What did you think of Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3 (or your impressions from the review)? Did you think it was a good idea to have Obi-wan Kenobi fight Vader? Are you a fan of Leia or Reva? Let me know your thoughts below, and as always, thanks for watching :)
Vader: I can use the force to extinguish flames. Let me show you. Woman creates flames between him and obiwan. Vader: damn, now what do i do? Thwarted again.
Kenobi freaking out over a rendezvous pisses me off. This man was a General of the Republic for three years of constant warfare. He led legions into battle. He made plans. He ran operations on his own. And we're supposed to believe this man doesn't know how a rendezvous or shakeout works?!!
because he has a lightsaber on him, lightsabers are outlawed in the galaxy under empirial rule, hes freaked out because if they find it they know hes a jedi, more so hes afraid they will recognise him, GOD its like haters of thiss show dont engage their brain.
@@TheFallinhalo The difference between religious fanatics and Star Wars fans lies only in their object of their adoration. Everything else is the same. Including the habit of making excuses to save face for their deity, and then passing it off as fact. Every Jedi survivor of this era are in fear if they get caught with a lightsaber on them. Yet they continue with their mission regardless. Obi-Wan panicking from fear makes sense for you superficially, but one must ask why is Obi-Wan written as someone who bounces around between fatal bravado and cowardly despair. One moment he doesn't want the mission, the next he's in disguise in a drug den. One moment he's in fear of Vader as he watches him kill villagers, the next he tries to be a distraction only to realise in the quarry he has no plan. Even though nothing actually stopped him from running away with Leia.
It's strange that this mission seemed poorly thought out by Obi-Wan and Bail. There seems to be no plan for extraction after Obi-Wan gets Leia. No plan for check-in comms. Only by the power of serendipity did they find and escape via a smuggling network. Does Bail actually wants his daughter back?
The thing is.... narratively.... there shouldn't even be an Obi Wan show. He went into exile with the sole purpose of watching over and protecting Luke. That's it. He doesn't abandon his post for an adventure and he certainly doesn't rescue Leia or confront Vader in battle. He stays on Tatooine and does nothing really but study the force and watch Luke from afar. That's it. No show, no adventure. Just a boring, lonely life in exile waiting until the force calls upon him again in a New Hope.
There is an EU book series (4 books) that are highschool reading level that talk about Obi Wan finding out that there were some investigators snooping around Padmes death and that it could lead to the children, so he leaves to cover up the trail. Really well done, and does well to stick to the main storyline from Lucas, unlike this show.
With talented writers just about any premise can be mined for entertainment. Unfortunately they don’t have any talented writers and they’re hell bent on the character assassination of the only OT character they hadn’t disrespected yet. Except Vader of course, but I’m sure they’re saving the best for last. Before this is all over they’ll destroy him too.
can you stop using that as an excuse for dismissing the bad writing and flaws in the show? it's one thing to say if it was greenlit but cancelled for that reason, but it was STILL MADE. The potential was there for showing why Obi Wan Kenobi is the way he is in ANH after RoTS. was it critical to know? No, but I think alot of people were curious to see how Kenobi handled the guilt with anakin and the fallout of the jedi.
Exactly. Not enough people are bringing this up. I think it’s entirely possible to make a miniseries, likely smaller than this miniseries that has an interesting plot for what obi wan does while I’m hiding protecting Luke. I’d imagine it would concern a more fantastical side of the force where obi wan communes with Qui gon and other mystical parts of the force, all while in his cave waiting to train Luke. I just don’t think Disney is willing to hire the writers that could pull that off.
Fans: We want a Kenobi show. Disney: Ok, we will give you a Type-B of Power and Leia show and If you don't like it you are racist. Fans: We want a Top Gun Movie Tom Cruise: "This one is for the fans."
I want to continue this script... Fans: hey you're really good at shooting air fighting scenes, just like in Tron and Oblivion Kosinski: thanks I love doing those scenes Fans: and you know how to put together exciting and uplifting scenes appropriately timed with uplifting music. Kosinki: its just what I do Fans: why haven't you done a Star Wars movie? Kosinski: .....I would lov- Kathleen: REEEEEE NOOOOOOO

@@MrNikkistyles how to say I have no idea of what's going on, without saying I have no idea of what's going on. Yes, there was an article released explaining how Moses Ingram was warned by Disney and Lucas Film that she would recieve wacist comments before the 1st episode was even aired!!! The only way Luca film and Disney could know that, is if they acknowledged the show was shite, and preemptively released that article to shield from fan criticism. And that's exactly what's happened. Have you seen any tweets of facebook posts, or youtube videos of any fan making racist comments about Moses Ingram? Nope, neither have I, all I've seen is comments and videos criticising the poor writing, directing and acting, nothing else!!
Yes, i understand that goofy lil Leia chasing scene, it was bad, but what was wrong with that awesome Vader vs Obi-Wan scene? Vader didn't wanna kill him. He could, easily of course, but he wants him to suffer more. He wants to face him again when his stronger. Vader doesn’t want the hunt end so fast. And we might see that powerful Obi-Wan again. This was just a fearful old uncle Ben what we saw now.
