Do you use any phone apps while reading?

I use Bookly for tracking, rating, quotes, thoughts, stats etc. It has an Apple Watch app, but sadly it crashed without saving the sessions numerous times, thus I use the iPhone app.

the reason why i’m such a slow reader is 100% down to me being on my phone when i should be reading 😭 so thank you so much for this video. hoping to cut down on my pointless scrolling and get some reading done !

@@beee_e The pomodoro app is by far the one that has the most impact on me. I wish I'd started using it sooner honestly. I hope some of them work for you!!

I often run Spotify with a "music to read by" playlist running.

@@Kas_and_Nacho ooooo nice! I have a few Spotify playlists going too and I recently discovered some created by authors specifically for their books

the two apps i use to actually start reading are storygraph & finch. storygraph because it tracks pages and i have the goal of reading one page a day at least and finch because i have reading set as a daily goal and it reminds me "oh, i haven't read yet" a bit more immediately than storygraph because i'm already on the app tracking other habits. sometimes i will listen to music as well.

@@GinaLuciaReads it's an app where you can create a task list and grow a little bird with it. it's the only thing that actually reminds me of doing things😂

I use forest in chronometer mode, it doubles as a timer and the app blocker, tho it only lets you costumize the allowed apps with the premium version (but it's a single low fee).
I also usually put music on. For example, the Heartstopper show's soundtrack.

@@eli_drottningu ooooo I love that! I also play music! Often lofi or a playlist the author has made for the book. They know what they're doing that's for sure
