Not gonna lie, I definitely felt this guy when he was like "$3 for 6.1 miles? Don't accept that, don't do it NOOOOO." 😂 You HAVE to be able to decline the shit orders and wait for the good ones. You should definitely be declining shitty orders. Honestly, no tip? No trip. It feels shitty to say but at the end of the day Doordash doesn't pay jack for most of these orders and they aren't worth it on DD pay alone. If someone doesn't wanna get up and get out of their house and go get their food, they can tip you for doing that work for them. Otherwise, decline it and move on, No skin off your back.
Ok this guy is wrong, or different states have different rules in the app...... I KNOW FOR SURE , they only do 2 weeks for the higher pay and its called , TOP DADHER , why did he not call it that ? Cuz he doesn't actually work these apps, he's only doing you tube on them . ALEX don't change due to him, your doing what you should ......now don't except $5 and under for 6 or 7 miles , but if you need to get your 100 for the month and its almost the 26th day of the month then take all of them, they check twice a month to make sure we qualify....... He didn't mention that either
Bro just chill out, a lot of the tips WERE helpful. There of corse will be things that work better in different places and sh*t like that, but Alex does clearly need to do *something* different 🤷

Not for real. I don't expect anything less than a dollar a mile and ever since I started doing that I've made way more than I used to when I was accepting everything and worried about my acceptance rating
Ok, after your first door dash, I signed up, ( Im off work due to injury) and I have taken EVERY dash and I live in a tiny town, so Im going to get $5 orders ..... And if its busy I make about $30 and hour , but if its slow ,I mean I get what I get
definitely depends on the area you’re dashing in. going to “richer” areas tends to lead to bigger tips, which is more pay. I’ve had days that are extremely slow and low pay days, and noticed it’s based on the area I’m in. not sure how different the app varies from state to state, but try different zones!
It depends heavily on the market. I have dashed in two areas. One is a better gig It isn't even the top area. But they all come with different pluses and minuses. I even tried taking all orders as an experiment. It came out ridiculously low in pay and high in mileage. You will learn discernment on the bottom you will accept, how much the market will bear per mile in that area and many other things. Like all things, it's a learning experience.
I feel ya pain bro... it took me on a drive all around the parishes and paid me only 35.00 ... but don't give up it'll get better if you stay on the grind
So I’m very much not a DoorDash driver but even I’ve noticed things this guy has said and I’m like “What”. Firstly, you should accept low orders. Because if you’re doing something like this, every order counts no matter what. When you grow up low-income like I have, you learn earning ANY kind of money is a win. ANY order counts. Doesn’t matter. Baby steps is how you grow. Secondly, the prices depend on the state you’re in and where you are in said state. Depending on the type of area you're in, that one order might be your one shot, if there’s competition or it’s an area with not many people. This guy has to realize that the US isn’t just one state, it’s fifty states, and we’re different from each other in many ways. This guy has clearly only stayed in one area. It’s like how TGI Fridays in NYC are different than those in the NYC suburbs. I went to one in NYC not too long ago and the prices were astronomical and I was like “WHY” but then I realize it’s the location. It’s NYC, rent has gone up, and so these locations in NYC have to pay said rent somehow.
Eh. Kinda. I mean, taking every call is how you stay low income, but yes, be aware that your area is probably different than Mike's area. Figure out what you need per hour to live and work towards that or more. If that's $10 per hour, sure, take those "$3.61 for 20 minute" runs. If it's $25 per hour you need to pay expenses, NO, it's costing you money to do the $3.61 run.
I just did door dash yesterday and made $85 in 3.5 hours. I don't agree with not accepting low orders. I accepted a $2.5 delivery order and got a $20 cash tip. You never know.
Yep it’s so true sometimes you don’t have as much in your account to pay the fees pay for your food AnD tip, I usually tip way more at my door, if they don’t run off before I catch them
Ask Mike to get free access to his course so you can make part 2 after his knowledge. He could then make a follow up video on your part 2. This will get you both more exposure, you a free course, and him some great advertising.