@@JohnnyRaven69 It doesn’t make sense at all. You’re finding excuses for Disney. If Vader wants Kenobi to suffer as you say, why not take him prisoner and torture him endlessly?
@@andreasgoransson He doesn't want that. He has conflict. Always has. He still has feelings for Obi-Wan. Because of that, he couldn't kill Luke either. Sure, he wants Obi-Wan to suffer, but he also wants to hunt and play with him before he kills him. He has no one in his old life but Emperor and Obi-Wan.
The laser barrier scene made me laugh. Hmmm..how are we going to get past this deadly laser barrier!? Off switch doesn't work, imma have to shoot it. Switch to wide shot, showing two ways you could walk around it. Jeeze
So Obi Wan stays on Tattoine to look after Luke but doesn’t bother to keep his skills up just in case the Empire shows up one day…this Obi Wan can’t even protect himself.
also. if he's "the last jedi" out there. he sould keep training until his last breath to keep atleast some peace in the galaxy. but no. ofc. not powerful type B shoots one time and literally makes vader to fall back LMAO
I blame Ewan for allowing himself to be complicit in this character assassination. He is a pretty good actor and was charming as Obi-Wan, but if you watch interviews with him from recent years you can see he became a huge SJW.
He's an actor, it's paid work......before this Ewan was always brutally honest about the Prequels & even declaring he's not bothered about returning. Like most actors, money talks & also pays the bills 💯
I find it interesting that a man who trained his entire life with a light sabre is utterly useless with it after a ten year gap, but somehow has John Wick levels of competence with a blaster having never ever used one.
I recall at least two times when Obi-Wan dismisses blasters as "primitive," yet he has no qualms about using them in Clone Wars or in this shitty show. They don't even try to keep the stories straight. There's no coherence, no continuity, no sense of an overall story with integrated plot points. I realize that's probably difficult with such a huge franchise that includes many games, novels, comic books, and films, but they could at least make the attempt.
@@ElveeKaye not primitive, uncivilised. There is a difference, like with a gun and a sword. Sword takes years to master and to kill an oponnent you have to be better than him, while guns (compared to swords) require little training and can be used with great efects with basic training. Obi wan and his hatred towards blasters is direct throwback to knights hating bows.
Can't shake the feeling that much like Boba Fett everything looks so damn cheap in this show, down to the sets, the effects and the general cinematography. There's no passion or love put into it and is just another character assassination attempt by Disney.
@@soulrebel6309 Disney has taken the brand & just turned it into Star Trek, a different show every few months that u either watch or u don't. @@Jasonwho1974 Disney has taken the brand & just turned it into Star Trek, As a fan of both SW and ST I find this statement offensive. Star trek was always more celebral, star trek asked big questions, it was not about long shots and sitting in a space bus.
Dude was supposed to be training under a Ghost Qui-Gon for 10 or more years, not shrinking from responsibility. Obi-Wan shrinking from responsibility is even more out of character than what was done to Luke.
Kenobi Novel EU... prologue after Kenobi drops Luke at the Lars's... communes with Qui Gon very beautiful very haunting dialogue. Depth great writing fun adventures... not like this mess Disney crapped upon us.
I think the idea is that between the fall of the Republic and his own failures as a teacher and a brother to Anakin he's just been broken. Depending on how the rest of the episodes play out perhaps we will get to see himself reignite his old flame and develop back into the once great Jedi master he was. I hope
@@takeshikovacks6708 personally I liked episode 3, Reva was doing her usual stuff but I don't really care cause I'm hoping the grand inquisitors gonna come back and be like " you trying to take my title"* kills her*
33:57 Actually, I believe the line is 'the ears have made you weak.' It's clearly a meta reference to the Mouse's character assassination of every OT character they can justify making a show for
I could have substituted that line with what Bane said in The Dark Knight Rises: "Peace has cost you your strength, victory has defeated you!" This whole fight could have taken the template from that movie, and it will still keep Obi-Wan's plot armour in captivity.
Well of course , one side can properly handle galactic affairs for better or worse. The other couldn’t even manage a fast food restaurant without screwing it up.
I think the Mandalorian especially missed an opportunity to make the Empire less True Evil and more nuanced. Instead of just straight up space Nazis we could have had efficient yet brutal and authoritarian but with way more gray areas. Would have made for a much more interesting antagonistic faction.
Honestly fuck disney. Except for Star Wars The Clone Wars season 7 and the mandalorian, everything Disney touches, is an absolute travesty. This even extends to Marvel. It's an absolute joke these days... And this constant bait and switch is really starting to piss me off. I don't think I'll finish the show.
Drinker was losing his cool the other day about this show when on a live stream… I don’t think I’ve seen him as angry lol. His series summary is going to be brutal.
