Love this. My grandparents lived at Addison and Damen and in the 1970s and '80s my grandma (who never learned to drive) would take my brother and me for train rides, just for fun, from Addison down around the loop and back to Addison. Great memories. Thanks for sharing all of these great time-lapse videos of the routes.
This must’ve been recorded either around the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014. Because the 2600s were still running on the red and purple lines, and the 2400s were still running on the purple line (when this video was posted, the 2400s were already retired from service).
instead of the dance music, can't we have the music from the rails? That clickety-clak from Addison to Adams downtown...loved going there every day all those years for work & school.
Actually, you can slow the vid replay in youtube, click the gear in the lower right and choose the timing it will sound right and feel right but the music needs to go.
If they tried to speed up the real-life sounds it wouldn't sound good. The Real-Time videos have real-life sounds: ruclips.net/video/fJzhNPKtR0Q/видео.html
So with 2 stub tunnels on the Blue Line and the Circle Line, this should maybe go underground into the subway and then under the Franklin Ave. Subway that the CTA planned in the 1960s, and route it to Midway Airport. Im just guessing that's what it will be in 2040 or 2050.
Yeah. Here's how the extension should go: After Kimball, there will be a curve to the West, then to the South, no stations there. It then goes towards Lawrence and heads West, with stations on Pulaski and Cicero, then it turns right and heads to Jefferson Park Transit Center. That is the End of the extension. At the end, you can transfer to either the Blue Line or the METRA.
I don’t really see a need for it tbh. There’s already plenty of stations on the Brown Line where you can transfer to the Blue or Orange Lines, some don’t even have fees.
Jacob Siegal That was during a reroute a few years ago- I think it was because they were doing track work on the Wells Street and Van Buren Street sides of the Loop
Wow, the brown line has changed a bit since it was filmed for Railfan on the PS3. I'd love to visit Chicago to ride it for real. I've created similar videos for the trains I used to drive in Adelaide, Australia if anyone is interested.
Yeah around the same time the CTA was redoing the whole Brown Line from the end up to Chicago Ave so they can support up to 8 or 10 car trains. It's all over now and the stations look really nice even though some of the stations had to be moved for a new one that were accessible to wheelchairs.
Nice video. But maybe you did not read the posts regarding the music soundtrack form the Red Line Video posts, Most people thought it suck. If the CTA read my post about the Red Line, and they read all the posts (according the the Sun-Times), the music really sucks on this video and it sounds like the same artist/sound track from the Red Line vid..
You understand that your opinion is only that, right? They're not going to remove the soundtrack just because YOU don't like it. (I also like it. It's not album material, but it doesn't irritate me.)

Thanks for doing this CTA
PUCO
The Brown Line should extend to Jefferson Park for the blue line to go to O'hare Airport.
They don’t have the space to do that
imagine the school next to Diversy taking a test and all the sudden this loud train comes by to distract.
My high school was also adjacent to a set of elevated train tracks, with a station on the next block. You get used to it.
@@davidthaler7018 hmm. cool

The Brown line should extend to Jefferson Park to get to O'hare but they don't have the money to do it.

more like thats what it will be like at approximately half past never
Brown line should extend to Jefferson park for more airport connections
