    How to Survive a Stampede:
Tip 1. Get your arms up, elbows in front of your chest. Gives your chest room to expand while people push and shove preventing asphyxiation.
Tip 2. Go with the flow. Fighting the crowd will exhaust you, save your energy.
Tip 3. Stay up. Utilize your center of gravity to do so. Once you fall down it is nearly impossible to get back up.
Tip 4. Avoid hard surfaces, unless they are scaleable. You can become crushed against barriers and walls by the crowd.
RIP to the victims in Seoul.

@@mikeshoults4155some people get pushed in regardless. So many factors, so people get swept away, physically floating you off the ground if you're small enough. Listen to RottenMangos video on the recent surge in Korea just months ago.

the tightest crowd I've been in was at a concert. and i did all this by instinct. except i still fell down, and it took seconds between me seeing black, accepting the end, people forming a barrier and someone to pull me back up.

A firefighter who also had expertise in stampede situations said that you should also look for ways to go vertically up, climb a tree or a car.

Basically still none of them. These kind of videos provide an illusion of control to ease people's anxiety. But the truth is if you're getting pushed down a steep slope in an alley with thousands of people that should have hundreds, and crushed by the weight of thousands of people behind you, and you're a 120 pound woman, you're going to die if the conditions are right regardless of how fancy your arm ergonomics are.
