I’ve been experimenting with a 4-corps Imperial list. The key is two Shores, two mortars, one of which you upgrade with Gideon, an Imperial Comms officer, and HQ uplink. Ideally recon intel to get everyone into position early & Linked Targeting Array on the Mortars. Between command cards and the uplink you can get an order on each of them every turn; if you’re smart with the rest of your list you get perfect or near perfect order control every turn, aims on shores and mortars every turn, and on a list packed with durable heavy hitters, and reasonable activation counts. No official competitive play yet, but the setup has been very successful playing with friends so far
I personally run this exact setup, but with Krennic and a unit of death troopers with comms relay. Relay the entourage order to Gideon, and the rest is just like you mentioned. Saves you points and actions on the uplink
I absolutely love the format of these videos. I tend to overthink when it comes to strategies, so having this as kind of a cheat sheet is really valuable. Keep up the good work.
Good writeup. I always like to put an Imperial Comms officer with HQ Uplink on my Shores (and my Veterans too BTW) so I can get the free order every turn, the Aim and Coordinate to the Emplacement Trooper. Then on their turn I always refresh the HQ Uplink (so it's the same as Aiming anyway) so I can do it again next turn Frees up the Mortar for Fire Support every round
I dont know. Love Shores but so far they nearly always disappointed. The missing surges are the biggest factor. Also I find the mortars to be really underwhelming, even for its low cost. It's way harder to keep them in optimal range AND have a shot leftover (cumbersome) Any tipps for me? 😁
being "issued an order" happens during the command phase. When you're pulling an order token from the bag you're just activating them. They're not being issued an order. So if you want to trigger their Target 1 they gotta get the token from the command card, or other means during the command phase.
Newer player here. With keywords like Critical 1, can you convert that 1 surge die even without a surge token or surge to hit? Or do you need a way to generate surges for shoretroopers since they don't normally surge to hit
Critical X with convert X surge results on dice to crits period as long as the weapon with that keyword was used in the attack. no surge tokens or things on the unit's surge chart required.
I'll make shore to try them out !

Does target 1 work when I assign an order to them from the bag or is it only triggered during the command card phase ?
