I've liked his comedy for years, and it wasn't until a year ago that my sister pointed out he was totally clean-I never noticed, that's how funny he is.
Yup, I too never noticed that Brian's act was clean until a few years ago when Dennis Miller mentioned it on the air (and how much he loves Brian's act). All I knew is that, time and again, Brian continued to make me laugh the hardest of any stand-up comedian I've seen, since I began watching in the late 80s.
The bar is always higher for 'clean', while it can never be lowered low enough for 'dirty'. And I would argue that doing clean comedy is a much tougher task. _(C'mon, we all know that sex jokes are easy, as is using the f-word as a punch line... for almost everything.)_ Thank you Brian Regan for making the extra effort to step over the low bar (standards) of mainstream comedy, and keep it clean. I can laugh without worrying about being sucker-punched which makes the whole experience more enjoyable.
Jesse Bryant I don't know. No matter how low the bar is set for dirty comedy, Gilbert Gottfried would still need to look up with a pair of binoculars to see it.
zizwop! This is the best comment regarding Regan and clean humor I've read. Spot on, you nailed it. He's so funny, you don't even think about it. The reason to see Regan live is not because it's clean humor but because it's fantastic humor which happens to be clean.
i love regan. i also love bill hicks, george carlin and katt williams. i don't think strong language makes art any more or any less valid. i think it's about the quality of the material and the talent of the artist in delivering it.
I had a similar experience using the phrase, “pissed off” back in college and my teacher let me know he found it offensive. Had no idea, I thought it was a normal phrase too.
I really don't care one way or the other about language. If someone's funny, they're funny. I just have a TON of respect for Regan for being able to do an absolutely hilarious set without cursing. That takes a boatload of talent.
I've seen Brian Regan 4+ times and his act is pretty clean, but that's not why I see him, it's because he's funny! He's an awesome observationalist...His live shows are amazing, even if he used profanity... I'd just as son see Kevin hart and he's as raunchy as any, same with Dan cummins (who I've also seen) or Katt Jennings, no racial or profanity barriers to comedy in my eyes, it's all hilarious,
Obviously, you speak for yourself and your standards are for chuckles only. However, isn't it also true that you can enjoy it more and with more people when it is 'clean'? Kevin Hart would be just as funny, if not more so, without the profanity. Bo Burnham is super talented in my opinion-but so foul I can't justify wading through all the filth to get the funny. I mean, most of what he says is pretty darn funny-but the absurd vulgarities ruin it. I mean, don't we all appreciate clean comedy more? _Just saying..._
In my opinion foul language is used as a crutch by many the comic, & if you're REALLY funny there's no need to use profane language. I say this even though I frequently use foul language BUT...I'm no comedian.
Even if you cuss, you need to be funny. Saying "fuck" at the right moment can be hilarious, but just saying fuck or shit has no comedic value. I think you do the hard work these comedians injustice assuming they are just funny because they cuss. I like clean comedy and I like blue comedy, it just has to be funny.
Context is the key. I don't understand why Stevelogical would think that someone offended by profane language has crossed wires or issues with human interaction. I also am unclear as to why you would think profane language effects the level of human interaction. Profanity can be used without sacrificing nuance, thought, class, taste and/or consideration...I try to fight the urge to pass judgment on strangers. I usually find that, when I give someone a chance, we both walk away more enlightened:)
@zidmt Two reasons. Some people need to hear laughter to think something is funny cause they can't tell for themselves and also there's the whole avoiding dead air thing.
@ratmanrussell IMAO means "In My Arrogant Opinion" It doesn't seem to fit where you've used it (I brought my favorite nun! IMAO), so I think that maybe you're don't really understand what it means. Just a friendly let you know.
You're absolutely right. Guess who needs to check their internet abbreviations? (I would insert a cute little embarrassed face here - but I don't know how!) I have always seen the "L" here as an 'i' (then it means In My Arrogant Opinion). My Bad. Thanks for being so civil about it, and for helping me become a slightly more educated web-surfer dude. By the time I start kindergarten should have this whole internet language thing worked out. Where would comedy be without dufusses like me? LMAO
I like Brian Regan a lot, and think he is extremely funny...don''t give a fuck though if he's a "Clean Comic". If a comedian is funny he or she is funny...language is meant to be used, including words which many think are dirty. Sometimes a clever joke or comment is funnier if punctuated by a good cuss word, you know what I fucking mean?
Go to a bunch of shows and see today's comics in the clubs, then lemme know how dirty Brian Regan is. They probably would have died from a lot fo peoples' sets.
I'm sure there are some clean comics who are boring as hell. Just as I know there are plenty of "blue" comics who are boring as hell. I don't judge a comic based on whether or not he or she is clean or blue, I judge them based on whether or not they make me laugh, and laugh hard. Brian Regan makes me laugh, a *lot*. I don't give a rat's ass that he's clean, he's just a tremendously funny man.
I think people that are offended by even the hardest curse words have some crossed wires or some mixed chemicals. If you can't, as a person, hear a word, and process it without being offended, you should just go live on an island somewhere because clearly human interaction isn't for you and probably never will be.
I think that Brian Regan has always been one of the humblest comedians I know of.
Brian Regan is soooooo funny. I love this guy. I guess if you don't like this guy, you can piss off.
I've liked his comedy for years, and it wasn't until a year ago that my sister pointed out he was totally clean-I never noticed, that's how funny he is.
❤❤😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣loved this, and Brian Regan. This is adequately good.
Yup, I too never noticed that Brian's act was clean until a few years ago when Dennis Miller mentioned it on the air (and how much he loves Brian's act). "Pissed off... I don't even know if I can say that here." Now that is one clean guy. Wow.
zizwop! This is the best comment regarding Regan and clean humor I've read. Spot on, you nailed it. He's so funny, you don't even think about it. The reason to see Regan live is not because it's clean humor but because it's fantastic humor which happens to be clean.
And that's another reason why we LOVE this guy!!!! He took it out of his act?!? That's amazing. Awesome!
Brian Regan is a class act. Proof that clean comedy is still just as funny as adult humor....
I have been fortunate enough when I heard about him to see him, twice and met him.😍
I love that he's clean AND hilarious!
he's very Very VERY adequate! Thanks for putting this up
i love regan. i also love bill hicks, george carlin and katt williams. i don't think strong language makes art any more or any less valid. i think it's about the quality of the material and the talent of the artist in delivering it.
muggedinmadrid well said
+muggedinmadrid It's not necessarily that there's language, but that too many people can't make anything funny without it.
I never really thought about the fact that he was clean, he was so funny i didn't notice.
his little league baseball one is the best man hahahha
I had a similar experience using the phrase, “pissed off” back in college and my teacher let me know he found it offensive. Had no idea, I thought it was a normal phrase too.
Adaquet?? No way! Brian Regan is the funniest comedian out there, hands down!!!
The guy is just about the funniest person I have ever listened!!! Awesome
i love how he is clean i don't mind the few hells here and there
I really don't care one way or the other about language. If someone's funny, they're funny. I just have a TON of respect for Regan for being able to do an absolutely hilarious set without cursing. That takes a boatload of talent.
Brian is the greatest ! Love the "nun" bit !
I've seen Brian Regan 4+ times and his act is pretty clean, but that's not why I see him, it's because he's funny! In Pensacola?
In my opinion foul language is used as a crutch by many the comic, & if you're REALLY funny there's no need to use profane language. I say this even though I frequently use foul language BUT...I'm no comedian.
+Steve Upisleeve - Bill Burr, fuck you.

