You are really lucky that your parents knew about all of this and pushed you! I was very interested in math starting 4th grade, but I had no proper math training until 7th grade. It was then when I learned about AoPS and my olympiad experience started.
ur channel is so helpful and relatable!! my parents pushed me to do olympiad in 4th/5th grade and i sorta liked it but i didnt like the feeling of being forced into something so i quit before 7th and pursued writing (which is literally in the OPPOSITE direction lol rebellious teenager things ig) and now i’m a freshman and im semi-accomplished with writing (i’ve been published several times and won national awards) and im sorta interested in math again??? so uh…kinda don’t know what i’m going to do with my next four years but thank you so much for all the videos!!
“grades were a lot easier for me than in elementary school”... in elementary school all I was worried about was doing better than my friends on the MAP tests haha
the principle about being forced into things applies to any sport/competition, my friends (who’s parents are super obsessed with their achievements in sports) are lowkey depressed when they don’t win every race which is a toxic mentality
@@TechToppers yea I'm kinda grinding alcumus on insanely hard mode for topics I think I know. Do u have AoPS vol 1? I do and I found the number theory, counting, and probability sections too be kinda sucky. Do u have anything to supplement this?
@@viradeus4322 I'm fine at Number Theory part. I'm weak(extremely weak) at Combinatorics and I haven't paid much attention to probability as it isn't a topic for olympiads in India. To supplement number theory for olympiads, you just have to do problems. There is a book by Niven for Number Theory, but it's quite advanced.
You can look into "host" schools meaning some schools and testing centers that offer olympiad exams. AMC has it on there websites and USABO potential host schools will pop up in September! Or even better you can start a club that offers the exam :)

lol same I'm a freshman starting olys too
This was very interesting and helpful. Thank you!
I mean there’s computational biology/bioinformatics so bio + cs is definitely a field to look at.

Kinda feel like I have PTSD from MAP. Smh.
I’m just now getting started with olympiads in 11th grade. I feel so behind 😢.
u still have college dw
yeah they seem fun, I want to start but I’m also a junior and already so time crunched
@@arpanbanerjee5659 you can do olympiads in college?
This is so helpful as a sophomore in high school!! Which olympiad is your favorite?
usaco :D
3:25 I can completely relate last year in 5th grade
I discovered your channel way too late...

Toxic mentality is good. To succeed you have to be obsessed but not get sad
@@MSN539 yea but if you're obsessed but not sad, I would consider that passionate rather than toxic

i can confirm that this man was very popular in 5th grade
How did u get so hecking good at the AMC 10?
AMC 10? That was simple. Learn Olympiad tricks, solve lots of problems. That's it. AIME 1 first 4 to 5 problems are easy too.
@@TechToppers bruh easier said than done.
@@viradeus4322 Yeah! It takes a lot of time. For me, 1 year straight!

No one cares. Elementary school accomplishments don’t matter, let alone first grade.
He is kidding lmao
Aryan Taywade I know lol
Would it be too late for me to start near the end of sophomore year or beginning of junior?
Can you pls make ur channel focused on the USACO stuff?
I mean it's more focused on USACO than anything else but I am not gonna only do USACO :D
@@Cararra Also pls do some bronze stuff. I need a little help with some of that stuff.
Also, thx for replying so fast.
