This film and song reminds me how lucky I am still married to the woman of my dreams and even after 26 years and two beautiful daughters later she still is.

I completely agree that it took me too long to discover this band. All of you who commented on this give A R I Z O N A (With spaces) a listen too. Similar vibe
Wish I had the chance to spend this one life with her but she is gone, long gone, and I just have to live with it. I can't love someone else like the way I loved her, and her voice is a mystery that I will never know. But I have this one hope that I will meet her in heaven and we will have this one dance that we can't have in this life. The last part of this song with the video just kills me.
I live in LA and this song is such a vibe when you’re riding down the PCH from Malibu, roof open, approaching Santa Monica, the pier and the lights shining with the Pacific waves off to your side.
Whoever had this idea of combining los angeles and lala land, I just wanna let you know that it's a masterpiece. Perfect blend of the song, movie and the feels. Impeccable beauty & poetry in motion. I'm proud of you. Thank you.
My girlfriend introduced me this band and the first song I've ever listened was Los Angeles. She had an anxiety attack and suicidal thought after her ex beat her hard and left her back before I met her. I took care of her and her feelings and in return she provide emotional support through my hard time. This song she sent change me so much. She said it would heal me from anxiety and stress and all that bad thoughts. So it did, as I went through shit all past years (pandemic, lost of job, depression etc.) I just felt like The Midnight is the only band that lift spirit and my life and make me feel nostalgia to the "place" I never ever visit.
I wish there was a word in our language for this feeling. It lifts my spirit, and my life, and makes me feel nostalgic for a place I’ve never been, too.

I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that they visited India and I saw them live a month ago. One of the most amazing nights of my life, I cried a lot during the concert that night. This band's music has seen me through a lot of bad and good times. Love you Tyler, Tim, Justin, Leila, and Royce.

I'm looking forward to going back to California so I can drive around at night and play The Midnight like I used to. There's nothing better than driving with that Pacific wind blowing in your windows in perfect 60-degree temperatures and a full moon lighting up the water. I recommend the stretch between Venice Beach and Point Mugu or between Torrey Pines and Oceanside.
I currently live in Oceanside. Those are both great stretches, even north to San Juan Capistrano. The 101 stretch between Ventura and Capitan (including Santa Barbara) isn't bad either.