Obi-Wan successfully fought a bunch of stormtroopers at a check point. But when a female stormtrooper and a female imperial officer shows up it's instant surrender time. Good call Obi-Wan, no point in fighting the matriarchy. They would have had you written straight out of this show had you tried something funny.
Even then, the stormtroopers couldn't command a surrender properly. Obi-Wan lay flat on the floor whilst holding his blaster. That's how you get "I surrender, suckers".
I think this characterization of Leia is doing a wonderful job with regards to helping us understand how her maddening interpersonal behaviors led to the Empire destroying her home planet after years of dealing with her.
- Alderaan it is, - But sir, she already told us that rebel base is at... - I do not care about goddamn rebel base...I had to sit in this goddamn palace listening to Bail Organa going on and on about the hardships of working class while he sits around in lavish palace and his daughter is dressed by no less than three servants. Alderaan has to go...
They actually did the galaxy a favor by annihilating Alderaan, and Luke was a mass murderer for destroying the Death Star. Thanks, Disney, for totally changing the meaning of everything that happened in the OT.
@@ElveeKaye Vader: "You detonated a space station with no less than one million families and civilian employees. Good job, son. You beat your old man's record in a single afternoon."
Obi wan has obviously lost his force speed power when running that he had in phantom menace, but Vader has gained Jason voorhees sith power of stalking his prey.
To be fair, Obi almost never uses that ability after the scene in Phantom Menace. Lucas made a mistake changing the Jedi from wise monk-like warriors with some light Force augmentation to the frigg’in Justice League. Your point is still valid though. Kenobi has regressed to Bespin-Luke levels, and Vader has become quite nimble despite being encumbered by cybernetics.
@@schwaaard Woah, Bespin-Luke was way more skilled and powerful than Obi-Wan is here. Remember, Luke stood up to an intense barrage Vader hammered on him on that bridge for a good 20 seconds.
We’re halfway through the series and the series has taught us………nothing. All the tension they’re also trying to build is unnecessary as well. We know Kenobi survives, we know Leia survives. The new inquisitor characters are vastly unlikeable so who cares what happens to them? It’s a totally peril-less show.
It’s never the beginning or ending of a story that important; it’s always the journey - everything in between. • Keep in mind that in the EU, Obi-Wan was called to leave Tatooine once before in the _Kenobi_ novel. In that novel, he could commune with Qui-Gon; and Obi-Wan was given some assurances. • Luke was still safe from Vader, • Vader would never set foot on Tatooine again without awakening the parts of him that are still good, because the part of Vader’s persona that is still Anakin in merely “imprisoned,” not destroyed. • So Obi-Wan starting out virtually cut off from The Force, and his struggle to both retrieve, protect, and return Leia are a journey in itself. It’s the answer to how Obi-Wan regains most of his Force prowess along with added hope for the future, and the training he needs to ascend and become a Force Spirit when his time arrives.
Not true. It's taught us a valuable lesson once again on how much Kathleen Kennedy despises Gorge Lucas' characters. Stephen Spielberg's recollection of Kennedy's contributions to the original Star Wars was "She was really good at interrupting people". She's a bureaucrat with no talent of her own and a chip on her shoulder who is gleefully tearing down Star Wars.
You know, I've been wondering... Obi-Wan is watching over Luke because he needed to train him when the time comes, right? So does him not being able to use the Force worries him a bit? I mean, how is he supposed to train Luke in the Force when he can't use the Force himself!?
Not only that, but how is he meant to safeguard Luke if he has become so inept at using both his lightsaber and the force. I mean both he and the galaxy are completely screwed if someone like Vader or Maul shows up on Tatooine, and he has to defend Luke.
Also worth mentioning is the invisible walls that are seemingly pop up whenever the plot requires it. Obi Wan has to waste time destroying the laser checkpoint, even though there's more than two feet of clearance that he and Leia could walk around on either side, especially since they ditched the transport anyway. Darth Vader and the stormtroopers are completely stopped by a low wall of flames, despite the fact that you could easily shoot over it, and there is clearly more than enough space to walk around it. It's like the writers played too much Pokemon and think one weed is enough to impede someone's travel!
Great video. Imagine how many downtimes Yoda went through in 900 years of being alive. If he had the same mentality that Obi-Wan had the Jedi would have failed before it ever got off the ground.
OG Kenobi: "You're not listening to some random brat." Driver: "I'm not listening to some random brat!" OG Kenobi: "We can walk to the nearest station which is...?" Driver: "You can walk to the nearest station which is just down this road." OG Kenobi: "Move along." Driver: ** OG Kenobi: **
Well, only works with the mentally weak. Wasn't effective on Watto in EP1. So maybe it would have been too risky. But he should have done it with the Stormtrooper in front of the gate at the very last. This show is effing ridiculous...
Can't have a white male discipline a female... even if she is 10 years old and acts in a braindead way that gets you in danger. Respect Rhamen The Force is Female Be Wokey etc.
Last week, Reva send a picture of Obi-Wan to every bounty hunter on the planet. Consequently everbody immidiatly recognized him. This week, the stormtrooper doesn't even know the name of the Jedi (and girl) they are searching.
