I met Elvis in Las Vegas Feb 1970 on my honeymoon. To cut a long story short, my wife and I were invited to one of his after parties at the Hilton. We bumped into Red West on the elevator and he invited us to the party just because we were from Australia. The concert was great and excited we were going to meet him that night. There was about 50-60 people . When Elvis walked in the room went quiet. Girls were staring and guys were speechless! I remember saying to my wife.. Who is this man! Charisma was just oozing out of him. He came around to everyone in the room and shook hands and kissed all the girls there ( my wife was never the same after the kiss..lol) but he was a true gentleman and showed a lot of respect to everyone. He said to us here was coming to Australia one day but wasn’t sure when. I’m 92 today and we still talk about that night today. A true true gentleman who respected everyone . Take care and stay safe....

Dani, You are so precious! Watching you react to Elvis has become one of my favorite things to do because you’re so honest. I’m 69 and had a brother 13 years older than me; so Elvis has been part of my life since I was about 4 years old. In my brother’s senior picture he has Elvis hair. I used to watch him get that duck tail in the back just right, comb everything back, kind of plump up the top, then pull just a few hairs down to hang on his forehead. It always had to be just so. You enjoy Elvis’s performances and his movements, as well as his voice; so I would love to hear you play Jailhouse Rock, but from the movie with the legendary performance. He was so nervous about doing this. He didn’t think he could dance. Choreographer Alex Romero originally had a different routine for Elvis. Elvis wasn’t comfortable with it. Alex had him perform some of his songs to show him what he could do. Mr. Romero went home that night and the next morning presented Elvis with the new steps and Elvis whipped right through it. I read in comments a lot where people say that Elvis choreographed it, but he didn’t. Still, it is fabulous. There is another song in the movie he sings by the swimming pool, entertaining guests at a party he is having. He is wearing a sweater. I can’t remember the name of the song. I’ll find it and get back to you if another one of your people doesn’t tell you first!!! Someone will know. Thank you for all the time and energy you put into your channel. It is very much appreciated.

Aw thank you sooo much!! That is such a sweet story about your brother! I would love to react to Jailhouse Rock -- I just watched the movie this weekend with my family -- that performance was INCREDIBLE. I can't react to it now that I've seen it -- but I can react to a performance of it. His dancing was sooo awesome, I was wondering if it was choreographed or not. Thank you for sharing that with me!!

Such a gorgeous looking man but he wasn't full of himself, which made him even more endearing. I love how Elvis has touched many generations w/his music & still today he is the King of Rock & Roll. Thank you for ALL your Elvis reactions, I LITERALLY could watch Elvis all day. Miss Atkinson, firstly, thank you for bringing a unique perspective to the numerous Elvis videos that you have showcased. Your appreciation as an artist and fan are terrific. And I love how you immerse yourself in the video. Elvis was mesmerizing, astetically I have never seen a better looking individual in my entire life. ( And I am 100% male ). His ability to perform any type of music, to this very day, remains unchallenged. His universal appeal around THE WORLD!!!!, still unequaled. ( and the only country that he performed in, outside the United States, was Canada ). Sixty six years ago, on July 5th 1954. A young man stepped before a microphone and helped to redefine not only a generation but in the process cemented himself as the most influential entertainer in history. And remained humble, respectful and grateful throughout a very brief but impactful journey. Mike Beal

Aug 16, 1977 was a very sad day. We all took that loss very hard.
The 60's were filled with my Mom wearing out her Elvis records on the suit case record player and me finding my favorite Elvis songs that I love to this day.
In 1977 Way Down had just been released and Elvis was back on the radio giving us all great music once again and the King was looking forward to the 80's.
The day his heart stopped beating a piece of so many of our hearts broke and that sadness is something that has been part of all the memories that make Elvis the King of Rock and Roll.
We all lost something so special that day. TCB

Hi Dani, your reactions are fun to watch, so real and heartfelt, welcome to Elvis world. To give you a little background, when Elvis was on TV it was the biggest event ever, everybody would talk about it for days before the event because it was so rare to see him, after he returned from the army, he did this special, 1960, then he went to hollywood and made about 30 films in the early 60s. He never did interviews and was never on any talk shows. the next time he performed on TV was his 68' comback special, then in 73' he did "Aloha from Hawaii" special. Those were the only 3 times he was on TV from 1960 until his passing in August 1977. So thats why when he was on TV it was a world event because unless u watched his movies or went to his Las Vegas show or his touring concerts, you only saw him 3 times in 17 years.

Luv watching you discovering Elvis. I was 3 years old when he was on Ed Sullivan. I remember sitting in front of the TV, I got up and was dancing to the music and my mom could not believe it. I’m 66 now and still all Elvis. He knew how to hold the audience in the palm of his hands, and still could thru all his years. Miss him; but I listen to him a lot. He truly had a God-given talent and his voice had so many dimensions, from base to high tenor. But he was a lonely soul and didn’t know how to live with it. God bless Lisa Marie, her girls and Priscilla in the loss of Benjamin.

Again I agree with you ELVIS was placed here from another planet. Elvis was paid $125,000 for the show and he was on air for only about 10 mins in total. $125,000 in 1960 is just over $1m in today's money.

I heard Elvis quoted as saying that "music is all about letting out what you're feeling inside." So he shared his feelings (fun, sad, serious, loving) with us with everything he had. It's adorable to see you react to him now, with responses just like I did 60 +/- years ago. And I've never tired of hearing him sing more and more.

He hadn’t been on tv for 3 years (following his last performance on the Ed Sullivan show in early 57)...he wouldn’t grace tv screens again until his Comeback Special 8 years later. Love watching Sinatra squirming and making a complete u-turn on this show after his derogatory comments on Elvis and rock ‘n’ roll music in the 50s. And paying Elvis an unprecedented fee of $125,000 for about 8 minutes work!!

I love your honest reactions, Dani. We all have our favorites and I would say keep reacting to Elvis if you feel like it. My biggest childhood memory of Elvis is seeing one of his albums being advertised for sale on TV in a commercial and liking the snippet of the song “Teddy Bear” so much that I ordered the album off TV. So I guess I would request a reaction to “Teddy Bear”