When my mom was always there for me to hold me when I was sad and scared. When there was no internet, just outside exploration and learning about the world through a child’s eyes. Everything was so magical then. So freeing and beautiful. I hope one day to find another era that makes me just as happy and nostalgic when it’s even further in the future, that way I can die and know I lived a beautiful happy life.
"I hope one day to find another era that makes me just as happy and nostalgic" I wish me the same sometimes. Love the flow and the vibe the midnight bring towards us.
Fox Moth I know! They’re amazing! It’s rare for me to find music or artists that can transport me to another place or to memories. It’s amazing what good music can do for you and the soul.
It's music like this that gives the soul a nudge to just keep moving forward. The hope I feel, the faith that envelops my entirety just makes me blossom with joy.
The songs from Midnight always gives me the feeling that i need something what is unknown for myself but what is always close to me, what i wont be missing a second, cause it was never away, like our soul we cant see but we feel it, unknown magic around the world without noticing it Thank you for giving me such a feeling The Midnight
Props to musicians who take a chance on an old music style, update it and make it something their own. Instead of sampling hit songs, they are creating something all their own and it scratches a part of our hearts making us feel younger.
I lost each and every hope in my life to succeed in my career of choice. I spent a fortune and lost it all on a pipe dream. I started hearing voices in my head and taking medication for it. Nothing comforts me like this song. The sheer feeling of awe/nostalgia. This is my only safe haven. Long live the 80s.
it's so freaking stupid. They could've been together because they clearly loved each other. What kind of idiots makes such stupid choices? Oh right, hacky screenwriters. Sorry but I want my entertainment to have happy endings and make me feel happy, not leave me sad and depressed. There's too much of that in the real world to get it from escapism as well
I'm getting strong feelings, goosebumps and nostalgia from this song telling me that I already exist before, telling me that there's a part of me that already existed before. I really love this kind of music. Remarkable masterpieces.
"I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations" Jeremiah 1:5. This is a verse with the Lord speaking to the prophet Jeremiah. It applies to you as well! Christ be with you, beautiful soul.
I usually get burnt out by listening to a song for a week straight. But this, this right here is something, I've been listening for 2 months now and it's still good as the first time I heard it. This is Gold right here.
Song and words like this make me re-believe in love and togetherness. Inspite of having my heart smashed against the wall. Hope all the people who are alone in this world find love. In some form of the other. Thank you God for everything You have given. Love. Love. Take away the guns and bombs.
When this movie came out I couldn't see it in the cinema, but then, being a fan of The Midnigth, I found this video, which accompanied by this song with beautiful melody and lyrics, made me imagine that the film would have a development and ending as beautiful as the signaling that this song produces when listening to it. I watched this video over and over and imagined a beautiful movie. Then I had the opportunity to see it, and yes, I loved it, but I was disappointed and sad because it is not as I imagined, it did not feel like when I heard the song. I still prefer and like the version that I imagine more and I still feel when I watch this video. it's something like love, nostalgically mixed, beautiful
The song's feeling of melancholy does suit the ending of the film though, when both Mia and Sebastian end up with everything they wanted... except each other. A lot of people got salty about that, but it's true to life. Sometimes things just don't work out the way you hoped they would.
So you deserve an award for this. The edit of the movie along with the music is in my opinion, perfect. Every once and awhile I come back and watch it again and it just makes me feel good. It inspires me to improve; to again accomplish dreams that I forgot were indeed valid. You're a Legend Naani - thank you :)
Whoever cut this video was brilliant. Reminded me a lot of Drive. I just watched La La Land the other day and for all intents and purposes this music shouldn't fit the movie but it does with this video.
I saw this video when i was unemployed without a job. I finally have a job with 6 months experience. Life always doesn't stay same if you hustle. Party to let of sorrow and get back to work
@@kidronreddy1671 I wish you the best. Try to remember that luck and good fortune doesn't happen on its own. Put in the effort and it'll build upon itself. I have never heard such gorgeous songs in my life. I just fell in love with this song😍. Thanks to the band for such a masterpiece that I can enjoy. This song deserves a billion views.❤️☺️
I was thirsty. Like I was thirsty of music. Never got enough of any music. I wanted it to be a never ending one! Which will play in a lazy afternoon and I will forget everything is happening around me. I will close my eyes and I will say this is it. Thank you for bringing that music to me. From my heart ♥️
I don't know where this song ranked in its time, but if it wasn't number one, it should've been. Love that continuous, wonderful beat. And he has a great voice.
I'm usually really modest about what I listen to in the car, but when I am driving down Sunset Blvd on a Saturday night, this is usually one of the sounds I roll down my window and sing along to. I got to meet Tyler in 2018 backstage at a show in Brooklyn, and told him how much this song made me feel home.
I found the Midnight after a real rough patch in my relationship and their music helped mend us both. Sad/happy dancing to this song in the kitchen is an 11/10. Never give up, never let go of the things that matter.
@@Leon-vvah-vvah indeed it is a catalyst for depression. It is addictive to a point of damaging us. Still we keep longing for it. It's like we want to feel the pain

I don’t know how the midnight does it. They say the most profound beautiful lyric I’ve ever heard. ‘My heart feels the weight of all I don’t know’....and it just goes by like nothing in the song. Do you not understand that you just said everything I’ve ever felt every day my whole life in a few words. The midnight is amazing

Even though they aren't an 80's band, I agree they did a great job capturing that 80's sound with the synth and sequencing beat.

Drunk on Sunset Boulevard

But I, I will miss you when I'm gone
Flickers of the canyon fire
Its hands raised like a gospel choir
If we live forever, let us live forever tonight
Helicopters against moonlight
Our holy mother of the midnight
And if we live forever, let us live forever tonight
Tomorrow we'll go
Back to our lives
With sand in our skin and sun in our eyes
But I know the truth
I've seen the signs
And I've seen the golden gods in disguise
Memories and mountain tops

