Love listening to your stories. The weaving and stitching is beautiful and inspiring me to give it a go. Quick little story...I was quite the gullible little girl. On a road trip, there were cows on a hillside. My dad asked me if I knew how the cows could stand on the side of a hill so well. I thought and thought and had no explanation. He then told me it was because the cow's legs were a bit shorter on one side and a bit longer on the other, allowing them to stay balanced on the hillside. Fast forward years later, on my honeymoon, we see some cows on the hillside and I explain to my new hubby how the cows can stand so well on the hillside. He keeps a straight face and asks me what happens if the cows turn and walk in the other direction? As it begins to dawn on me that my dad had been pulling my leg all those years, my new hubby laughed so hard he had to pull off the road. I kept up the tradition with my kids and now grandkids. 😊
Your comment about your needle Regnal ( what could go wrong in car with beading needle )made me remember when Anne taught us “needle tatting”with the #52 tags .. I was in hospital after back surgery keeping up with the tags.. Sent husband of to buy doll makers needle 🪡 & proceeded to learn needle tatting while flat on back Haha 😂😂 the nurses didn’t think good idea but I did it & loved it..planning to do some for my treasure hunt. Love your videos Thank you
Wow! Pastels are so sweet! You made it more vibrant & dainty with the beads. Beautiful, Corrine! Re Grandma’s pearl/ advice: same like yours. Aspirin between your knees and keep your knees securely closed. 😂😂😂And as teens of long time ago without television, library, only radio for news & entertainment, I never question it. I thought I don’t need that measure because I wanted to be a nun😂😂😂. The Aspirin might have slipped, I have three daughters now.❤️ Take care.
Oooo I had a thought. The next one could be in spirals! 😳😳 Gees that would be challenging....definitely for me. Haha. Sari silk in a spiral with ...hmmmm... maybe some square blocks behind?? Orrrr...hmmm .....I think that was the extent of my imagination today. Hahaha. My brain is mush. 😂 It looks gorgeous ❤ The colours are like sherbet bombs. 🥰🥰🥰 Hmmm....Irish rings or wedding ring design quilted thingy on what they do on quilts. Gees I hope you know what I’m talking about. Hahaha. The blanket show...BAHAHAHAHA!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 ohhhh I remember those days. Parents did get so much joy with taking the Mickey out of us.
It turned out so pretty. I like the cabin quilt idea but I’m hexagon crazy so that’s what I would add. Looking forward to the next episode to see what you do. 🙂
Hmm. Leave you in pieces? Leave you in stitches? I was thinking a fan would go nicely on your Japanese bag. This is a very pretty project, very delicate. Very nice.
WOW beautiful as usual. I’m weaving ( Sonya) a project envelope ( create and craft with Christine) for my Aunty for her birthday in pastel colours on one side and lace on the other.
I love your stories. My family has many. I had an uncle who would use big fancy words to tease us. I remembered being accused of having "ancestors!" I denied it forever thinking I had some dreaded disease.
Enjoying this journey - thanks. my mother use to tell us "don't put anything in your ear smaller than your elbow!!" Not sure why she chose that, but maybe my older brother or sister had done that at some time.
I really enjoy watching you and am excited to try some of these projects. I am Canadian, so I don’t always know some of the words you are saying, but my Grandmother taught me to do various forms of needle work and then my Mother-in-law taught me a bunch more styles and cultural forms. This is totally of interest to me. Thank you for sharing!
So beautiful Corrine 🩷. I would love to see you do a simple log cabin block with these beautiful fabrics. . . then would love to see you embroider each strip or “log”. The more the better. I could watch you stitch and listen to your wonderful stories all day!! Greetings from Florida !!
Hi Corrine beautiful work as always. I heard a tip about crinkly ribbon especially for silk ribbon embroidery, iron with a hair straighter, I don't need to use a hair straighter but bought a small one, figure it would be easier to use than a bulky iron or craft iron.
I like the crazy quilt square idea that was already mentioned where you use your 2.5” strips cut into odd shapes and then use unique stitches and embellishments along the “seams”. It would be pretty in the shabby sheik colurs. Also think a long cabin with different sized strips around to the 6.5 inches would be neat! The center could be used to do a special embroidery or note or even add a bit of a doily that matches the color scheme. BUT if it were me as much as I love EPP, I’d probably do a hexie design.
Loving the way this is turning out, Corrine! Thanks for the inspiration, as always....I might try the #squishyprojectbag with these different methods. You truly are an ispiration, and you make me giggle (what could possibly go wrong with Reginald on your dodgy roads....phhhhht!!!!)
My daughter and I were talking yesterday about little tricks that I pulled on her as a child that she didn’t figure out until she was grown. Her favorite one was about the crust on bread. You must absolutely eat the crust on your bread because that is where all the vitamins are! It is true for fruits and vegetables so…..,Flash forward as an adult, she tells her friend while buttering her favorite end crust of baked bread why it was her favorite part! It then dawned on her that she had been HAD BY MAMA YET AGAIN! She laughed and called me immediately!
I am loving your videos and you have totally inspired me. I am about to dive down the crazy quilt rabbit hole and found this amazing book “Stunning Stitches for Crazy Quilts” by Kathy Seaman Shaw.
heheheh blanket show, love it, me me giggle :) Love the weaving technique, must try that, and love that you managed to stitch while travelling. It's going to be so pretty, can't wait to see what comes next. Have you tried Manx quilting, I did a vid recently trying it for the first time, reckon that would fit right in with the other sides :)
Pattern idea...something more triangular. Using strips of the fabric, layer them to create a triangle from each one. To avoid dealing points, just layer in the illusion of the shape. Limit the base strips to say 5 [?] to give you the space to add all the lace and ribbons?
Welcome!!. The mat is a wool ironing mat. The patchwork industry uses them.. to iron their pieces..sold now at Spotlight in Australia. You should find it online! Corrine
I had pointed to a lady with a loose blouse over a big bulging belly and asked my mom about it. She told me, "that lady is carrying a baby." I spent the rest of the time in the store, trying to figure out HOW that lady was holding her baby up under her blouse! Not to mention, WHY she was carrying her baby that way!

A crazy quilt idea would also be nice. Or, as you said, squares with rough edges that are embroidered on around the inside quarter inch edge.
That would be cool!
Maybe circles. thank you for your tip of painting with cottons on the log cabin -. mine looks so much better. beautiful work today! have a good one
You are so welcome! Hmm circles..
Gorgeous!!! ❤
Thank you!! 😊 my friend

Log cabin is on my short list!
I was thinking of the log cabin in a shabby way, also collage work like we do for journaling. The panels are looking beautiful.
So many ideas! Head is spinning!