The scene was shot in such a way that it looked like satire or a comedy sketch. Down to the long pause before the long shot of Obi Wan awkwardly running away from Vader. Then Vader just standing the with his light saber like “seriously”. It was so embarrassing for that character. We waited 20 years for what amounted to a scene from Space Balls.

I fell asleep again so I came here to have the episode explained to me. Thank you, Sir for enduring this painful experience so I don't have to. You're the true hero of this series.
Get me a quantum theory expert to explain how strong type b inquisitor and strong type b rebel didn't run into each other in A TUNNEL. Or why Vader and the troopers just gave up when they could easily have side-stepped the fire.
Vader deliberately let Obi-Wan go because Obi-Wan has came out of hiding and so he is now the most wanted man in the Galaxy, Vader feels assured he wont get far, drawing out the chase, you can tell Vader want's to torture and humiliate Obi-Wan as much as possible. Notice how Vader didn't move during the sniper fire, it could also be that once Vader saw someone grab Kenobi and carry him away, he realizes there is somekind of network helping the master Jedi; so Vader could also be using this and drawing out his pursuit of Kenobi now to lead him to more Jedi. So even though Vader hates Obi-Wan he has still been tasked with hunting down all Jedi in the Galaxy.
@@RaikenXion Vader isn’t a Saiyan or a sadist. He doesn’t live for the chase. He is consumed with hatred. Dark Side is nothing but impatience, impulse, revenge, animus, etc.., Someone as removed and seasoned as Palpatine can make calculated sinister plans, and Sith aren’t stupid per-se. But patience is not a virtue, and you’d be hard put to find many instances of Sith playing with their food just to humiliate it. The idea that a Sith obsessed with murdering the Jedi who betrayed (ostensibly) and maimed him would casually let him go is, quite frankly, ridiculous. There is no network or even cadre of Jedi worth letting Kenobi escape. The vast majority of masters and Jedi leaders are already dead-Kenobi is one of the last top-tier threats out there. You don’t let a premium, known target go to maybe possibly uncover a few nobodies. If you suspect there’s a network on the scrubby planet, you can easily hunt for it (particularly with someone like Reva who can find secret passages and do pretty much anything she wants without any difficulty) while still holding onto or killing the Jedi master who has fallen into your lap. This is simply a case of insipid writers needing a plot point to happen, and not possessing the care or intelligence to create a rational, plausible mechanism to make it happen. Stupidity can always be justified or retconned. There is no story that can’t be finessed into some form of cohesion. A five year old’s plot for their Lego/action figure playtime can be justified with enough effort. This series, however, like most Disney products, requires a lobotomy to appreciate.

@@mallninja9805 no. Completely wrong. George was getting old so wanted to sell Star Wars to someone who had the resources to continue it's legacy. He even created treatments for episodes 7, 8 and 9. Clearly the writers of the "Reva and Lil Leia Show" went to the Rian Johnson School of Scriptwriting. Lesson #1: The Emotional Moment [TM] is the most important part of any story, no matter the genre. The Writer ought never feel constrained by logic (internal or external), characterization, consistency, plot, sequels, prequels, contractual obligations, or fan expectations if they interfere with your Emotional Moments [TM]. The true genius of a writer is demonstrated by the number and volume of his/her Emotional Moments [TM]. Next week, Lesson #2: Reminding fans that they / their theories suck in a social media age.
The sad thing is it actually works. Go onto any clips of the show and it's just positivity. The fans don't care about continuity or internal consistency or any of that, they just want the flashing lights and emotional moments.
Obi-wan was never a super alpha male chad showing off his dick. The portrayal of the character is pretty consistent. He did after all "fail" and contribute to downfall of the jedi. The guy has been hiding out for 10 years just "watching". Of course there will be depression, self doubt and lack of conviction. He wasn't a leader, he was more of a follower, to begin with.
The week after, Lesson #3: Keep re-labelling criticism as racism, so you can blur the lines between the two and avoid accountability for bad writing, directing, casting and acting.
22:24 It's amazing looking back then how people at Disney always tries to normalize characters bizarre faults as if they are nothing. This happens here and at the end of the series, but also in WandaWision and now with Ahsoka when Ahsoka doesn't hold Sabine accountable by what she has done. Honestly, it has happened so many times that it could even be its own trope
Obi-Wan was a Jedi Master, his abilities were ingrained into his instincts. He can wield the force as easy as walking. IMO 10 yrs isn’t long enough to become a weak geezer. This has more to do with Virtual signaling than PTSD.
