I love how you enjoy traditional Khmer food. Most Khmer kids growing up in America don't even like eating traditional Khmer food at all. I'm glad that you are keeping the tradition alive.
I love your mom's recipes! I have a YT Channel myself and just added you guys to my "favorite channels." Your mom deserves more views! :)
Hi Ming! When u ready u put out side or in refrigerator? I try to make first time a few months ago it salty but it no good.

Thank you! Love it! My dear mother added diced galangal and long pieces of papaya. Whenever I ate pa ok I would always go for the sour crunchy papaya first. Yummy! Thank you so much for your videos. I love your Ma. :)
I finally made this after a long wait! Its really good. I thought it would stink after fermenting for so long but it didnt. I guess the salt and toasted rice helped it from smelling. Thx

I don't know if you take requests but does your mon have recipes for amok trei (fish) or kaw trei with catfish? I would love it you could share those recipes of she does.
Are you talking about the paste or the sauce itself? If its the sauce. Use a teaspoon of shrimp paste, a pinch or 2 of msg, as many dried crushed chili you want about 3x the amount of shrimp paste usually and add water. I find that it taste better if the dried chili is roasted and then crushed.
@Filmstudent yes they are. The best parts for this recipe too.
Now I can beat my mom version of this dish.. she be soo proud!
Looks like it tastes amazing..
Those ingredients are in our mam lahong tutorial.
Thank you so much. We appreciate it. Great channel btw!

U should describe how it tastes while you're eating, that makes the video more interesting lol
You can use any fish you prefer. You can also do this with other types of meats such as pork. We'll have a video on that later.
I make myself hungry lol.

+kol lonh To put it simply, don't.

Can you use fish eggs?
Can you any kind of fish?

Khmer foods are so delicious!
True Cambodian style
Once its ready to eat, refrigerate it. And you steam it for around 10 minutes in the bowl.
*mouth watering*
If I make this amount how long does it last?
Hi Berny, do you put this inside or on the window in the sun?
25 days for fermented?
my mouth is watering :`(
Inside the house away from sunlight.
I love you guys
The whole eating part was actually 10 minutes long. I cut it down to what you saw in the video lol.
You can do this without MSG. And, for many people who want to know why some people stay away from MSG is that over time, the accumulation of MSG in bone will cause the bone to become weaker. This will cause your bone to be fragile as you get older.
Can I use tilapia?
+Somaly You can. But it works best with fish belly meat.
It would be pretty strange but maybe haha.
Excellent with fresh red/green not peppers.
How much kilograms of salmon?
5lbs or 2.25 kilos
1 pound 1.5$ so 1 kilogram maybe 4$
I meant such a TEASE!
Oh man, the poor person that was video taping at the end while YOU were enjoying your meal!!!! Lol!! Ok next time. You must describe your eating experience. This video is such a trade at the end!

MSG makes everything taste better!!!
Notice that the spoon in the plate was not used. Im also often guilty of doing that.

Just don't use msg.
