    I have to say, a few years ago I would have never considered a Chinese brand, but now with the ridiculous prices western bike brands are charging I’m seriously considering it! They’ve come a long way.

      Supporting Chinese made products needs to be wisely considered. Low price may be sweet at first but eventually you end up in a situation like with other products. Western companies go out of business, or before that happens, you have political actions to mitigate (toll/taxes).

      you're late to the party, plenty of guys I know are buying chinese brands, that includes frames, wheels, accessories. Groupsets are the only thing that are stil "Western", but even here Chinese electronic groupsets will soon take over in a few years. I'm giving the middle finger to overpriced Western brands, are you listening Zip and Enve?

    I wish more road bikes would come with UDH hangers. Having the option to run the soon to be released Sram Red XPLR 1x13 sounds very tempting for a nice, simple and aero road setup.

      @@tinoschneider6350 A new frame design takes at least 2 years of development lead time before final release.
      So UDH hangers would start to appear as standard on bike frames at least 2-3 years after UDH was first public release. Since not all frame manufacturers are clued in with SRAM.

      I mean, most western brands don't have a dedicated R&D team, and they're instead off-loaded to Chinese OEM factories and the brand only buys the license (sometimes exclusive) to specific models and decide how strict the QC is going to be. So a lot of the things are never really western to begin with. It's not that the western brands are falling behind, it's just now that more and more Chinese OEMs are starting their own brands and thus have more exposure

    there’s a brand called BIGROCK making 600g xs frames, size 58 is like 730 or 750 grams, under 1kg with fork in their largest size offered, it’s lighter than any of the bikes shown here
    i wish people could cover them more, the only review i’ve seen so far is from china cycling

    The 3d printed titanium frames look exciting. Presumably if they can control the wall thickness and butting through the cross section similar to what is achieved with a fibre layup - then we can have a tuned ride quality combined with the impact resistance and longevity of Ti. If the repeatability and precision is there in the process then that could be fairly revolutionary... once the price drops alongside the scalability. Looks pimp too.

    You can 3D print a carbon fiber bike yourself by growing (printing) bamboo and then epoxy resin wrapping the joints. Lots of them out there.

    Oh, Windspace made a copy of the Tarmac Sl7. They even used the the two first letters from the sl7, sl, in the name. No surprise that Chinese brands are plagiarizing western brands. We shouldn't uncritically praise them for that, but we see all too often that RUclipsrs are completely panegyric in their mention of them. Probably because the Chinese brands sends them stuff - something they want to maintain

    the era of the collusion prices that certain high brands have been doing is coming to an end. The good pigeons we are who have to pay 15k for a bike is over. All the frames are done in Asia rest is bs marketing. As reminder a V2 ducati cost the same than few high end bikes Focus won 2 sprints at the TDF ….really it must be a 15k bike ….no…. Van Rysel is the 3rd team ytd in terms of pro tour victories…really it must be a sworks or Lab71 ….no not a 15k bike really….

      If you want to politicize everything then just dont buy anything from asia because every thing here profits the CCP even if it is manufactured by Taiwan or even south east asia because the machineries all came from CCP and the food that sustains the workers all came from CCP.

    • @cazat
      @cazat 5 дней назад

      Depends on how you define 'CCP owned', state owned corporations are mostly in core industries such as banking, energy, infrastructure etc. commodity such as bikes are insignificant and are mostly private enterprises nowadays, so technically they are not 'CCP owned' per se. However, all companies in China albeit by laws made by CCP so the government can do whatever they want with them, if that's what you mean by 'CCP owned'.

    • @bingbing3464
      @bingbing3464 5 дней назад +2

      @@cazat almost everything made in asia goes through CCP, be it raw materials, machineries, and even food imports that the workers feed on. So if like this poster want to be a political idiot, just stop buying anything that is made in asia.