You sell him too short. Obi-wan was a WAR-HERO and General, veteran of a galactic war, survived Order 66 and literally crippled Palpatine’s ultimate weapon, necessitating the need for Palpatine to allow Luke to live to be his Plan B in creating the ultimate Sith. He has conducted successful missions which included infiltration, espionage, full-frontal assaults and diplomacy - and ultimately ended the war when he defeated serial jedi-killer General Grevious in one-in-one combat. People keep forgetting that Darth Vader is a god-damn cripple, trapped in a shell that only allows him to use a mere fraction of his potential. Palpatine dubbed Anakin ‘Darth Vader’, grooming him into becoming the ultimate Sith - until Obi-wan CRIPPLED Anakin, completely foiling the ‘ultimate sith’. Darth Vader is a walking FAILURE who Palpatine kept around solely so LUKE could kill him and become the new uncrippled ultimate sith. This Obiwan ran away from THIS Darth Vader. Its nonsense.
I laughed when the stormtroopers in the car just walked off. And at the very end when Vader was staring at him I just shouted "what are you DOING?!" lmao I have no idea how no actor in that scene stopped filming and said "this is crazy".
I was chatting with a fan of the show and he said that he fully expected Obi-Wan to be depicted as incredibly powerful by the end. Lol. Don’t think so. When are these people going to learn.
People thinking Obi-Wan was powerful, or even remotely able to hold his own against pre-ANH Vader are the same people whose knowledge of Star Wars begins and ends with the movies.
@@temporaryvideos364 Umm....so, according to you and your comment, Obi-Wan isn't powerful. And that's why he was tasked with protecting Luke? And that's why he became a Master Jedi? At the scene at the checkpoint, WHY DIDN'T HE USE THE FORCE! the perfect opportunity to do a "these are not the droids you are looking for", he starts shooting with a blaster!!!! @@RaikenXion how does one become rusty in the force? If you had experienced it most of your life from when you were a child how would ten years really affect your ability with it?
Man I'm pretty sure it's not the writers' fault. The character assassination of beloved characters is the norm these days. You'd think they'd write better plots due to the fact that they had more than a year (at least) to come up with a good story. This is damned 'divine intervention' from the higher ups. The real question is 'WHY' are the writers not allowed to create satisfying stories that most fans will enjoy. Competent protagonists + lightsaber fights covers + like 80% of the quota.
The most glaring non-think of the scriptwriter(s) in this episode is the fact that Obi-Wan and Leia escaped onto an automated transport ship, and the EMPIRE can't just check where that transport is going and intercept it? Must be some incredibly secret and powerful shipping company. I know that Reva managed to get the info but does nothing about it even though she's talking directly to Vader? The empire seems to value bureaucracy, non communication and an overall mañana attitude.

The amount of laughter I got out of your review was good, so thank you for that! My little grey cells are gonna have to recover for a week though because of how horrendous the writing is, even hearing it second-hand.
Watching this milk-toast version of Obi… I mean Ben… compelled me to look up My favorite passage from Revenge of Sith novel describing Kenobi’s style in context of personality and use of the force… There is an understated elegance in Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber technique, one that is quite unlike the feel one might get from the other great swordsbeings of the Jedi Order. He lacks entirely the flash, the pure bold élan of Anakin “Skywalker; there is nowhere in him the penumbral ferocity of a Mace Windu or a Depa Billaba nor the stylish grace of a Shaak Ti or a Dooku, and he is nothing resembling the whirlwind of destruction that Yoda can become. He is simplicity itself. That is his power. Before Obi-Wan had left Coruscant, Mace Windu had told him of facing Grievous in single combat atop a mag-lev train during the general’s daring raid to capture Palpatine. Mace had told him how the computers slaved to Grievous’s brain had apparently analyzed even Mace’s unconventionally lethal Vaapad and had been able to respond in kind after a single exchange. “He must have been trained by Count Dooku,” Mace had said, “so you can expect Makashi as well; given the number of Jedi he has fought and slain, you must expect” “that he can attack in any style, or all of them. In fact, Obi-Wan, I believe that of all living Jedi, you have the best chance to defeat him.” This pronouncement had startled Obi-Wan, and he had protested. After all, the only form in which he was truly even proficient was Soresu, which was the most common lightsaber form in the Jedi Order. Founded upon the basic deflection principles all Padawans were taught-to enable them to protect themselves from blaster bolts-Soresu was very simple, and so restrained and defense-oriented that it was very nearly downright passive. “But surely, Master Windu,” Obi-Wan had said, “you, with the power of Vaapad-or Yoda’s mastery of Ataro-” Mace Windu had almost smiled. “I created Vaapad to answer my weakness: it channels my own darkness into a weapon of the” “light. Master Yoda’s Ataro is also an answer to weakness: the limitations of reach and mobility imposed by his stature and his age. But for you? What weakness does Soresu answer?” Blinking, Obi-Wan had been forced to admit he’d never actually thought of it that way. “That is so like you, Master Kenobi,” the Korun Master had said, shaking his head. “I am called a great swordsman because I invented a lethal style; but who is greater, the creator of a killing form-or the master of the classic form?” “I’m very flattered that you would consider me a master, but really-” “Not a master. The master,” Mace had said. “Be who you are, and Grievous will never defeat you.
Fuck. That makes this all so depressing. THAT would make for a great Kenobi show. I only watch these recaps and even second hand I'm dying from the cringe.