You want franchise with that?
Haha! Coming Soon: Brian Regan in "The Reluctant Adequate". He's just so real it's almost unreal.
Adequate comedy. Brian Regan, I'm good.
Best comedian ever.
@Thedarkkatana i dont go to comedy shows, is that a lot compared to others? what is the normal price for other comedians?
T shirt with Brian Regan's Face....Hey! I'm Cocky and good!
Patton Oswalt is too. Hilarious as hell but he is very foul. lol.
Funniest comedian ever!!!! thumbs up if u agree

This message was approved by Brian Regan.

Sister Smegma, the Flying Beef Curtain
"Adequate Comedy!"
@wickkidda It obviously depends on the comic and location. $70 is on the expensive side, but I think it's worth it.
He is on Opie and Anthony show.
@TheFtocFactor I was under the impression it meant "laughing my ass off".
i brought my sister she likes clean comedy, and you had to say pissed off,
@zidmt
not a morning zoo, dude. They were hammered from 2-7pm
Agreed !!
@portalrunner117
Opie and Anthony, WNEW, 2001 i think. now XM 202 sirius 197
@ratmanrussell IMAO means "In My Arrogant Opinion"
It doesn't seem to fit where you've used it (I brought my favorite nun! IMAO), so I think that maybe you're don't really understand what it means. Just a friendly let you know.
I brought my favorite nun! lmao

Opie and Anthony program, from a long time ago. Probably 2002 or so.
I like Brian Regan a lot, and think he is extremely funny...don''t give a fuck though if he's a "Clean Comic".

The lowest ticket to his show in my town is $70...
@TheFtocFactor ???
@SuperSlifka Petifile? Does that mean he has a thing for short people?
is this a radio show?
I brought my favorite nun... & your using that kind of language?!
@ratmanrussell I loved that comment too, but you need to check your internet abbreviations.
Go to a bunch of shows and see today's comics in the clubs, then lemme know how dirty Brian Regan is.
They probably would have died from a lot fo peoples' sets.
he sounds like an american version of stewie
If they're offended by that, they'd be stunned by Bob Saget or Richard Pryor or Eddie Murphy.
Brian: I've always appreciated the fact you were clean
Radio guy: oh my god!
Roflmao
What station is this on an fm radio?
@wickkidda A few months ago I paid $20 to see Felipe Esparza and; $20 to $30 should be enough.
How about this: "He's clean, but he makes up for it by being funny." Well, that almost works, I think. I guess it needs work.
I'm sure there are some clean comics who are boring as hell. Just as I know there are plenty of "blue" comics who are boring as hell. psht says u
Why does every morning radio zoo crew laugh like silly hyneas?
Scratch that, how about Sam Kinison?!!!
Don't worry about it. Supermassively is super massively a jerk.

I often find the people offended by language are more fucked up than the people using the language
