The Komaba Campus, shown here is the campus for 1st year and 2nd year students! The main campus is Hongo Campus with the famous “Akamon (red gate)”, where 3rd and 4th years study! I am in a bukatsu (sports team) of the university, and because the practice was at Hongo, it was hard, going from Komaba to Hongo after classes, for team practice, the first two years...:(
Great video, but as a UTokyo student, I feel it would have been more accurate if you also included students who are not international students/or students who attend classes at Hongo campus which is actually UTokyo’s main campus! But anyway, the video was very informative and well shot! Props to Eugene and Anna too:)
Aine Adachi I’m a student from the international school of choueifat in UAE, Abu Dhabi, Khalifa city A. I’m aiming to get into your university. Thank you for spending your time reading this. P.s. is a 98/100 for high school good enough to get a scholarship? I’m currently in second year high school and would love to be able to study in uTokyo.
@@jessp5775 Dude he meant that even Hong Kong is better than U.S in terms of food quality, So it shouldn't be a surprise that Japan has such high quality in food either.
I don't about college, but I went there for a year in high school. Japan is amazing to live in, all of the students were welcoming and kind, and overall everyone respects one another. Although Japan is the top in Asia for education, as someone from the U.S. IMO our quality of education is much much better. Japanese schools are great at pushing their students and supporting ambitious ones, but that is where most of the positives end. Their school is 95% memorizations for exams and nothing else. I know college is different, but in high school there was literally 0 class discussions, projects, presentations- skills you need for the real world. All lectures, no critical thought. Sleeping was common. From what I've heard colleges aren't nearly as intense but due to respect of elders the sit and listen to lectures still applies. You can still have a relationship with your professor, but interaction with your professor or othee students is close to none during class time. This works for some subjects but most definitely not. Of course, I would recommend checking out resources specifically on Japanese colleges. Also I still had a fantastic study abroad experience so don't let it stop you from being a student there for up to a year or so. Unless you're from someplace where education isn't great, if you live in a developed western nation I don't recommend getting your degree there, their education system simply isn't fulfilling at all. But if you're keen on going there for education I suggest US schools with Japanese campuses, like Temple University. There's also international schools like Akita University.
Qiana Barrett U may partly be right but as to my high school in Japan, it was not like that.
