I balled. . . it was crazy. i felt all of my childhood all of my innocence come rushing in. It was so overwhelming. I left that movie theatre feeling all warm and fuzzy and I'm not the type at all ...takes a lot to make this chick cry. 🤣🤷🏽

I saw ET in the movie theatre with Dad . at the end , everyone had shed a few tears . even my Father . that's one of the Best memories I had from the 80's , I saw my Dad as a human being and not some angry Marine Robot with 22 yrs of service.

In the 80s and 90s, we are looking forward weeks before for a movie on the TV. It was a big celebration, to see Star Wars again (after years) with the whole Familie on a shitty TV - it was so cool. Today everything is on demand, its not the old feeling.

Hi I am now approaching 70 so seen many decades ,the 60,s started it all and as a Brit as a kid embraced it ,the 70,s better still but honestly the 80,s were something else , a portal to our future with innocence ,an enjoyment of new music and technology ! Lived in the US then and totally loved it ,going to the mall and sitting in the arcade , no phones ,no apps and constant social media ! We had the best of all worlds ,the music was great , fashion simple and not expensive to most of us and I felt totally free and life was amazing ! Alas the future is even worse than we thought back then , we thought it would be fun but hell as a kid now alas it is like going back to 1935 , EVIL is on the rise again ,that,s not in the spirit of the 80,s ,maybe that sensation will arise again !

I don't care how old I am now or how old in the future I reach. Part of me will always be a kid stuck in the 80s. No place I would rather be and would do anything to go back to that place again. This song/video is amazing but I felt both ecstatic/depressed at the same time. Youth really is wasted on the young. Any kids/teenagers reading this savour every second of your youth whilst you can. I reckon the 80's were special because the analog and digital worlds entwined. We were playing on the streets and then back home to the computer playing videogames. Nowadays we only rely on the latter

That time is so loved not because of what we had back then, but because we didn’t have what we have now. Widespread internet access, multinational corporations with as much power, mobile phones, social media, persistent terrorism threat, corrupt politics, and media coverage of every little disaster around the world. The world was so much simpler, so much more pure and carefree. I didn’t even exist back then and I can still sense that inevitable nostalgic pang people approaching middle age feel whenever a video like this makes an appearance. It’s incredible.

The 80s was all about selling Unbounded Optimism and Hope (albeit through Consumerism) that is why the ads and toys and the Joseph Campbell ChildHero archetypes narrative in these movies resonate so deeply with the 80s kids... and, why the 80s kids are all so clinically depressed and nostalgic now. But take heed, and take heart. that optimism and sense of wideeyed adventure is still out there. You need to find the joy and wonder and excitement again, and bring it back into this world that sorely needs it now. you aren't done exploring and the adventure isn't over; this is just the part where you are stuck in the Swamps of Sadness... the movie isn't quite done yet... unless you want it to be. I came into the 80's as a 17 year old...to wrap up your high school years early in the decade only to then flow into some absurdly crazy and fun college days while the decade was in full swing was most fortunate. The Midnight captures the vibe of the time so well that anytime it is combined with 80's based content it just works!!

Alas the future is even worse than we thought back then , we thought it would be fun but hell as a kid now alas it is like going back to 1935 , EVIL is on the rise again ,that,s not in the spirit of the 80,s ,maybe that sensation will arise again !

I don't care how old I am now or how old in the future I reach. Part of me will always be a kid stuck in the 80s. No place I would rather be and would do anything to go back to that place again. This song/video is amazing but I felt both ecstatic/depressed at the same time. Youth really is wasted on the young. Any kids/teenagers reading this savour every second of your youth whilst you can. Don't keep looking to the future but enjoy the now. Because when your youth is over it is never coming back.

I reckon the 80's were special because the analog and digital worlds entwined. We were playing on the streets and then back home to the computer playing videogames. Nowadays we only rely on the latter

I was 6 years old when 1979 turned to 1980. Watching this brought me right back to the 80's. So many memories, so many feelings. This brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for making me feel like a kid again.

Im from Spain,and i think its so awesome how all memories from 80s & 90s childs around the world are exactly the same thing with Little differences,but…..who doesn´t know Back to the Future,Thundercats,Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Transformers ?? Actual Kids have a lots of very good games and technology,but i dont change my childhood for no one of them.
and one the best parts, no internet! as kids we actually played outside getting skinned knees and grass stains in our clothes, I wouldn't trade it either

That time is so loved not because of what we had back then, but because we didn’t have what we have now. Widespread internet access, multinational corporations with as much power, mobile phones, social media, persistent terrorism threat, corrupt politics, and media coverage of every little disaster around the world. The world was so much simpler, so much more pure and carefree. I didn’t even exist back then and I can still sense that inevitable nostalgic pang people approaching middle age feel whenever a video like this makes an appearance. It’s incredible.
This video and song are truly amazing. Watching the video and listening to the song makes me long for the 80's again, it makes me feel sad and want to cry for a better time, it makes me feel hopeful for all of 5 minutes and 14 seconds, it makes me feel weak, sick, embolden, and it makes my heart beat faster with excitement in my chest. I am 45 years old, and am absolutely gushing over this video and song - nostalgia never felt this beautiful, warm, exciting and exhilarating. Bravo, Midnight! nostalgia is a hell of a drug.
The 80s was all about selling Unbounded Optimism and Hope (albeit through Consumerism) that is why the ads and toys and the Joseph Campbell ChildHero archetypes narrative in these movies resonate so deeply with the 80s kids...
and, why the 80s kids are all so clinically depressed and nostalgic now.
But take heed, and take heart.
that optimism and sense of wideeyed adventure is still out there.
You need to find the joy and wonder and excitement again, and bring it back into this world that sorely needs it now.
you aren't done exploring and the adventure isn't over; this is just the part where you are stuck in the Swamps of Sadness... the movie isn't quite done yet... unless you want it to be.

The attachment to the 80's is one of the coolest things you get out of surfing music through RUclips. I came into the 80's as a 17 year old...to wrap up your high school years early in the decade only to then flow into some absurdly crazy and fun college days while the decade was in full swing was most fortunate. The Midnight captures the vibe of the time so well that anytime it is combined with 80's based content it just works!!

OMG born in 84, so i'm an 80's kid... this Video brings so much memory back... for every nowadays kid, i wish they could explore the 80's/90's at least for a bit. No Fortnite, no mobile phones, no Teletubbies etc. All of us who lived in the 80's and 90's now what music is, what movies are, how mud feels in your face ... Sabre Rider, Mask, Sancho & Pancho, Dr. Snuggles and so many more good cartoons to get up early in the morning and watch tv, before heading out getting dirty. Good old days
