- Danganronpa has a total of 17 culprits… but not all of them are evi. Some of these culprits genuinely regret their awful crime. And thats what this video is about: Which culprit truly regretted their crime the most. Wether it’s self defense- a forced crime or an accidental one. Atleast one of them genuinely regrets their crime.

Wow so funny never seen that joke before
Honestly for how much they meme him I feel bad for Leon he killed just to protect himself and Gonta only killed to save everyone from suffering also Kaede getting framed was just a heartless move by Tsumugi
Yeah agreed
I mean Leon could’ve just left after Sayaka ran to the bathroom but he didn’t, he continued to unlock the door and kill her when at that point she was vulnerable so I dont know
@@azkayla504 But think about this right Sayaka could of possibly gone to kill someone else or worse to silence him try and kill Leon again it was a lose-lose scenario basically
It was mentioned in the video, @@azkayla504. He had no choice. Sayaka could ruin his reputation, kill someone else or, which was the worst, try to kill again. After all, it is not him who did this plan with switching room, but Sayaka. She could kill anyone, but Leon stopped her
I CAN'T... WHY ARE LEON FANS SO DELUSIONAL... He had no reason to kill sayaka stop the dumb excuses like "B-but sayaka would kill again" how would that even work be serious. She'd be caught
I feel so bad for Kaede, Gonta, Kaito and Leon. They didn't deserve to die. Plus, Leon and Kaede could've had so much potential too.
Poor Leon. Everyone portrays Sayaka as this innocent cute UwU girl, when she made Leon to murder in self-defence.
And another half of the fandom Sayaka as a snake so
@@monkeybashplush well she does slither on her stomach so...
I kid (well mostly)
seriously she is no innocent and I wish people would stop putting her on a pedestal as a "wholesome" character that is our sweet boy Chihiro.
Except Leon had the choice to walk away. Bro went to his room, got his toolkit, went back, broke into the bathroom, and stabbed her. Not self defense anymore.
@JohanSaihara Keep in mind that if Leon let Sayaka live, then he would have to essentially live with someone who tried to kill him, and if Leon told the others that Sayaka tried to kill him, they probably wouldn't believe him, especially if Sayaka decides to lie and get Leon in trouble. Do you think that they would believe that a meek and timid innocent looking popstar tried to lure and kill someone? I wouldn't be taking my chances either.
@kittybomb1602 Right, not to mention, you simply shouldn't expect Leon to give a shit about the life of a person who clearly didn't value his enough to let him live. Also, it seems like he was a targeted victim as well. Who says she won't try it again?
gonta didnt regret his crime, his alter ego said it himself. mondo was the ONLY one who said out loud he wanted to come back in time to undo what he had done.
Ehh, didn't his after ego and gonta himself are different, cause I'm pretty sure monokuma said they thinks differently
*Mondo after going to all that effort to switch the crime scene so that Chihiro's secret wasn't revealed*
Byakuya:
Imagine if, in v3, kokichi did everything the exact same way, but this time, Kaito waited long enough for the poison to take effect and kill kokichi before crushing him, which would’ve marked maki as the culprit. Then, monokuma would guess the culprit as Kaito, which would’ve been wrong
but in danganronpa 2 monokuma knew nagito died from poison and not the spear and knew chiaki was the one who did it
@@Michaelw34He knew it because it took place in a virtual world, V3 Monokuma relied on cameras to know the culprits.
In Leon's case despite the manga not being canon it built off his character and Sayaka's character but in the manga Leon went back to Sayaka's room to help her with her wrist Sayaka in a mantic state thought he came back to kill her.
And in the end he either accidentally stabbed her trying to get the knife away from her or she accidentally stabbed herself.
He wasn't able to communicate that in trial in the manga due to finding out bout the rules he didn't read because he didn't intend to kill.
It's something I think about alot we all go off speculation based off the characters reactions to trial one Celestia saying he went back when he could have just left her.
With how Kiragiri says that maybe leaving the name was Sayaka's last attempt to help Makoto. Or how Makoto thinks highly of Sayaka. We don't get Leon or Sayaka's pov.
We never truly get to see their mindset in that. Unlike Celestia who basically tells you and Mondo who explains his reasoning. We even get a flashback from Mondo pov from his conversation with Chihiro.
But that's why I like the manga despite not being canon it built upon trial 1 and makes you think how the case might have played out differently then what Kiragiri and Makoto's theory was.
Canon or not I just think it adds to both Leon and Sayaka's character sense I know both of them are the jokes in the fandom.
if she died due to him trying to get the knife off her, it makes her far worse in my opinion
@@andrewshearsby8125that doesn't make any sense tbh
The rules of the trials end punishments were revealed after Sayaka died. The Manga isn't even canon to the story of the game so it doesn't really matter.