This is all very beautiful characterization of Mace and Kenobi but Grievous absolutely did end up beating him in saber combat. Sooooo that’s a little awkward. Still very, very cool tho.
You know: Force persuasion = no little girl noises Force persuasion = no flat bed driver issues Force persuasion = no storm trooper issues Also: Vader force choke = no kenobi running around issues (yes he did eventually use it but he should've used it the second kenobi bolted) But then again if you can have hardcore killers stopped by two pieces of linen I guess it's too much to expect any of the above...
Don't even say mind trick. How old was Anakin when he became Obi-Wan's padawan? 10-ish? You'd think Obi-Wan would have learned how to discipline and talk to a child
@@neocomp92 Not really. Jedi didn't raise children, they molded future Jedi. And it's not like he had enough outside-Jedi relationships to learn the skill from anyone else.
@@troffle Doesn't make sense considering how rebellious Anakin was. And most people learn parenting from their parents. Obi-Wan would have mimicked some of the lessons he learned from Qui-Gon. I'm not expecting deep father-daughter bonds, but at least control her from running off on her own

i think its general mental health education of people is rather low and not really understanding PTSD on a person. PTSD can make any "badass" person into crying terrified child. We have lots of evidences with veterans coming from warzones. its kinda sad to see people be angry about something totally legit. :(
@@goldenshark7546 ok so why is Kenobi legit badass like 8 years ago again when he kills Maul in eight years Still Obi-Wan develompent is quite roll coaster in this 19 years. In Episode III he kills Grievous and defeats young Anakin Then gets rusty to the point Vader fuckings him in the arse. And then 10 years later he is able to fight same Vader on the equal grounds and one-shot Darth Maul? I dont really know what should I think about this. I am really interested how they "REALISTICALY" turn Obi Wan into badass again. And thats the thing they are using mental ilnesses as plot devices
I know what you meant, but I'm not sure whether the coming Conventions for Writers (and the bastard executives who hire them) should be coming out of Geneva or Genosha.
@@goldenshark7546 So the thing is: I'd agree with that for any ordinary man. PTSD is absolutely brutal. But we don't talk about an ordinary man. We talk about a Jedi (Grand)Master. They are trained from very young age to resist the darkest influences, they steel their minds & I bet that they are teached on how they deal with such situations. I can absolutely see that a ordinary Jedi Knight might not be able to deal with all of this, but you can't tell me that the elite of the elite of Jedi is not able too. Especially with the previous characterisation of Kenobi. Especially with his goal, which is to defend Luke.
@@lastbaumstanding1802 Disney's terrible writing generates a significant amount of evidence that suggests Kenobi is not even a Jedi anymore. There's melancholy in their eyes and contemplation but that doesn't make them a sack of potatoes! It's an insult to people with PTSD to be put in the same sentence as Jake Kenobi the impotent fool.
She brings so much to the franchise?? Does Ewan have access to a different version of this series than the rest of us?? Reva brings nothing but uselessness and annoyance that we have to waste time on such a one note character. The rebel was able to hold off Vader and the troopers by exploiting Vader's only weakness: the high ground. Ha!
It was clear Ewan was told by Disney to make a video about this and I doubt he’d ever share a video about what happened with reva on his own free will, he’s just saying some pr shit that deep down he knows isn’t true
What makes you think Vader was "held off"? Are we even watching the same series? He can easily end Obi-Wan there and then, but he doesn't care. He's like Maul, he wants Kenobi to live and suffer for as long as possible. To be on the run, to hide, to be haunted by nightmares. It's pretty obvious that to Vader the whole endeavour is more like playing with his food rather than a serious hunt. In regards to Reva, I don't really resonate with her in any way so far, but crossing out a character before they even get a chance to show what they're about is pretty weird. Maybe I'll like her by the end, maybe not. Doesn't mean I have to be an asshole about it.
@@temporaryvideos364 crossing off a character before they've had a chance to show what they're about? We're halfway through the series. If they haven't shown what Reva is about yet then that is just bad writing and poor direction. As for the one rebel holding off Vader and the troopers, apparently we are watching different shows. The episode I watched had a lone sniper not only stopping Vader from killing Obi-Wan but prevented the troopers from taking him. All while Vader conveniently forgets to use the Force for a moment to immediately locate and kill the sniper. And how exactly am I being a ahole for calling out a problem with a character?
