    Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 2 quickly became the Leia & Reva show. We're back to The Mandalorian babysitting series with Obi-Wan getting blamed by Leia for HER decision to jump off a roof, crazy! But what did you think? Let me know your thoughts below, and as always, thanks for watching :)

    • @MegaSpideyman
      @MegaSpideyman 2 года назад +20

      Yeah, it's like it's really reaching for oppression for no good reason and against a human, essentially, when the presence of multiple species of aliens and droids makes this largely nonsensical.

      The actually oppressed people where alien races in the Empire.
      Because the empire actually was racist towards "non humans". You could have done some meaningful commentary with that while not breaking canon. But obviously we can't have something that is actually intelligently written in Star Wars (well, besides Andor maybe. That show actually was well written, to my surprise)
      Also tells you how damn good Thrawn was, because he got a very high position as an alien.

      More likely is that he and his "species" is human offshoot. Some genetic tinkering and you have white man become blue man xD
      Also, humans are majority in the Galaxy far far away. Why they should bend over and take from other species?
      By the way, humans aren't "raycyst". Aliens are another species, ya bloody SJW. And with just how US is getting done in the backend by protected minorities, no wonder humans in the Galaxy far far away aren't talking from behind.

      Yup, I'm a Star Wars casual myself. Watched the movies, read a few comics a long time ago and did a bit of research, but even without background knowledge of the wider lore, any thinking person should realise how inconsistent Obi Wan is in the show. When I first saw him chopping up salomon and being miserable I immediately thought that they Rian Johnsonned him like they did Luke in TLJ. Also, the supporting characters (although it's difficult to say who's the protagonist) are exceptionally stupid and incompletet. But no, Kenobi is the best thing ever and some said that "it has great acting and writting" while others stated that it's the best thing on streaming services rn

    When Reva opened the door and blurted out "Where is he?' I literally laughed out loud. Apart from the terrible delivery, the question was totally unnecessary , and just confirms just pathetic the writers are in not understanding this. A proper intelligent villain would not need to ask any questions. A cold gaze across the room and silence would have been far more effective but that's too subtle and intelligent for these idiot writers.

    They were suppose to cast a 10 yr old for Leia, but the tiny actress was 8 during filming so that's another reason why she runs like a toddler in the slowest chase scene(s) in StarWars history.
    The kid is not a great actress but the fault lies mainly with the horrible writers who have no idea how children talk and act beyond the casting couch :/
    Trying to force an 8 year old to project strength and intellect using lines written by adults just comes off as bratty and annoying. If any of her actions resulted in a better outcome that would be one thing, but when everything she does only makes the situation worse, one can't help but hate the character more!

She would have been "bumped on the head" pretty harshly by her "kidnappers," so that Old Ben would have returned her unconscious for most of the journey. He was part of the Jedi Masters who missed Palpatine, was a key figure in the development of the clone army, he personally trained Anakin and lost him right under his nose, he thought he had slaughtered Anakin and yet he lived to suffer. Everything he believed in with the Jedi order had been destroyed, essentially no one was better placed to have to have foreseen the future and the risk that Anakin posed. The Jedi got things wrong, they weren’t the perfection they aspired to be.
      Then he spends 10 years in exile on a barren desert planet as a grunt odd job man, living in a cave away from society every day fearing for his life. What Jedi or wannabe Jedi left are mostly all dead. What hope is there for Luke or Leia even if they survive? Who’s to say either of them also turn to the dark side? The rebel alliance hasn’t really been fleshed out in terms of development, so I’m guessing at that time in history there wasn’t an option to muster a viable army to fight the Empire. He was on his own. All he had to focus on was Luke, and it was mentioned somewhere that if Anakin wasn’t the saviour of the force - then one of his kids might be instead. That’s the only grain of hope he has left to cling to. Let’s face it, there are many sloppy plot lines in STW especially Death Stars having ridiculous hit my destruct button not once but twice! OMG! This show is so bad. The kid playing Leia cannot run worth a crap, yet she outruns everyone. The writing, acting and storyline are horrendous. This is much worse then I would have ever imagined it could be. Maybe it is actually supposed to be a comedy.

    Why was he so hesitant to save Leia?? When did he become so partial to one of the twins? It doesn't make any sense. They should have used Leia's kidnapping to ignite a flame within him and snap back into his old ways.

    • @rpgadventurer32
      @rpgadventurer32 2 года назад +6

      Not accurate. He was devoted more to watch over Luke and train him thinking that he was going to be the one with the potential of his father and the potential to save the Jedi which he did. Yoda wasn't so sure, but that was only revealed at the end of the third movie of the original trilogy - at that point that information was only used as more motivation for Luke to defeat his father and protect his sister because of her own potential with the force. Obi Wan's prime mission was to watch over Luke, he should've never left the planet without guaranteeing Luke's safety first - that's the biggest problem in the first ep. Lea should've remained safe with her adoptive parents, the whole plot makes very little sense to the canon, she shouldn't even be a part of the show. Obviously, he also shouldn't have rejected the lone jedi's plea for help in the first ep. The plot is full of holes and contradictions to the main canon and the original trilogy.

      @@masonthurman Yea. He's not. The funny thing is that the strong devotion for Luke and the Jedi cause exists in the comics from Disney. He saved him multiple times on Tatooine in added comics lore that they had from the past decade. They're contradicting their own version of the events from their own comics with this show.

    Its really beyond me how people could not like this show. The writers are clearly excellent, with a lot of enthusiasm and love for the franchise. Thats why every word out of Blowme´s mouth is convincing and coherrent, as well as in line with the character. The director focusses on whats important for the story, while paying a lot of attention to stay faithful to the source material, especially when it comes to the Jedi mythos. I would love to see more of these less important side characters tell me about their backstories, but staying with the main character almost all the time really reinforces the importance of his mission, which he adamantly follows. Hes a wonderful role model for strength of will and staying true to his beliefs while helping others to deal with their doubts. Like Luke Skywalker in "The last Jedi", hes the hero we all deserve.

    it just shows an utter incomprehension of not just the genre or the show, but writing in general. without consistency there is nothing. without consistency there is no world, no tension, no reason behind the story. every moment of the story is a deus ex machina because at any single moment absolutely anything could happen in contradiction of everything that has come before. the plot becomes a meaningless series of disconnected events, like a child telling a story...
