  • X-Ray and MRI both use energy but x-ray imaging is ionizing radiation. In other words, it delivers much more energy into the body than an MRI. This high-frequency energy causes atoms or molecules to gain or lose electrons. This can damage a cell.

Hey Posture Doctor! I know this is not your exact specialty, but I had an MRI done yesterday on my shoulder. My physician told me that he believes I have rotator cuff tendinitis, but wanted an MRI to see if there were any tears. I received a copy of my MRI, and tried to diagnosis myself. I believe that I do in fact have a rotator cuff tear. However, my doctor does not have any available appointments to look at my MRI for another 6 weeks. Is there any way that you could look at one of the pictures on my MRI just for your opinion??? I know it's impossible to diagnosis online, but I am very desperate!
