I love that GP doesn't care about being sponsored or making money he just wants the absolute best for the animals. Even if that means telling people about the best products out there with no reward, his reward is the animals getting the best care and for them to be happy!

I love all the new tech on farms, especially dairy farms (they seem to need a lot more!) I've seen some farms on tv which have robot milking systems which can identify if a cow is under the weather, let alone sick! Their milk is not added to the whole tank, even if there's nothing wrong with it, and they disinfect themselves.
There was one on a vet programme the other day (when I watched it, heaven only knows when it was broadcasted 🤷🏻‍♀️), and it informed the farmer that a cow had lost 100 kg in a relatively short space of time. That's obviously bad, so the vet was called immediately - and I mean "immediately". IIRC this cow had a top class pedigree and had been bought young for about £1,000. Some cost a lot more. Poor thing had the bloat illness which fills the rumen with gas, literally lifting that stomach up to her spine. Had they delayed in calling out the vet, she wouldn't have lasted long, yet to look at - in a typical "scanning" way, she wasn't looking particularly ill. It was only up close could you see that something wasn't right. She was fixed, btw!
So yes please! I'd love to see more of this farm. Do they play music in the milking parlour? (Do they still call it that? I milked a cow by hand when I was about 10, in an old milking parlour which the small herd insisted on entering twice daily, mooing loudly at the gate until someone came to open it! 🤣 It's harder than you'd think to do it.) Apparently it can raise the yield, but you have to find out what music they prefer. Mozart seems to be popular in a few farms I've seen, but others have more modern music. The results speak for themselves - the yield increases statistically significantly! Clearly cows have good taste in music 😉

I am from Alabama in the USA and I’m very interested to see this facility milking setup. My grandfather was a milker at a local dairy farm and he took me and my sister in to see how everything worked and it was so amazing to me. The owner of the dairy farm facility was a good man and he gave my grandfather a gallon of fresh milk everyday and he was so proud to be drinking the milk he had worked on that day.

I find it intriguing how farming has changed over the years. From how the livestock is taken care of to how crops are harvest, milking is done...just all of it. Growing up, there were 4 large farms in the area. Summer months I would help out by what we called haying it. Cut, rake, bailing and stacking it in the barns. I was able to watch a few cattle have hoofs trimmed and watch a vet come in to take care of the more serious problems.

This is so interesting to me. I’ve never been around cows. My brother raised cows but I really never paid them attention. I love watching you help the cows.