If you constantly dash, you’ll get better orders. People who complain about the pay either had some bad days or the market isn’t established enough for app deliveries. Right now my area is in need of dashers that DD even posting job positions for a dasher so I’d say my area is pretty good right now. I do 3x12 shifts and add an extra 4 hour shift another day to cap 40 hours of work week.
Watching Alex’s other videos, it seems like a lot of the problem is how far he lives from city/towns and also how small those city/towns are. I’m in New Orleans and there are restaurants and food EVERYWHERE so it’s easy to jet around.
No way! I just noticed the colour of your Tesla is the same colour of the uber I got into in Australia this week! I just commented about it in one of your other videos tonight but only got a glimpse of the colour of yours in this video. Such a coincidence! 🚙💙
Alex, his overview of your upload was fair w/really good tips. I like the idea of making another video using his advice, go for it! ❤ also, pack your lunch and pee in a bottle, bro 😂
Doordash REALLY depends on where you live, among other things. My husband was a dasher for a while and in logan UT it's good money cuz it's a small city that's close together and has a lot of orders. Tucson AZ on the other hand is big but extremely spread out so its hard to get orders and when you do it's not even worth the drive. And where we live now is too rural to even get orders at all.
Yeah location has a huge impact! I live in a small but busy military town and we’ve only had doordash available here for a couple years, and for long time we only had two different guys picking up orders from my work. I remember during 2020 trying to order it and my order always getting cancelled cause there was no drivers lol. We just have tons of rural towns and it’s only recently started to pick up.
Depends on where you live, where I live in Florida I can do about 75 in a 4 hour shift. There's a lot of miles between where people live and where the food is.
He has half a mill subs, drives a Tesla and judging by his place, it looks like he's living well off. He's making too much to care about these little, "hustles" like the average person doing them. It's just content for him. Right? I've never watched anything by this dude before.. but.. Assuming he streams gameplay or something as well? Or just delivery gigs? Idk.
I live in a city (in a small suburban type area in a city). I probably doordash at least a couple times per month, and always tip $10. I typically use doordash after 6 PM to as late as 3 AM. I've never used doordash for breakfast lol. Sometimes I only doordash because it's too late at night for Domino's to deliver- Dominos delivery is cheaper than doordash. Maybe some of that will apply to your area? ETA; I also noticed that a couple dashers take my orders way more often than others. One I'm most familiar with has been available as early as 7 PM and as late as 1 AM.
Door dash will always try to waste your time. My acceptance rating went from 80% to lately 33% because they keep sending me the worst orders. I got one yesterday 3.00 for 8.5 miles.. how the hell to they think that's gonna work? I get those a lot and on top of that, of the fast food areas are having problems with staff so it's drive through only and the lines are an hour long wait. I am taking the day off hoping that some of these restaurants find workers but basically all the regular fast food places like Taco bell, Wendy's, zaxbys, Popeyes and long John silver are a no go. Oh and Chipotle.. and last night I got stuck at chillis and pappa Johns for 55 minutes after my shift ended so I didn't get paid for an entire hour Andy shift ended an hour before I finished... yeah I need a break...
The fast food places are awful. Anything that isn’t, like, a higher quality fast food restaurant is going to be an absolute headache. I have never ordered and not had it been screwed up. It’s ridiculous.
My acceptance rate hovers around 41% and I still get mad business so don't worry too much about acceptance rate. Just did $100 in 4.5 hours yesterday. Acceptance rate is so low because 1: I'm picky about taking orders that are worth it and 2: there is a Wendy's on a naval base a mile away from my house and I have to decline about 15 orders from them every single dash.
Idk if I'm delirious from painting my house this week or what but these last few vids have had me fucking crying laughing😂 plz continue showing us ur fantastically absurd life. Can't wait to see more outdoor vids!!
Funny how he keeps claiming it’s because you’re accepting all of the orders, but your rating goes down if you decline orders, also you have to accept at least 75% of all orders you get. It’s not just anytime you want to cancel you can!
