It's okay, but can never replace the original!
They're not trying to.
Didn’t need to change the lyrics so much, just “update it” but in saying that I loved the end of the movie paying homage to the “unknown stuntmen” and a great nod to one of the greatest,Hal Needham as he was the 1st to add the gag reel and outtakes at the end of the films. I believe that was either Smokey and the bandit 2 or possibly cannonball run. Great film though, fun ,enjoyable, love Emily blunt! All round, good film. Loved the cameo roles by Lee majors and Heather Thomas at the end!
The original Unknown Stuntman by Lee Majors was hell of a lot better then the remake
Maybe if you listened to it when you were younger, doesnt hold up anymore though.
@@xxtripleokgaming Listened to it 5 minutes ago, holds up just fine.
Why didn't they update the actors, and of course, if they added "That made Gosling such a star" it would have been the icing on the cake 🙂
Totally agree, lacks impact with no name drops and too much repetition
Absolutely. Should have totally updated it to feature contemporary actors. As it is, it just doesn't have the same real-world relevance. And they could still have made it respectful...
'I've been on fire with Taylor-Joy, gone fast with Ms Diaz...'
'Ms Hendricks burned ma ass so bad, and that Theron shot me up...'
I was just thinking that too; it would have been great if the changed it to “that made Gosling such a star”. Definitely a missed opportunity there!
How about ..” that made Ryan such a star “ covers Gosling ,Reynolds, …seacreast?
@@Whirlwound I had "I've been on fire with Emilia Clarke, gone fast with Gal Gadot" to maintain some consistency.
Good song. Lovely voice
used autotune it’s fake. AI could do about the same.
@@67polaraI doubt it lovely. All his songs he has the same voice so...?
Well done Mr Shelton.
It may not be Lee Majors, but hey he did great.
Love it!!!! Great songs and great movie!!!
I have not yet heard the original theme (about to listen right now), and I haven't watched the TV show, but when I heard this play over the end credits it just made me want to sing along. I love it, and I love the movie too.
I love this Shelton version, just as I also love the original because of the nostalgia. There is no reason to compare them, both are great and have different points, while the original talks about his life as a stuntman and refers to actors' names for that, in this new one he points more to love and winning the heart of someone else.
Love it! :) Thx
Remake is awesome musically but there's no replacing the original with the listing of all the beauties of the seventies and eighties. Good but not the same.❤
They should have had lee sing it
Lee Majors sings this better 😙
Didn't want to embarrass "kids" who wouldn't know who any of them are, maybe legal issues too.
I legitimately expected that they were going to update the original with current actresses (e.g. J-Law instead of Farrah) but this works.
Love it Blake~
Blake suck at it
Loved the movie and my daughter love it without knowing about the tv show.
Nostalgia is a powerful drug.
Awesome! This is definitely just as good if not better than the original
Lee majors does a cameo role at the and of the movie
Along with the real "Jody" Heather Thomas.
Perhaps the most important element of the original song was the lyrical homage paid to cinema stars of that era (including the self-acknowledgement of the narrator). This was not only provided context to help clarify / define the phrase "unknown stuntman" relative to occupation, place, time, etc., but it was also a common thing to do in Country Music, in general. The remake version is void of any real substance, reading as a generic one-liner apparently aiming at no one or anything, specifically. The line "...who'd die to have your heart..." provides merely a faceless, nameless reach at an equally undefined romance(?), possibly? I have not watched it, but I am guessing that the movie may focus only on romance and/or sex between the two lead characters, whose careers are, most likely just occasional background.
It retains how Colt uses his stuntman training in connection to fighting crime but merges it into a rom-com the same way Romancing The Stone and The Jewel Of The Nile did by having Jody be a cinematographer he'd been dating until he got sidelined by an on-set accident.
I bet Miranda is ticked off since Blake is being showcased yet again, Reba laughing it up. Hey KISS and Phil Collins were happy as well since they’re super songs enhanced the show 100%. I think Burt Reynolds ‘78 film Hooper had outtakes at the end.
Was there something wrong with the original lyrics?
The younger generation wouldn't understand references to actors and actresses famous in the 70s.
However, the unknown stuntman haa a few choice lyrics that Hollywood can't publish anymore.
Great song
The original was this one sucked
Awesome movie. Go see it!!!!
I saw the movie just yesterday. Awesome movie! Better than I thought it would be. I particularly loved its theme song, *"Unknown Stuntman",* sung by Blake Shelton.
can´t replace the original
He did it for the movie now thats out, is this the theme song for the movie version of the fall guy?
Who else came here to listen to the new version and then went and listened to the original Lee Majors version instead because it's way better?