But yeah we're lucky to have the midnight.
"I hope one day to find another era that makes me just as happy and nostalgic" I wish me the same sometimes. Love the flow and the vibe the midnight bring towards us.
EXOL_ 1485 idk why I’m just now seeing your comment lol but you’re welcome! It’s good to take a trip there every once in a while :)
The songs from Midnight always gives me the feeling that i need something what is unknown for myself but what is always close to me, what i wont be missing a second, cause it was never away, like our soul we cant see but we feel it, unknown magic around the world without noticing it
Thank you for giving me such a feeling The Midnight
I hope this kind of music never disappear.
Props to musicians who take a chance on an old music style, update it and make it something their own. Instead of sampling hit songs, they are creating something all their own and it scratches a part of our hearts making us feel younger.
This is one of the most amazing songs I have ever listened to in my life. It's so wistful, deep and nostalgic. Feels so powerful. Wow.
I want this to be OUR song. whoever you are.
Ya, nice. I'm starting to miss my imaginary girlfriend 😍
You deserve peace in your life.
When it’s all over, we’re back to being strangers
Once again we're strangers, but this time with memories
God that hurt😭
Oof
Wow
i feel like i am going thru this right now!! its heart breaking!! my life feels like its over!!
This song is so joyous, yet melancholic. It’s really extraordinary.
Don't let anybody remove this video. It's a work of art. (2)
I come back to this video about every 6 months and cry
Stay single
Don't watch the video... just listen!
Come back again
me too, this song makes me cry every time.
It's such a beautiful song - poetry set to music 🥲
is this video from any movie ?
This song is worth the price of admission for "Days of Thunder" alone.
The "could have been" footage where they make a home together and have a kid absolutely kills me
fucking cried watching this in a theatre
@@rufukyduky same here
it's so freaking stupid. They could've been together because they clearly loved each other. What kind of idiots makes such stupid choices? Oh right, hacky screenwriters. Sorry but I want my entertainment to have happy endings and make me feel happy, not leave me sad and depressed. There's too much of that in the real world to get it from escapism as well
I typed “Los Angeles” and this was the first video that popped up! I’m glad I decided to watch it! This is a really cool song! 😎
I'm getting strong feelings, goosebumps and nostalgia from this song telling me that I already exist before, telling me that there's a part of me that already existed before. I really love this kind of music. Remarkable masterpieces.
Same here bro, sending you lots of love ❤
Always felt that way since I was a kid....I had weird dreams that felt real during those times
Same here brother
"I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations"
Jeremiah 1:5.
This is a verse with the Lord speaking to the prophet Jeremiah. It applies to you as well!
Christ be with you, beautiful soul.
i get this..
I usually get burnt out by listening to a song for a week straight. But this, this right here is something, I've been listening for 2 months now and it's still good as the first time I heard it. This is Gold right here.
2 years and still listening to it all the time
I'M FROM BRAZIL, I FOUND THIS WONDERFUL BY CHANCE. I WILL ALWAYS LIKE HERE.
Calm down
O mesmo aqui 🇧🇷
So glad I came across this band but most importantly, this absolute masterpiece.
Song and words like this make me re-believe in love and togetherness. Inspite of having my heart smashed against the wall. Hope all the people who are alone in this world find love. In some form of the other. Thank you God for everything You have given. Love. Love. Take away the guns and bombs.
nicklaus24 always believe in love, it's the only thing worth really living for.
That was beautiful man! Your words are wise and true
I wish I could find this for the first time again
Agree!
I'm listening to this song in the same warehouse that I first heard it in. Genuinely, thank you for reminding me of that day.
amen to that
Well its my first time and it's great! I can't describe the feeling!
the song or the movie or both?
the puzzling grace of it all, what makes me small doesn't make me stronger, belonger of the beginnings to it all.
When this movie came out I couldn't see it in the cinema, but then, being a fan of The Midnigth, I found this video, which accompanied by this song with beautiful melody and lyrics, made me imagine
that the film would have a development and ending as beautiful as the signaling that this song produces when listening to it.
I felt the exact same!
Hope and expectation is something that drives a man mad
You stole my word bro.... 😀
"The Midnight", should produce / write a film like "The Neverending Story" and "Ready Player One"
I put it on my playlist of best all-time UTube videos...SO beautiful! Use your Free Will to LOVE!
I’m
Addicted to this band. Such a great throwback sound
One of my best guy friends shared this with me..I am speechless. So many emotions wrapped up into one. Why am I crying? so beautiful~ ❤❤💯
He has feelings for YOU.
Nothing can beat the 80's synth ❣️😎
How could you not fall hopelessly in love with Emma Stone?
Magnified by the song and the editing.
Bravo.
She doesnt look that good but you have your preference.
I just can't get enough of 00:16 - 00:21, she's so pretty and the music fit this movie perfectly.
Thank you, you earned my subscription.
good cut!
Bro I was just about to say the same damn thing lol
For me it's probably 4:25 to 4:40. Just prefect blend of music and cinematography.
Guys for me is just perfect! I love the whole cut
You give me a reason to rewind back when I'm already in the end...
i have probably listened to this song about 1 million times now. the song and this video is perfection. thank you
Whoever cut this video was brilliant. Reminded me a lot of Drive. I just watched La La Land the other day and for all intents and purposes this music shouldn't fit the movie but it does with this video.
La La Land makes a PERFECT video for this song. The colors and everything work so beautifully together. This is a masterpiece.
The word ROMANTIC has dissapeard from the vocabulary….If someone asks me what Romantic means, I say : listen to Midnight Los Angeles it says it all.
Stan Kocinski You couldn’t of said it any better. 😢🙌🙌

