He is by far the greatest to ever grip it and rip it in a super late model......man can build and setup a car and has stayed more consistent than anyone else
To me personally that was probably the best interview ever , Are used to not be a fan of his but it just goes to show when you sit down with someone on a personal level it will change your mind
In the 90s I watched him race at Lakeview Motor Speedway and win the hava Tampa 100 and he was toting the left front wheel all the way around that track and it was the fastest I've ever seen anybody at Lakeview to this day
What a drive. Scott kept his car straight through that whole race. Didn't pitch it sideways.... Another Great driver who always drove his car as straight as possible was Gary Balough. Can't count how many races those two won by doing that. Both are Legends. Scott is going to be missed for a long, Long time. GOD BLESS Scott.
This was my first time ever at Eldora, I still remember these 100 laps like it was yesterday, i was probably as pissed as Black Sunshine when they sent him to the rear but I new he was fast and had a perfect handling car, and who is better than Scott at driving from the rear and saving tires🤘🤘!!!! So happy I got to witness this in person it was fucking amazing
@@kylehellams8558 I keep wondering when he is gonna retire, I figured within the next 5 years if not sooner!! And yes he has been looking fast, him and bloomer ran side by side with him ending up ahead at the checkered a few times last year. Glad to see #44 back in a Bloomquist chassy
@@kylehellams8558 its looking that way... I'll be sad to see Bloomquist give it up but at least he has decided to place another good driver in his chassis and still gives me somebody to route for on the Bloomquist team
I kept hearing that he had strips of Lexan woven through the netting. Not sure why other than maybe the slightest advantage of aero. Or like you said......a distraction
I've been watching bloomer for 30 years,he's always been great,I would have loved to seen him in NASCAR,I bet a few championship years would have been different.
say what you want about him being this and that, the man is the smartest person when it comes to dirt late models. now we get to see him take a shot again at the biggest mod race this year.
Smart thinking with the window net for drag & a bit of side force coming out of the corners & to give everyone something to talk about & take the heat off of what is illegal in the car lol
Keith Clark What I’m trying to say is, no matter the equipment you have, it still takes unbelievable talent to be a good driver. Especially at all the tracks, because as you know they’re all different and bring out different driver’s strong suits and weaknesses.
Ive been on the side of putting cars together, what great respect i have for scott. You never know when your going to get paid by winning a race. The skill set you halft to have to make these cars dig into the track and go. Also the variables that go into decision making, its so much going on in your head and to keep this all in working order is monumentle. Im so happy for him to see years of trial and error come together. Hard work is very rewording. There is always a winner in the race, just wish people would know how much it takes to get there and its all for our entertainment.
That right there shows you why I still like the fast car starting at the tail of the field. I always took more pride starting at the rear working my way all the way up to the front compared to starting up front and being a fast qualifier and know that you should be running up front no matter what when you already started up there
Alot of fast racecars have been destroyed because they had to start in the back, I always hated winning a heat race only to start in the rear because the promoters wanted a better show.
If you look closely when they pull it off his car it was a window net attached with bolts or rivets to a piece of plexiglass, but he still dominated without it
I remember going to my first Lucas Oil Super Late Model race at I-55 and remember there was an equal amount of of love and hate for Bloomquist back then (early to mid 2000s can't remember the exact year). He won the feature that night and there was people booing the guy. I guess at the time the Show Me state had a thing against winners.
This is easily one of the top 3 top drives of all time. I’d say THE BEST until Bobby Pierce came from the back twice this year at Fairbury topped him. Still the best late model driver to do it so far… RIP Scott
Scott was his own he did his own thing an is the best in a race car an we will miss him just like we miss dale rest in peace my friend you were loved an will be missed Scott
Yes that particular window net would be considered illegal as it does enhance performance with the plastic. But that car was just hooked up the whole night and he could just put it anywhere and make speed. Love him or hate him, he just flat out out drove the field.
SCOTT WE LOVE TO SEE YOU RACE, I WANT TO KNOW IF YOU ARE RELATED TO ANY OF THE BLOOMQUIST'S IN TOMAHAWK , WIS. ?? THAT IS MY BACKGROUND, GOOD JOB BARBARA POPPENGA

I was at this race it was a truly impressive display of dominance from one of the best wheelman to have ever drove a super late model
I ran 2nd to him on IRacing last year. He beat by .006 to the line lol. Chatted for a while with him.. Helluva nice guy!!!
He raced on PC? DAMNNNN makes him more of a legend
I love that smirk when he talks about the window ........net !
The man is a beast when he gets behind the wheel. I don't think I've ever seen him smile that much.
He cuts those corners so tight, nobody else is even down there. He definitely has that car set up right to make that track short
Who's Here because of Dale Jr's podcast?
EDIT: 8-16-2024 RIP Scott. Your gone from this Life too early!
This guy!
Good runs deserve accolades there it was, is,always

In the 90s I watched him race at Lakeview Motor Speedway and win the hava Tampa 100 and he was toting the left front wheel all the way around that track and it was the fastest I've ever seen anybody at Lakeview to this day
Probably racing against Mark Miner back then!
And he never got paid for winning that race
Had the pleasure of meeting him at the 2024 calabash with my little sister rest in peace to a legend
Even tho he's done all that. You still gotta say he's one that will make you have butterflies when he shows up.

Who knew this Friday night you would be racing in heaven
It was awesome hearing him mention Atomic, I watched him and Purvis, and Ronnie Johnson run there many times when I was a kid.... I miss the ol track😞

The window net was the distraction for those F1 shocks he had on. Great times

That’s the definition of “Hunting that Front” thank you Scott! You will be greatly missed man! Your dreams will never die! Love you buddy!
Use to watch him in the Hapatampa series when it would come to Lake View SC
Ive yet to see such a dominate race car in my life. He is the best hands down
Chaz Buchinsky that Rocket #1 is surely in contention for that. 24 wins in 55 races this year. 50 top 5’s and 2 crown jewel wins

I'm here cause I love Bloomer!.
RIP Scott. You're the man.
You are the man, the legend. Awesome job.
Seen him on the dale show, the bro is a badass!
the best of all time
Well he's a couple hundred features behind the GOAT.
If my father sent me to racing school, i could do the same. And paid for for $100,000 frames and the same amount for engines.
Cody Livesay so you’re saying, if you had someone footing the bill, you would be the best of all time? Highly doubt it.

there will never be a driver as good. these new cars drive themselves.

One of the greats.
1n 1990s Dickie Anderson (Wayne's) Dad was dominant like this on asphalt short tracks in Florida
Legend!
The part they pulled was an aero-window net.....not that it played a part in the performance.
If anything it made him angry and that upped his performance.
It was an aero advantage if you noticed the clear plastic on the inside of the net, effectively making it solid so air cant pass thru
best race car driver in the history of racing
nope that would be steve kinser
have to agree. even being a bloomquist fan. steve also won an IROC race @ talladega. thats just bad ass.

When you're the top dog you can afford it.
Should start a daily water program it keep a better base of moisture i like when you can hook it to the low line and keep traction