Eastwood reference not included seems wrong
Considering he's in his 90s as of the movie's release?
They changed the words.
Loved the original and the movie. Watched the original recently. It has not aged well.
Not nearly as good as the original, the lack of name drops spoils it's impact
So true
This is very cool
I like it. But then I didn't grow up with the show...I do understand many of the references are outdated.
that movie was awesome highly recommend ❤
The movie was pure shit and had nothing to do with The Fall Guy.
The remake is not bad at all. Some of us will stick with what we grew up with. lolest!!!
I wish they used the old lyrics,… maybe just update the names of the actors mentioned… But still a catchy tune….
Thats not Lee Majors.
Only Lee Majors can really sing this song! 🤗
First like and comment 😁😁😁
Meh. I certainly understand trying to get rid of the lothario language which was a bit cringe inducing even then (though that was actually part of the character). More importantly, it wouldn't work today the same actresses and I doubt any current actresses would consent to allowing their names to be substituted in so there's that. I still think they could have included the third verse (They'll never make me President...) somehow.
Got my down vote. There was no need to change the lyrics.
Yeah, the original had name drops no one would get now, but they could have put new actors in. What was wrong with "I've taught ladies plenty"? Even rating women was pretty tame, people still say "she's a 10". "Die to have your heart" doesn't even make sense.
Great performance as always by Blake Shelton, but the lyrics change doesnt do it for me
I love this version of *"Unknown Stuntman",* and who better to update the song than Blake Shelton.
Its true it is that bad 😝
I wish they'd updated the original lyrics....
Sarcasm? They updated the lyrics too much.
@@aabcd782 I thought they'd CHANGED the lyrics.... It's basically all-new lyrics to the same melody.
@@Scatscar1985 No a good chunk is the same especially the refrain. They changed it to match the movie and yearn for the female lead where the old one he named the Hollywood actors he loses out the Hollywood starlets to. The die to have your heart is the only real major refrain change as that used to change up every refrain of old one mentioning which actor he made look good in some way. They updated the lyrics in a sense but probably changed 60% of it. I would have liked them to just update to the modernday superstars maybe.
Awful rewrite. Could have been done so much better but, let's face it, woke Hollywood isn't going to allow a song about a guy getting multiple women who he grades on a scale of 1 to 10.
Very disappointed, such a good song deserved better.
I think it's awesome
Musically, this is pretty good, and Blake Shelton is a good singer, but the lyrics themselves, are garbage compared to the original.
He should have changed the names to more modern TV/movie actors and actresses and kept the spirit of the original alive for a new generation.
Nice, but obviously politically corrected for ModeRN AuDIenCEs, and to remove all the names that kids today likely wouldn't even know who they are.
Sounds way too processed
PC’d it I reckon.💩
Ruined the song by changing it so much
The same as he did in footlose
I was thinking the same but he would have had to have updated the actress name (no one under 40 knows bo derrick or Racquel Rachel) . I have noticed the TV show hasn't been mentioned once in the probably 7 interviews I've seen Ryan do for promotion and that bugs me
*Welch
"Ruined" is strong, but completely eliminating the name drops from the original makes it pretty repetitive.
yeah
OMG.... JUST NOOOOO bet they changed the words cos of these ❄️ that get offended so much....
the new lyrics ruined it, what is wrong with you??? so damn plane and PC
TERRIBLE
Sounds like sh**. Bad enough they did not have Majors just resing it but changing the lyrics too. Horrible! This is just one of the many things wrong and disrespectful with this movie. And the director claims to be a huge fan of the show, smh.
Majors does a small part at the end, as the police officer and was very happy (they say) with this movie.
Totally agreef
Big fucking deal! I've both watched the movie and listened to the song. I loved the difference! While Lee Majors had an awesome voice, times have changed, and they needed to upgrade the song for the movie.
I've seen 7 interviews promos Ryan's done for this movie and not once has the TV show been mentioned and that is messed up
I'm not endorsing the lyrics changes, but Majors is *85*. It makes complete sense to have someone else do the vocals for a new version.
Sorry, but Ryan Gosling comes off as Colt Seavers gay son....and Colt is severly disappointed in him. LOL
Lee Majors did better lol. Who applied woke to this song? Ridiculous.
This ain't it Chief
Lame lyrics
😑 they ruin everything
Hate. Autotune. Might as well use AI.
This song like the movie is a complete and utterly disrespectful piece of sh!t, whoever green lighted this crap should be fired and when I think of a action star Ryan Goslin is the last one I would think of,his last few movies have stunk up the box office he needs to stick with movies where he is an afterthought
soulless and, even worse, pointless