@@Alexandra_Westheart in the manga she killed herself and blamed Leon
@@Alexandra_Westheart in manga it's up for interpretation if she ended up stabbing herself in her panic or Leon accidently did. But how the trials work shown from v3 is the mastermind has to see the murder on camera to confirm who killed. In Kaito and Kokichi case they don't. In the bathroom where Leon and Sayaka were there's no camera. Meaning in the manga version even if not canon there's a chance Leon didn't kill her and is blaming himself because he doesn't know who did the final blow in the struggle for the knife.
Also to add to this Sayaka writing his name would make more sense if Leon wasn't there say he ran out in a panic. The only thing on the camera would see is Leon leaving and Sayaka bleeding out. He shut the door upon leaving so maybe she wrote his name when he left even if he doesn't understand English he could have seen a dying message being written and stop her but he didn't.
My comment us just stating based off the manga canon or not it gave both Leon and Sayaka more to there trial and case then the game does.
Leon's case still breaks my heart every time...
First, monokuma didn't explain the rules fully until AFTER Sayaka died. Secondly, either he could kill her and try to hide the evidence, or he could've kept her alive, either risking her coming after other people, leon himself again, or she could manipulate everyone there into thinking he was the bad guy, making everyone distrust leon and potentially someone else would come after him.
Yeah, leon did kinda set himself up for failure by going into some random strangers room at 2am after monokuma literally said several times that they were in a killing game, and they needed to kill each other to get out. That and he could have stopped after sayaka locked herself inside the bathroom...
But Leon likely wasn't thinking straight due to Sayaka literally attempting to kill him.
Whether he killed her to protect himself, everyone else, or to try and get out of the killing game himself is up for interpretation, but it was really a lose-lose situation for leon no matter what he did.
It just breaks me because at least everyone else knew the rules and knew they were being executed if they failed to get away with killing someone.
All Leon and Sayaka were told was literally to kill someone and get away with it. They weren't told about trials at all and were vaguely hinted about being executed should they fail. Those two made their decisions with the lack of information they were given mixed with being desperate to leave, resulting in both of their deaths...
Leon's hurting more because, honestly, i probably would have made the same move if i was in his place.
I separe Mikan from Despair Mikan, something similar to Genocider Syo and Toko, one can feel remorse by the murder and the other don't. Despair Mikan can do anything without feeling bad while Mikan is Mikan, Mikan will feel guilty and like a piece of sh*t even for things that aren't related to her or that aren't her fault
And yeah, you've partially made Hiyoko sound like if she isn't that bad person
I feel bad for Leon. He was stuck between a rock and a hard place
I hate how everyone hates leon for killing sayaka when she was literally trying to kill him he had to kill her to protect himself and keep her quiet
or if some take a manga adaptationas fact, she might've killed herself when he tried to get the knife off her so he is even more innocent than her.
True. Leon did have the option to remain in his room after breaking Sayaka’s wrist, and with the possibility of suicide, if that happened, Leon would still be alive since abiding by the rules, Sayaka would have been the blackened remembering when Sakura killed herself, no one in the trial was executed, not counting the AI as a living person, since Makoto and Kiyoko would have easily figured out that he’s innocent like Makoto
He killed her because he saw an opportunity, not to protect himself.
@@andrewshearsby8125it's not canon to the story of the game
@@Alexandra_Westheart depends who you ask.
Point is she is no innocent
It's a shame the first executed of each game are now seen as memes whit this context behind
it's just the fandom lol
3:46 it made me remember about the "a thousand die while a million are born!" Frase that is said by the protagonist of persona 4
6:11 I GOT MURDER ON MY MIND AK-47
Okay but i feel like people are often forgetting that leon actually wasnt aware pf the class trial and i geniualy belived he would havr spared her if he knew what was going to happen
8:56
What do you mean when she realized shuichi could not reach the truth???
He found out that shes the culprit around a quarter-third to the trial
He meant the truth about who the mastermind was, not necessarily the blackened.
I'm pretty sure Shuichi found out early on that she was the culprit. He didn't say anything because he was afraid to face the truth
@@newbiegamelover4767 That makes no sense.
Kaede didn't know who the mastermind is, that truth is her being the culprit which he knew
@@Bolonez2 The truth she was looking for was who the mastermind is. That was the whole point of her going through the trial. Remember, Monokuma offered to let the blackened escape without a trial for the first motive; aka the First Blood Perk. But because Kaede wanted everyone to escape, she refused to take the offer in hopes of using the class trial to find the mastermind.
Because she couldn't find *that* truth, she was forced to give up and let Shuichi reveal *her* truth so nobody else besides her would die.
