, i love her so much 🥺
Looks like you are getting into a Vtubers rabbit hole =) There are some Vtubers who is very good at singing. One i'm really like is Ironmouse, her performance of The Ballad of Jane Doe form Ride the Cyclone is very good, worth to check out.
Seconded! Honestly it's amazing hearing Ironmouse sing anything at all, I always love hearing her revert to opera singing, especially knowing what that means in terms of her battle against CVID and the life she had before it
Just got into watching your videos due to the Enna Skyfall reaction. I would love your thoughts on one of my favorite Vtubers’ original song (also in Japanese but in a very different style): ruclips.net/video/jBgCkYECapk/видео.htmlsi=qgIhlBkNVullqkX5 . Her name is Ririsya and the song is called Close to You
I can say that VTubers has been blast in last years, there a lot of talents amongst them and they produce a lot of music! Not just a covers, but their originals too! There is so much going on at the moment that it wouldn't fit in one comment. Rather than that instead of long explanations, I think I would rather suggest you reacting to Enna's original song! Song called *ETHYRIA* and it have 2 versions: normal, just *ETHYRIA* ruclips.net/video/2SZbnGJAymg/видео.html and *ETHYRIA // TRUE END* ruclips.net/video/zUGVQqGoZps/видео.html If you gonna react on it it would be better if you listen to both in one video, so that you can compare them as well. This is also one of my favorite song from Enna, but I actually have a lot of favorites from her (about ~35 songs) Lastly if you like her singing, make sure to check other talents, because there just a lot of talented people within VTubers who have their own original songs as well as a lot of covers.
Sod it, if we're throwing you down the vtuber rabbit hole, I'll toss my suggestion for Nerissa Ravencroft - Love me Love me Love me, or Godish. She has amazing talent that I think you'll enjoy
3:59 probaby, I've seen the original and they have similar techniques. Maybe you should educate urself first abt the genre before make a commentary video especially if u r not familiar with the genre.

Let's just say that vtubers seem to have an unusually high number of great singers with many of them self taught.
You should react to Enna singing “Odo”, that’s definitely one of Enna’s best live performances!

YES MORE ENNAAAA
She sings so well. Until about a month ago, I had no idea some vtubers were so talented.
Another thing interesting to note in more traditional based Japanese music, like Enka is derived from, uses a pentatonic scale, which is relatively different from Western music

i love enna aloutte
Nasality is a staple of enka. It's essentially one of its biggest defining characteristics.
If you enjoyed Enna, i want to recommend you another virtual singer, Isekai Joucho. She has a soothing yet strong and powerful voice that she uses and has been said by her group mates as she can be your angel or devil whenever.
An example of her being an angel would be a song like Arcadia or Heart of Sirius.

Hello Ken, My name is Normand (aka Norm). Originally from Fall River, MA. Paul Lavigne was my brother. Would like to know if we are related. Thanks!
Hello if you are able to it would be amazing to see you react to Enna’s song ETHYRIA (original soundtrack).
Bro Where's the link for the original
The emotes in the chat are breadsticks 🥖 back when she didn't have membership open and no custom emotes yet! Lol Also that wasn't 100 dollars, it was 100MXN which is about 5 USD 😆
Man her voice is so beautiful, i love her so much 🥺
would love to see your reaction to Serafina Ch's cover of Golden Hour by JVKE 😍
Yeah, not bad👍
Same here
I would like for you to react to some of ironmouse's singing
Why don't you try listening to her original song ethyria and the ethyria final ending
Enna's voice is an anomaly istg, you'd be surprised to hear her normal talking voice 😂
Her name is Ririsya and the song is called Close to You
Hi I need to hear your reaction to the song Ya Wafiyya by Kazem El Saher
Just a new subscriber here, I don't have money rn but when i do, I'll request you to react to Scaramouche boss theme (both phase 1 and 2) 🙏🙏
Would you be able to check out a another vtuber called Calliope Mori i suggest End Of A Life to listen to loving your reactions
Enka genre music has a lot of flipping from head voice and chest voice
You have to react to ironmouse
I can say that VTubers has been blast in last years, there a lot of talents amongst them and they produce a lot of music! Not just a covers, but their originals too! There is so much going on at the moment that it wouldn't fit in one comment.
Rather than that instead of long explanations, I think I would rather suggest you reacting to Enna's original song! Song called *ETHYRIA* and it have 2 versions:
normal, just *ETHYRIA* ruclips.net/video/2SZbnGJAymg/видео.html
and *ETHYRIA // TRUE END* ruclips.net/video/zUGVQqGoZps/видео.html
If you gonna react on it it would be better if you listen to both in one video, so that you can compare them as well. This is also one of my favorite song from Enna, but I actually have a lot of favorites from her (about ~35 songs)
Lastly if you like her singing, make sure to check other talents, because there just a lot of talented people within VTubers who have their own original songs as well as a lot of covers.
should checkout ironmouse another vtubers she is an amazing singer who probably has the most insane range of any vtuber
Enka? I only think of Killer Bee-Sama!
Sod it, if we're throwing you down the vtuber rabbit hole, I'll toss my suggestion for Nerissa Ravencroft - Love me Love me Love me, or Godish. She has amazing talent that I think you'll enjoy
Диана Анкудинова ruclips.net/video/u9rBsvNRY3I/видео.htmlsi=UOgpNBNRC4LD56X1 есть английские субтитры
3:59 probaby, I've seen the original and they have similar techniques. Maybe you should educate urself first abt the genre before make a commentary video especially if u r not familiar with the genre.
