I’m British and I live in Florida, been here 10 years now, love it. You can choose a state and if you don’t like it, try another. There is so much to see and do here, politics are a little crazy but I don’t think I would move back to the UK now.

Cali, Texas and Florida-I've lived in all three. All great places. We are planning on moving as soon as my husband's contract it up. We are deciding between Cali and florida. The only reason we took off Tx as an option was because of the entertainment aspect. California and Florida have endless things to do.💖
Blake chatting away is SO cute!! We lived in the Highlands for a couple of months (my bf from is Inverness) and whilst absolutely stunning and I am so grateful for my time there…. The weather is such a challenge. I have a big craving for America too!! 🇺🇸 Have you thought about trying beach bum life somewhere in Europe, just to give it a go? And it’s not too far from home. I only say that because I was craving island life for SO long and when I tried it in Mauritius, I realised it wasn’t the life for me 😅 But it’s always good to try these things! Xxx
I completely relate to what you’re saying, Steph. I think it’s part of getting older and worrying that you aren’t achieving everything you want to in life. I just turned 33 which has made me worry that my life is too monotonous and that I need some more adventure! This age came so quickly and thus 40 and 50 will too! If you can do it, I reckon you definitely should! Xx
girl you would LOVE australia. the weather is immaculate, there's good fitness culture and so many outdoorsy things to do. and trust me, the spiders and snakes thing is a complete exaggeration - as long as you're not living out in the bush, you'll be fine 😂
Lots of thoughts on moving to the states lol I'm a US expat, and whenever I visit I'm reminded how wild it is politically and financially... maybe not so far off from the current state of the UK though, from what I hear? 🤷♀️ I wouldn't want to live in most parts of FL and TX... and unfortunately CA is crazy expensive. A beach town/city in the Carolinas would probably be a great place to stay! It's beautiful there, people have always been really friendly in my experience, lower cost of living (respectively, comparing across the states), not as touristy, and you'll still get the southern heat 🌞 It also keeps you guys on the east coast, so you're a little more accessible for visiting home/having family and friends come to visit! It makes sense to try to make this experience happen before Blake is in school. Could you just try it for a couple of months? If your partner can take a leave of absence and you can spend just under 3 months in the states so you don't need a visa, then if you really love it you can work on moving there for a longer window? Best of luck on this possible adventure!
I am in the same boat. Maybe it's just the Scottish weather dragging us down 🤔😅 always questioning why I used such a huge chuck of money for a deposit for a house instead of moving somewhere else
Girl, majority of Florida is trash 😂 A lot of old people and a lot of crazy people hahaha Cali can be nice but only if you are wealthy. I live in a coastal beach town in North Carolina and it’s okay. A little small and the beach get old. Personally, I prefer the west coast. I use to live in Scottsdale Arizona and I’ll be heading back there in October. ❤

I feel like you’d enjoy the Carolinas, plenty of fun beach towns along the coast and depending on where you go there’s a range of affordability
