Imagine if one kid in that class actually knew what a sigma was.
He could use E simple .. for Expression ... boom... those things can be anything they wanted

Student: asks question
Teacher: "just put your own goddamn brain into the question"

A while after this video was posted, overwatch added a new character called SIGMA, totally not copied
Lmao I had no idea😂😂
Kups asdfg I didn’t get the formula till after the kid said fools. 😂
This just did a loop some years after seeing it for the first time and it never gets old. Love the student that saw nothing and questioned everything. Good old fashioned teaching.
I lost it at the end when they couldn’t even figure out that the formula spelled out April Fools
Hey I didn’t see it either until he said it
Sameeeee
I did NOT figure out that formula said April fools until I saw ur comment xD
There to smart for that
Fine example of task saturation algorithm
Imagine being a studious person in the back thinking all along, "I think I understand!" and then getting told it's nonsense.
I understood how he was attempting to make it look semi-plausible, but also already understood it to be a joke (obviously).
That was me a few times. And I always took pride in my neat notes and organized binders.
Jokes on everyone, he will discover a new form of maths and a new form of torture for stoodents
see, my problem is that it made sense to me
I thought it was especially funny how he lied about making up the whole thing. This concept is called Reimann's Sum. He got a couple minor things wrong though like the equation for rise over run. I was an A/B Engineering student at UT Austin and aced AP Calculus in high school. He just didn't wanna unnecessarily scare/scar them with just how deep the rabbit whole can go I bet XD
This is clever 😂

This is actually a really good exercise for the students, trying to discern sense from nonsense. They are actively engaging their powers of reasoning.
When he wrote down "april fool" and this one kid goes:
"Hold on...... is that an e or an l?"
My hopes were so high that he would get it hahah

Kudos to that female student who role played and kept the lie going. That’s what made it so convincing.
I wish there was someone not in on the joke who said "Ooooh now I get it" and start explaining something that actually makes sense and could lead to a new discovery in maths.

My Calculus professor was being cute one day and put a really complicated theorem on the board. The entire class was panicking trying to figure it out. Almost immediately I raised my hand. (I'm a class clown with a love of books.) Prof calls on me and every head turned to me. I said, with full confidence, "42!" He said "why is it 42?" I said "because 42 is the ultimate answer." I get 10 bonus points on the weekly exam for that and I discovered my Prof likes reading the same books I do. No one else in the class ever got the joke.

By bringing fun and humour into learning it makes it memorable, on top of which he encourages students to ask questions. He obviously loves teaching and you can see all his students will achieve much better results because he has time, energy and a wonderful persona...