Mike's $1.75 per mile is a stretch in some markets. I go by two rules: 1. $6 minimum without peak pay per order, 2. About $1.50 per mile. Its very market dependent. Also, Mike's videos have too many "please comment below" in them. Did he ask you if he could make a video on yours?
"Commentary" is protected under fair use. He doesn't have to ask, as long as he is adding input and not just reuploading the video claiming he made it.
$1.75 is honestly low compared to the other costs that a car requires that isnt gas and oil. Wheel bearing changes, New coils and plugs when applicable, new tires, replacing fuses, even sometimes replacing suspension parts, and at the worst, needing to open the engine to replace something.
my thinking behind it is the write-offs for personal vehicle usage is really high. It's something like 62 cents per mile or something, which drastically decreased your taxable income to make up for wear and tear
Most popular RUclipsrs live near big cities or in them. Small towns/cities don't provide good DoorDash money. My city and the town right next to it is one single zone. The next closest zone is 20 miles away. I used to work 10am to 2:00pm Monday through Friday. Never made more than $50 a shift. I averaged between $25 to $35. If I work 11am to 3pm and then 5pm to 11pm on a Saturday. That usually makes me between $80 and $110 that day. My average order I get I'd say is between 3 to 6 dollars and about 2 to 6 miles total round trip. It's extremely rare for me to even receive a single order above $10 dollars. Sometimes I'll wait up to an hour or more to receive just one order. So I'll be waiting for another order at 12:10pm, decline a $2.32 order for 7 miles out town at 12: 26pm, then get a $4.84 order from McDonalds at 1:03pm, 2 mile roundtrip. My acceptance rate is currently 58%.
😂I love Mike. I’ve learned so much from him. I laughed at your reaction video. I thinking at the end you said you’d do another doordash video and follow his “tips” $1.75 per mile ect. I’m going to subscribe but I need you to do this video to see how your day goes. I follow his “tips” almost always (unless it’s a super slow time) and I always end up with over $20 per hr. Not in a “hot” market (when I spend the day in a hot market it’s always over $30 per hr.) And sorry I like his backdrop best (yours has more things to catch my eye) in his backdrop I only concentrate at what he is saying cause I can’t see anything besides walls and lights) well you asked lol😂
I want take anything under 1.50 a mile. 8 have a 48% acceptance rate. O5 does not matter they will keep you running where I live with turning down these small orders.
@iatealready if your doing DD as a side gig or part time work to make some extra money or pay some small bills then it is pretty lucrative. Full time will be more challenging and your better off getting a regular day job.
Sounds like this guy lives in the city ... he's speaking from a city person perspective. If someone just offered me 4 bucks to go drive into town and get them something I would do it... and driving to town here is about 6 miles for me and for us here thats nothin. I was about to work doordash but then the pandora happened and i stopped working delivery at all anymore. I worked one called Favor here for years which is basically exactly like DoorDash and it was perfect for me cuz i could schedule it as I liked and didn't have to deal with standing on hard floors all day. This job is for certain kinds of people.... its not always about making the most money. It's the most anxiety free and chill job i've ever did. There are a lot of work at home online jobs available now so I probably won't go back to delivery again cuz of that but I do miss it!
I love the reaction video I subscribed to you cuz I'm his subscriber love that you willing to learn and you're funny and I enjoy your video so I'll be watching you for now on❤
Im very picky with my Orders atleast $1.50 per Mile nothing less then $6.00. I have a 31% rate. I worked 28 Hours this weekend. I spent $90 in Gas and cashed out $340... 😢
Raleigh gang! I've done some DD here, only in the evenings in the areas where they do the incentive pay. Made $50 in 2.5 hours split into two nights, decided to stick with amazon flex when they do the shift differential pay. 10/10
Yea it took them forever to send me a hot bag too. It says whenever you hit I dunno 20 deliveries or something they send you a welcome kit but might be wrong about that, could be the 1st delivery but either way I was past 150 deliveries and didn't hear anything so I had to get a hold of doordash n they said they would send it. Weeks later nothing. Contacted them again and they said something happened and it didn't get shipped but finally got it. Pretty wierd
I like your setup more because its more realistic. There arent many people in general who like different colored lighting like that in their houses. Its definitely to make it look nicer for the video. And this is coming from someone who has multiple sets of LED's to make their room glow a different color sometimes. Yours is much more of a realistic home vibe, reminds me of a classic youtuber moreover and it just appeals to me more. Cant knock too hard on the other guys setup though. That lighting is really nice.