@@donxavier10 Right, because never before in Star Wars have we had minor/two-dimensional/disliked characters who grew over time and became fan-favourites. *cough* Darth Maul, Boba Fett, Mace Windu, Ahsoka, even Hayden Christensen's Anakin *cough* Don't be dumb. It's obvious from how her character seems disturbed by Vader's actions, from how obssessed she is with advancing through the ranks, from how she's treated as something lesser by other Inquisitors and - most of all - from how she knows Vader's true identity, that there's a deeper reveal and motivation planned for her. Seeing how the show happens around the same time as sequel to Jedi Fallen Order, and Cal Kestis/Cere have some very personal experiences with Inquisitors and their circumstances, it's possible she may even be related to the future plot of that game. But in order to come up with those ideas you'd first have to get rid of this weird prejudice towards a character we literally know almost nothing about yet. Once again, Vader ~doesn't~ want to kill Obi-Wan, he literally said so in that very scene ("Your suffering has just began"). His suit is highly fire-resistant, he can use the Force to jump over the fire, or to effortlessly pull both Obi-Wan and the droid towards him (as he did five seconds earlier), or to simply continue chasing them as he had no problem doing it since he came to the planet. Yet for some reason he doesn't even order the stormtroopers to follow them, he specifically tells the Inquisitors to stand down and do nothing. You're trying to pinpoint it as the show's weakness, while missing the most obvious answer as to why Vader did what he did being shoved right into your face. Calling out a problem doesn't make you an asshole, in fact I'll be the first one to complain if the show ends and we don't get a satisfying conclusion to those arcs. However, making premature negative judgements and refusing to even give certain characters/plot points a chance is generally a pretty inconsiderate thing to do.
@@temporaryvideos364 Is your argument really that it's alright to like a character right away but in order to dislike a character we must wait years?? Simply because, at some point possibly long down the road, some writer might do something good with them? If so then that's ridiculous! Darth Maul and Bobba Fett are not good examples as they were liked from the very beginning. Don't know a single person that likes Anakin. I don't believe that has changed. Yes, let's talk about that wildly inconsistent moment with Reva in episode 3, shall we? Because we all know where that is leading. In episode one she had no problem lopping off an innocent man's hands and attempting to kill Owen and his family - only stopped by the other Inquisitors - yet Vader snapping someone's neck makes her all squeamish?? Hahahaaaa...whatever! The Inquisitors exist to help the Empire hunt down and destroy Jedi. It's not a stretch to say she's seen loads of such acts in her time but because the show will need her to be redeem by its end now we're supposed to believe there is some good in her? So they're just aping Vader's redemption arc? *"But in order to come up with those ideas you'd have to get rid of this weird prejudice towards a character we know almost nothing about yet."* This is her introductory series and we're half way through it. If we know nothing about her yet - we actually do know a lot about her as you can see everything that has/is going to happen - then that is on the writers of this show, not its critics. What they have intentionally shown us of Reva is just a one dimensional villain. It's not a weird prejudice to dislike a character that is poorly acted and poorly written. *"Making premature negative judgements and refusing to even give certain characters/plot points a chance is generally an inconsiderate thing to do..."* Not a premature judgement at all as it is judgement based on presented data and where this series is telling you that it's going to go.
I just found your channel and agree with all your hilarious comments and put-downs. You are pure magic in exhasperated furious about the idiocy of this show. I can't wait until you start reviewing 'Andor'....all 24 boring drawn-out episodes. No Jedi. No lightsabers. No force.....whoop-di-doo!!
To answer the question what force power Vader is using to teleport, it's the long lost art of Force Fedex, the same power Rey and Kylo use to teleport items through the universe. Vader just Force Fedex himself to where he needs to go.
Ah yes, I believe i have heard of this ancient art. According to legend it fell out of use because men feared to use it. It's rough on the 'package' you know 🤣
The 3rd sister storyline defies logic. She just kills the Grand Inquisitor with literally no struggle, all the other Inquisitors seem cool except her. She walks around defying everyone without repercussions, just so lame its beyond description.
They don't understand sith because they would be killed within seconds if they were a sith themselves. Sith applaud the backstab to get higher rank but you have to do it right and follow the rules. The rules being you don't insult people willy billy unless your a big big honcho and you smile sweetly and kill them person not fucking announce your intentions. Fucking idiots.
It's times like this that I remember the writers are building toward Leias ultimately useless death and 8 second funeral under a dirty sheet with a voice over by an anus-eyed monster.
Vader just killing random people to be evil for evils sake is such a fundamental misunderstanding of the character. That's why I'm done and thats why they pushed the narrative that criticism is soley about Reva. They butchered the important parts people care about. Reva isn't one of them.
@@robwett1 But not setup or execution. Because it didn't work. In the end he just senses kenobi or something, making it all an unconnected scene that only exists for the audience to show bad man iz am bad. Even if it worked, it's too inelegant for canon Vader. Single layered. Crude. Ineffective. They butchered him in this scene. Up 'til now Disney knew how to handle Vader. The inquisitor comics are ok, the solo vader comics are ok-kinda great. This ain't even that very low bar.
this. so much this. In the LAST episode the inquisitor could sense obi wan, but anakin skywalker, couldnt sense his old master a couple hundred feet away??? NONSENSE. He wouldnt have needed to kill anybody, he would of walked right by all those people straight to where obi wan was... Vader never just killed people for no reason, he killed them cuz they screwed up or challenged him. That mining community was a bunch of people serving the freaking empire. the Emperor, who vader serves, needs them to do their jobs and mine the vintrium, which they needed to power the turbolasers. Dead miners dont mine very good. None of the miners did anything to help kenobi, none of them were guilty of anything. Plus none of them was worthy of being killed by vader, they posed no threat, it would have been an insult to his power to even SUGGEST killing the miners. Vader wouldnt even have NOTICED the miners, he would of been so intent on tracking kenobi through the force. A better scene is you play a new variation of the imperial vader theme as he strides though the town with everybody on their knees with their heads down.
