My best friend is the total opposite of me personality wise but we get along extremely well and he’s able to consistently bring me out of my shell and step out of my comfort zone. The best part is I’ve never felt pressured to do anything I didn’t want to. Like I’m very reclusive but if he invites me to go anywhere I’m there in a heartbeat.

      @mznxbcv12345 Год назад

      There is no such thing as introvert or extrovert, they're abstractions that psychologist use to simplify and generalise behavioral tendencies. What there is however is the energy expended in interactions, which can be measured objectively from body movement to the amount of muscles involved (speech for example requires the organised synchronisation of a lot of muscles such as the tongue, lips, jaw, vocal cords, diaphragm, etc.) It is carl jung and his pseudoscientific approach to the field who popularized the terms introvert, extrovert and is to blame for the muddying of reality with thoughts a guy came up without any objective basis.)

    • @mznxbcv12345
      @mznxbcv12345 Год назад

      I don't know much about psychology, but I know enough to tell that it's a lot of nonsense. They have these fancy words, like introvert and extrovert, that they use to label people and make them think they know something about them. But they don't really know anything. They just make up these categories based on some vague observations and intuitions, and then they pretend they have some scientific basis for them. But they don't. They don't have any reliable way to measure or test these categories, and they don't have any clear evidence that they are stable or meaningful. Psychology is not a real science, like physics. It's more like a cult. It's based on faith, not facts. It's based on authority, not logic. It's based on dogma, not curiosity. It's based on conformity, not creativity. It's based on manipulation, not understanding.
      To conclude, psychology is a bunch of baloney. It doesn't help us understand ourselves or others, it only confuses us and harms us.

    • @lozoft9
      @lozoft9 Год назад +7

      @@ffelegal “phonetics is the easiest part” as an English speaker I disagree. The prosody of the language, especially the whispered vowels and gemination, makes understanding everyday spoken Japanese that much more difficult. People who know similar languages where vowel and consonant length is variable and lexical will have an advantage in that regard. It also doesn’t hurt that Italian verbs are highly inflected like Japanese ones vs English and Chinese which are on the complete opposite end of the spectrum.