i did my first Doordash last night and did 2 trips in an hour and went a total of 17 miles and made $29.52 in one hour! i can’t wait to do more today, i’m loving it already and the freedom to chose and decline orders!
Definitely watch some videos about doing taxes as a dd driver! Stride helps keep track of my gas usage and deductions. It is amazing help honestly to not have to try and remember receipts and such too.
Yeah, for 50$ in a day that's less than federal minimum wage right? Assuming an 8hr day, and without accounting for cost of gas or wear and tear on vehicle. You would have to have really strong reasons to not take other available jobs for that to be a reasonable option imo.
if every doordash experience went like my first, yeah. it was 6 hours for $50 which is just over min wage. the app claims you can make over $20/hr while mike says $25, so i'll give it another shot soon!
Doordash and all of those services are not designed to be good for the driver. They're designed to make customers happy and that's all that really matters to those companies. Less people use these services every day because having to leave a 5 or 10 dollar tip minimum before the driver accepts isn't something people like. There was a price listed but unless you get bribed enough it's just screw that order. These services suck.
With Door Dash, if your acceptance rate & customer ratings are high & you've done 100 orders, you get prioritized for the higher paying orders. Not accepting orders & your acceptance rate falls below a certain %, you get kicked off. I make $100 barely working in a small town
My other advice is to stick with one area. Learn which restaurants take too long. I don’t deliver to Hospitals the drop off is too long. I don’t go to restaurants without adequate parking. I don’t park like an asshole in view zones blocking other people in. Being a doordasher isn’t a license to be an asshole and park illegal
I'm with you on the struggle to make a meesly 50 bucks a shift. These people who claim can make hundreds a day live in a busy city. I have dashed all over the country and unless you live in a city of 300k population or above, you struggle to make any kind of money. $50 a day minus gas means your making less than 3 to 5 an hour.
I’ve been on and off with DoorDash for 5 years. This is pretty good advice. Depending on your car and market, top dasher might be worth it but in a lot of cases it is not.
The more DoorDash orders you do the more chances you get tips. If you focus on just the base amount the app gives you then you're actually not doing enough. I've gotten a couple $10 tips after a few orders and that's like 4 $5 tips. Meaning if u just do 5 deliveries you're not gonna make money. Do at least 10 deliveries and there's a chance you'll make $100. Even if you take the first $3 one that came in.
people are realizing how great NC and i want people to stop moving here :( lol - I love the entire state but particularly the triangle. i was born here, moved around a lot, but always made sure the triangle was easy access. really my only complaint is that the population is rising. but on the flip side, more people means more opportunities
You only need 80% completion rate btw, if the pickup ain’t worth it then just cancel and go to a faster pickup, also it doesn’t affect your acceptance rate to cancel an order, you can also use your 20 out of ever 100 orders to get tons of free food😈 just don’t mark you arrived at store, look at name, pick it up and cancel after you leave, but only do it to rude restaurants
As far as miles per pay average is concerned, that really depends on where you are. If you live in a more rural area you are probably going to have to drive farther per any target you want to set.
Ooohhh... I live near you! I rarely found RUclipsr's that live near me in NC!!! Raleigh is a good place to be doing all that! I bet you do stay busy!!!

I totally feel this tbh
I always give max tip or more for that reason.
@@magickaldust1213 probably working the wrong days and hours or a bad market. Also for any DRIVING job whether if it’s doordash driver, delivery, truck driver, bus driver etc. it’s good to know the roads in your area and places to avoid traffic and rush hourzz
Not for real. I don't expect anything less than a dollar a mile and ever since I started doing that I've made way more than I used to when I was accepting everything and worried about my acceptance rating
It's base pay.
