Yes I was listening on iheart and had to switch over to yell at you 2 putz's about not knowing why SS is 6 and the reason is that it was actually a Short Stop from the OF to the INF back in the 1800s. SS didn't actually play in the infield and originated as more of a rover in the OF. Over time they migrated to where they are now but if you go numbering by position then 6 makes sense if you look at where SS originally played.

SS is 6 because 3B is a base which has importance in the game. Just like they go 3 for 1B and go backwards instead of 3 for 3B and going in a logical direction. Did ask that when I was a kid too, that was my dad’s answer so always been my opinion… could be wrong 😂
