I’ll never forget the night this aired and I blasted the volume on my TV... thank God this album came out!!! ROTTING PIÑATA is/was an EPIC production. SPONGE had the best live concerts
Man so glad i found this. I have VHS tapes in a storage bin in my garage. I really need to see about getting them transfered to dvd. I have so much old great stuff like this live performance on it. And bands like DIG on John Stewart. Damn! Makes me wish i have fukn vcr so i could bust em out now! Lol
@@SARJdkhaha right on...if i ever do i need to upload em for sure to youtube. I never have used youtube to upload videos except one time years ago. It was just a video for my cousin..but how knows maybr someday i can do that..my niece is gling to school for cinama and television arts and learning editing n stuff so she is good at the techy stuff so maybe one day she can help. Ita nothin i have on my to do lisy in the near near future but ya never know.
What a great song. Fox used it in the opening montage of the NJ devils game 4 against the red wings (when they won the cup)…..so good. Also, this dude was being this before Scott Weiland was…..influence was huge
Sponge has a very Replacements-esque vibe to them. Not a ripoff, as they definitely have their own sound, but every time I hear "Plowed", or really anything from their debut, and even their second record Wax Ecstatic, I instantly think about Tim, or Pleased To Meet Me, definitely All Shook Down... Those jangly guitars with that undeniable groove that many of those midwest, blue collar, Alt Rock pioneering bands from the 80s and 90s have, they definitely wore their influences on their sleeves.
don't know why I was the only one of my friends that liked Sponge. still love these songs.
Really dug these guys back in the day. This was a great album.

Serendipity is like deja vu without the acid flashback feeling
They still do!
Saw them live last weekend! They were solid nailing each song even the classics here! 🎸😎⭐⚡
god I love Sponge I wish they would hit it better, such a talented band
Might be just me, I miss the days when tv had this visual quality.
Looks more real
Damn I love this song. It has so much meaning
I just watched Sponge playing Rainin in Chigaco aug 10 1995. It kicks ass big time.
Jon Stewart had some of the best bands of the era on a show that was GEN X to the MAX!
Hell yeah
I agree
I’m technically a millennial but I also watched this live as a 12 year old (older brothers/sisters influence). I was always stoked on this song 🤘
Elder millenials got in there too. Not old enough to see them live, but old enough to headbang and play air guitar. Probably 11 years old.
Saw these guys on May 20, 2023. Only original member is Vinnie the singer. He sounds a lot better now than he did back then. His voice has aged well.
I saw these guys back in 2022 in Ohio, and yeah, the front man was definitely on point! ❤ I’d love to see them again sometime.
Miss the 80s and early 90s so much. Was so young, now forever gone
There was a time people made fun of the 80s... I'm glad I lived it ❤
This is actually a great performance. Vin is spot on
Aside from the fact that it's played at about 75% speed, I'll agree
Such an amazing band! Bring back great teenage memories!

I subscribed to you, just in case you ever get a vcr to transfer all those gold nuggets

Great band.
That was such an underrated album! Thanks for posting this performance- also long live Jon Stewart!
Everything that has ever happened is underrated
Love this song, always has been my favorite by Sponge. This was an awesome performance!
They blew the roof off that dump!
Thanks for this. Heard quite a few live versions of this and love this one best.
such a good song, the demoed in detroit album is really good as well.
Best live
Can't wait to see them for the first time, they're coming to Ft Wayne in three weeks 🎸🎸
Oh wow! This album, especially this song has touched my soul. Keeps me coming back and moving forward
Back in 1995, I thought this was Social D....love it
vinnie does sound similar to mike ness, sponge is a little more upbeat than social d.
Love this song

Saw these guys opening for Live back then, had to be within weeks of this performance, was early '95 and COLD here on PA, was in March I think.
90's were the best
i agree, the 90's were the best decade of music,, it will never get better because every sound has been done,, the 90's was the apex.
SAW IT👍
Nice raw version…almost like the first time plying it
preformance was sharp as a tact
😂😂
Great performance.
Cool stuff

I went to this taping down at paramount studios. Me and my bestie are on camera several times. Does anyone have this full episode? Please....
Here's a bit of it-Kate Mulgrew and shots of the audience.

Chasing mavericks
Is the lead singer the father of the singer for Maneskin
Ahah maybe;)
Much better times!
They're still going with the same lead singer. He started out as a drummer so he has rhythm.
that mic stand fail about 2m in is epic
What is epic about it?
@@danacoleman4007 let me explain. you see, grungy 90s bands tended to......

AIC
I love this song, but I swear the lead singer stripped my A/C unit of all its copper.
The singer is trying to be scott weiland
Nah, the singer just doing his own thing. Vinnie is a W
Nah, two completely different vibes
No one else could ever compare to Scott Weiland. Vinnie is his own type of cool
They are extremely disappointing live