Your setup is better. The weird colored lights make it look like the other guy's trapped in a mystical fairy castle or something.
Ok, after your first door dash, I signed up, ( Im off work due to injury) and I have taken EVERY dash and I live in a tiny town, so Im going to get $5 orders ..... And if its busy I make about $30 and hour , but if its slow ,I mean I get what I get
Alex, I'm loving these side quest videos. For real, I never watched the unboxings all that much but these are just so entertaining.
thanks!
I think he did great. This was a learning experience and I’m 100% sure you gain something out of it.
definitely depends on the area you’re dashing in. going to “richer” areas tends to lead to bigger tips, which is more pay. I’ve had days that are extremely slow and low pay days, and noticed it’s based on the area I’m in. not sure how different the app varies from state to state, but try different zones!
I very rarely have things like doordash or groceries delivered, but because of your videos I tip so much more than I used to.
I do the same exact thing, first order on whatever app i start on. I just accept as a “start the day” reason
Impressed with how well you rolled with the good-natured roasting. You normally see a really salty response with these but this is a welcome change.
Fuck that. Not in it for charity work. It has to be profitable
I’m excited for the video using Mike’s knowledge, I’ve been waiting for part 2!!
I will say Ive never seen Mike actually driving.
can't deny enjoying his light set up xD
I mean a part 2 following Mike's "advice" would make for an interesting video. Regardless if his statistics work for your area or not.
oooo that's a good idea!
Doesn't the prices change depending on the state and where you live within that state? I'm confused, what point its mike trying to make? lol
Mike is just trying to sound smart so you will buy his products and his courses
@@logans.6498 lol, that explains it😂
I half expected him to say don't drink tea or coffee to cut back on needing to use the bathroom. Lol. Like how serious could this get?
Bro what is that dude on about, judging someone doing their job is just shitty
Depends on where you live, where I live in Florida I can do about 75 in a 4 hour shift. There's a lot of miles between where people live and where the food is.
I have only 100 dashes but I now only take $1.50 per mile and don’t take one if it’s under $5. U should try it you’ll see much bigger profits! 😁😁
Idk.
That's what I was thinking.
Good on you Alex for taking the criticism and admitting you need to change a few things. Good luck on your DoorDashing!
"your side hussle should make you $25 an hour" like dude isn't the US like 7.25 for average minimum wage those are high expectations in a shit market.
Where i live about 80% of the DoorDash orders do not come with a tip, and no they do not tip later.
Funny how he keeps claiming it’s because you’re accepting all of the orders, but your rating goes down if you decline orders, also you have to accept at least 75% of all orders you get. It’s not just anytime you want to cancel you can!
I mean...his living room looks SO staged, it looks great! However, your setup looks... lived-in and comfortable. I like yours.
I have to say the dude's room setup with 40 RGB lights is a bit overdone, meanwhile you have *stylish lamps*
@@GoHerping that makes a lot of sense honestly
I like your living room more, it looks more like a home than his. His looks like an office waiting room
Wholesome reaction content ❤
😂I love Mike. I’ve learned so much from him. I laughed at your reaction video. I thinking at the end you said you’d do another doordash video and follow his “tips” $1.75 per mile ect. I’m going to subscribe but I need you to do this video to see how your day goes.
I follow his “tips” almost always (unless it’s a super slow time) and I always end up with over $20 per hr. Not in a “hot” market (when I spend the day in a hot market it’s always over $30 per hr.)
And sorry I like his backdrop best (yours has more things to catch my eye) in his backdrop I only concentrate at what he is saying cause I can’t see anything besides walls and lights) well you asked lol😂
I'll record it this week! should be fun
in my area there are so many dashers that if you get below 70% you are at risk for not being a dasher anymore
I want take anything under 1.50 a mile. 8 have a 48% acceptance rate. O5 does not matter they will keep you running where I live with turning down these small orders.