People are saying Kaede and Leon didn’t deserve it but Mondo Suffered a lot, he’s the only one who i think attucally does “I wanna take it back” amazingly
6:27 BAKAYUKA????? 😭😭😭😭😭😭
It translates to "They went up" lol 😂😂😂
For those saying “Leon shouldn’t have died” he had like one or more chances to just walk out but no, he finished her off.
But then he would've had to live with someone who tried to kill him. Who's to say Sayaka wouldn't have tried to kill again?
@@mello_lu because Sayaka isn't stupid to try it again and had time to calm down and think about her actions
@@Alexandra_Westheart She could have also swapped the story around to make Leon look like a bad guy and someone would have tried to kill him.
I still believe in Gonta
we all do
I'm not defending Sayaka, she's the reason for the first death, but we need to clear up one thing. Leon is NOT innocent, he broke the lock, he went in to finish the kill, he did not HAVE to kill her, he could've alerted people, he could've tried going back to sleep, he could have done literally anything else, but CHOSE to go back to his dorm, then COME BACK TO SAYAKA AND MURDER HER. That's not self defense, but Sayaka is not innocent. He murdered her, she drove him to it.
I'd also like to note, he could've told people about her murder attempt
I’m a huge fan I love ur vids❤
Leon :(
I feel for Leon, while killing Sayaka was wrong she did strike first with the failed murder attempt, the slimy snake that she is (And no this does not mean I defend the other back stabbers)
Sayaka isn't a Snake. She only needed to get out because she saw her motive and she never knew about the class trials.
@@Alexandra_Westheart she plotted a murder and a frame up, not an excuse at all Makoto has his love ones and he didn't plot a murder.
And not knowing the full rules is not an excuse for what she did
@@andrewshearsby8125 It is since if Sayaka knew she about it, she wouldn't have done it. Also if you knew her backstory you would probably understand her actions better.
@@Alexandra_Westheart Her actions are still inexcusable plotting a Murder and a frame up are terrible acts, so what if she didn't know the full rules? and sure her back story sucks but so does the Warriors of Hope from UDG
I am a Leon Stan, but this Sayaka slander breaks my heart. If it wasn't for Junko, Sayaka would never have killed Leon. Celeste was much more selfish in her motivation, and is without a doubt the least justified in her murder. Koreyiko and Mikan follow her, mainly due to some sort of insanity. Everyone else's motives were more nuanced.
*sat is there laughing like an anime villain after killing kokichi*
It annoys me that they removed the part where, I think it was Celeste, tells Leon after 0:00 that he would have had time to stop and that he was safe when he went back to his room to get the tool kit, in the anime.
1:56 NAH YOU DID NOT JUST DO MY POOKIE LIKE THAT-
WHY AIN'T ANYBODY TAKING ABOUT MONDO?? 😭
Real. Lets talk about mondo i love him
@@adaon2282 I LOVE MONDO TOO 😭
I disagree with you on Leon since Sayaka Maizono's murder wasn't self defense since he chooses to go back, grab this tool kit, break in the bathroom and kill her. You even said he chose to kill her. However, neither Sayaka and Leon didn't know about the class trials and execution rule since it was revealed after the first victim was discovered. They are not bad people and they wouldn't have done what they did if they knew what was going to happen. I exclude the people that decided to kill despite knowing the rules.
the thing about sayaka i don't think she'd be stupid enough to pull something like that twice if she lived also noone would trust her again after something like that to be alone with her plus there's also the case of her broken wrist
They regretted their crime because they were about to die

i kinda wanna disagree on leon. after all, he decided to LEAVE the room, grab his tools to then RETURN and murder her. he coudlve just stayed in his room while he was already there. so i dont think he regretted it that much. but thats my pov on this :D
I agree with you
Well, I mean, if Leon didn't kill Sayaka, she would've come back tried to kill Leon knowing how desperate she was. Cause:
We know Sayaka tried to kill because she wanted to save her idol group, but if Leon told everyone that she tried to kill him, Sayaka would get a bad reputation around her classmates and she would get kicked out of her group and go to jail, meaning her career she love the most would ruin just like that (In Sayaka"s pov), so in order to save her group and also to keep leon shut his mouth, she TOTALLY would tried to kill Leon again after she got out of the bathroom
And in Leon's pov:
If he told everyone that Sayaka tried to kill him, no one would believe him cause almost everyone there is a fan of her and sayaka was the one that got injured while leon was not. His "baseball player" career would get ruined too and he can't never be a musician he wants if he got a "attempted murdering a popular idol" record, everyone would despite him. So in order to SAVE and DEFENSE himself from all of that happening, he must kill sayaka before she manipulate the whole situation
Celestia was so funny when she was upset 😭