Totally truth
I saw this video when i was unemployed without a job. I finally have a job with 6 months experience. Life always doesn't stay same if you hustle. Party to let of sorrow and get back to work
😢I am in the same boat looking for work, found this video by chance.
@@kidronreddy1671 I wish you the best. Try to remember that luck and good fortune doesn't happen on its own. Put in the effort and it'll build upon itself. Making good habits is the first step in achieving a goal. I recommend reading/listening to the book Atomic Habits if you need a good framework for this.
This song made me survive long rides with my car and always raised my mood. A masterpiece, cant stop humming this Song in my mind.
0:16 This is perfection. This is beautiful .
Yeah.
I have never heard such gorgeous songs in my life. I just fell in love with this song😍. Thanks to the band for such a masterpiece that I can enjoy. This song deserves a billion views.❤️☺️
Как же я обожаю эту песню. Она такая лёгкая и непринуждённая.
I taka amerykańska 😮
The channel which introduced me to The Midnight. I can’t thank you enough for the videos and you are my savior for introducing The Midnight to me
I was thirsty. Like I was thirsty of music. Never got enough of any music. I wanted it to be a never ending one! Which will play in a lazy afternoon and I will forget everything is happening around me. I will close my eyes and I will say this is it.
Thank you for bringing that music to me. From my heart ♥️
This is the song that sparked again the love for Retrowave.
The Midnight is a music legend of 21st century.
I've probably listened to this song a 150 times in the last three months. It keeps getting better.
This makes me want to see La La Land way more than the actual trailer.
I usually fucking despise musicals yet somehow love La La Land
Haha same, I watched La La Land back when it first came out and never watched it again. Seeing this made me go back and watch it a few days ago.
@@BojackatronHorsemaniac hah same, hate musicals but La La Land was really good. The end of the movie daaaaamn
This song has that vibe, an energy, the emotion to promise great things, a wonderful future, and true love ❤️.
Don't cry because it's over....smile because it happened
😎
Nothing ever happened, nothing at all
That's the problem boi
Such a good message
@@Korhh meeting her/him must be enough
Don't smile because it's over....cry loudly because it happened
Одна из лучших американских групп. Надеюсь я когда-нибудь смогу прийти к вам на концерт...
Я тоже
+1
These music videos make me want to watch these movies when I'd otherwise not :)
Ryan Gosling is such a terrific actor he can make you cry just by looking at a piano and doing nothing else :)
This songs juggles my memories back to my younger days in the 80's.
I found the Midnight after a real rough patch in my relationship and their music helped mend us both. Sad/happy dancing to this song in the kitchen is an 11/10. Never give up, never let go of the things that matter.
This was the first song I discovered from The Midnight. Now I can't stop listening to them.
I discovered it just now 🤣
This was recommended by youtube so I clicked. Same as you, its my first song n I love it 😄
Some genius combined the best movie with the best song and created a masterpiece.
melancholy is such a sweet drug
It has two edges, it can cut deeper than it can be satisfying, therefore it is dangerous, especially if you are emotionally instable.
It's not. It's a catalyst for depression
@@Leon-vvah-vvah indeed it is a catalyst for depression. It is addictive to a point of damaging us. Still we keep longing for it. It's like we want to feel the pain
It's Benign masochism.
Give me valium!!! :-)
I just got tears pouring down my cheeks when I heard this beautiful song and saw this video.. Truly a work of art.. thoughts and emotions go circles and soul feels like floating with its vibe 😩🥺🥰💜
This is probably the most mezmerizing Synthpop song I've ever heard.
Synthwave*
Whole 'nother level.

What's the name of the movie??
Nikhil Jangle La La Land
My ringtone for the past 4 years, it is the best retrowave song ever made. Long live The Midnight ❤️
This song reminds me that there was a time in my life when I was incredibly in love and happy.
You're not alone. I cannot help but fantasize about happier times -- truly a love-inducing track.
I’m with u there friend. I feel as if I’ve let life just sail by me, the regrets are piling up 🙈
Watched La La Land last night for the first time and it left a similar emptiness inside me at the end.
Ah well, we’re still above ground I suppose 🙄
Can't relate
abuseofviolence Be grateful. Many will never know what love feels like.
Lucky you some people never have felt love.
2022........mil veces volvere para ver esta obra de arte de cancion con una pelicula.......Si ves esto antes que la pelicula te aseguro que no la sentiras tanto como aqui. Me quito el sombrero frente al que lo hizo. Naani........I love this!!!
I don't know why but this music makes me feel alive. I feel pure bliss and all the good things in life are with me right now. Thank you The Midnight for making us all feel truly one , truly unique and truly happy.