Great stuff!
I struggled making 30 bucks in 4 hours doing doordash. You ain't alone homie 🤣
@iatealready if your doing DD as a side gig or part time work to make some extra money or pay some small bills then it is pretty lucrative. Full time will be more challenging and your better off getting a regular day job.
At that price your better off with a part time job
I enjoy your vlogs. You're like a calm real person rather than a fake flashy chad. Being judged by a chad is not worth it.
I do like the way your house's background looks in your video, instead of his. But his looks more comfy and less arranged, even though it clearly is.
This is so meta. I really hope he makes a reaction video of him reacting to your reaction of his reaction to your original vid
Exactly! Doing it in a smaller town is brutal.
I love the reaction video I subscribed to you cuz I'm his subscriber love that you willing to learn and you're funny and I enjoy your video so I'll be watching you for now on❤
Your living room looks cozier. 👍
I like your living room better, his reminds me of the inside of a 5 gallon beta tank with neon plants and gravel
lolol
Im very picky with my Orders atleast $1.50 per Mile nothing less then $6.00. I have a 31% rate. I worked 28 Hours this weekend. I spent $90 in Gas and cashed out $340... 😢
Raleigh gang! I've done some DD here, only in the evenings in the areas where they do the incentive pay. Made $50 in 2.5 hours split into two nights, decided to stick with amazon flex when they do the shift differential pay. 10/10
Hey Alex, just wanted to say I love ur videos !
Hi neighbor! Fayetteville dasher here!
I watch your part 2 that you learn from Mike looking forward to it this was fun❤
Is that a pyrocynical plus in the backround?? Based
I like your setup more because its more realistic.
Before you factor gas, 4 hours to $50 that rate is $100 to 8 hours. My average on DD was like $20 a hour. This dude hurts my brain...
The reason i suspect you do the small orders is for proof of concept and confidence. Every test has a learn , do and grade phase
He just trying to give you some game youngster. Soak it up 👍💯😎
My other advice is to stick with one area.
Thank you!
I’ve been on and off with DoorDash for 5 years. This is pretty good advice. Depending on your car and market, top dasher might be worth it but in a lot of cases it is not.
Your room looks way better the lighting is way better
The more DoorDash orders you do the more chances you get tips. If you focus on just the base amount the app gives you then you're actually not doing enough. I've gotten a couple $10 tips after a few orders and that's like 4 $5 tips. Meaning if u just do 5 deliveries you're not gonna make money. Do at least 10 deliveries and there's a chance you'll make $100. Even if you take the first $3 one that came in.
Super interesting to hear about. How is Raleigh as a place to live (and work)? Thinking of moving to NC from FL.
people are realizing how great NC and i want people to stop moving here :( lol - I love the entire state but particularly the triangle. i was born here, moved around a lot, but always made sure the triangle was easy access. really my only complaint is that the population is rising. but on the flip side, more people means more opportunities
People are so mean. Don't try to defend yourself against a hater. He could of made his video without mentioning your channel.
As long as no one blames customers for not tipping, because tipping is a donation, not a responsibility.
You're one of them
You only need 80% completion rate btw, if the pickup ain’t worth it then just cancel and go to a faster pickup, also it doesn’t affect your acceptance rate to cancel an order, you can also use your 20 out of ever 100 orders to get tons of free food😈 just don’t mark you arrived at store, look at name, pick it up and cancel after you leave, but only do it to rude restaurants
Or orders that don’t tip and pay super low
As far as miles per pay average is concerned, that really depends on where you are. If you live in a more rural area you are probably going to have to drive farther per any target you want to set.
Hah! You got some free tips specific to your situation 😄 A part 2 implementing the advice to see how sound it is (or not 👀) would be interesting!
Omg no way he did that 😭 I like your living room more
😂😂💀💀 don’t give up Alex 💀
Ooohhh... I live near you! I rarely found RUclipsr's that live near me in NC!!! Raleigh is a good place to be doing all that! I bet you do stay busy!!!