@@fraabru Obi wan had recently used the force at that point, which I think leaves a force trail that other users can detect. When vader was there, Obi wan was trying harder to hide his emotions.

At 14:50, reminded me of the toll booth scene in Blazing Saddles. It's not like that you couldn't bypass that "laser gate". Go about 2m on either side of the gate & you've gotten passed it. Edit: I wrote my comment before seeing an above shot of where the toll booth was. It's laughable
This series is pathetic. He can barely use the force or a light saber somehow. If they intended to destroy Kenobi it worked. He’s weak and every female character is brave and strong. This chick playing Reva is a terrible actress
When, as is inevitable, Reva turns out to be good, saves the day, and becomes the hero of the story, the Disney shills and sycophants will point to it being no different to the redemption of Vader. But the difference is, (other than the vast chasm in screen presence) nobody knew Vader was going to redeem himself until it happened on screen! Whereas we all knew Reva's role in being amazing, stunning, brave, and the ultimate saviour of the universe, before the airing of episode one! Knowing what's going to happen before a series has even started, is getting really boring!
The bigger difference is that Vaders redemption is the center piece of the entire franchise. By redeeming every dark side user you make it look like the dark side is hardly tempting at all. You cheapen Vader and Luke- which is of course by design and why all.Disney Star Wars Is trash.
@@mistersparkles1842 When you boil the original lucas films down to one main character it was always about Anakin/Vader. He's literally the main character lol
Okay all things considered....Darth Vader was perfect in this. First thing he does is get suited up make some death threats to his underlings comes back later kills some more people absolutely stomps obi wan and burns him alive with some CGI fire considering his flesh was unharmed but still
I don't think that Vader was redeemed, although people often say that. He killed many billions of people, and can anyone even detect a motive? In the prequels, we learn why: Palatine gave him some vague lie, which didn't even have any value or meaning to him. Plus he killed tons of other children just because someone told him to. He left his mother on Tatooine. Then, what, he blames the Sandpeople and killed them, and their children? Then he's always killing people face to face and blowing up planets. He was a sucker with zero intelligence, knowledge, reason, motive. But then he refrains from killing his own son, merely because some old corpse told him to, right after that same corpse told Luke to kill Vader. So really, he killed the Emperor only after the emperor encourage Luke to kill him. I'm not sure where any redemption enters into it. Star Wars was cool in the 80's, where at least we could imagine something made sense.
The way I pictured this series was Ewan playing the role like Sir Alec Guinness' portrayal of Obi Wan, sneaking around using the force like he did on the Death Star and only using his Lightsabre as a last resort. But this is turning into a broken war vet's adventures in babysitting. They should just call him Obi-Run in that encounter with a teleporting Vader. And regardless of being a Sith, Reva would have been executed for killing a superior officer. Seriously, this show is an utter mess and I don't believe KK was awarded a/George's CBE for this tripe!
Here's the thing though, George Lucas said that Vader always had this part inside him saying "What am I'm doing?" Reva on the other hand wasn't explored enough as a character to earn her redemption.
Well, after Episode 6, I just think Reva was very poorly written. After all, Joby Harold didn't know that Obi Wan knew that Anakin had became Darth Vader (from the security footage), maybe he should go back to writing Aliens rip-off Zombie movies and leave Science Fiction to people who know what they're actually doing.
And Obi Can-BlowMe doesn't just wave his hand and tell the storm troopers on the back of the pick-up truck that *_"We're not the people you're looking for"_* and then tell them to get off and wait for the next bus or something, because...? Oh, yeah - I forgot... this is Disney Star Wars.
When Reva is in the Inquisition Base and Second Brother is lashing at her about what she deserves, she says "I hope so". That line was the moment I knew this show was irredeemable. In Star Wars, Hope is the antithesis of the Dark Side teachings. So, for Reva to hope for anything turns this entire thing into a garbage fire.
Yeah.. The writers have done a poor af job tbh... Obi-wan should be the complete opposite of how they've written him.. And then when they hit us with an Inquisitor using the word "Hope" I was like "WHAT?" An Inquisitor would never use the word Hope in a positive manner... The only time I could see an Inquisitor using "Hope" in a sentence, is if they were saying something like "Hope will not save you"
I don't like this shitstorm of a show but you're just nitpicking now. In the OT Vader says "I hope so commander, for your sake". Maybe the context/tone is a bit different, still have to watch this ep. This show was irredeemable after the first two episodes, none of this matters anymore
Not seen any of the spoilers but the second she said that I immediately thought the empire killed her sister (or someone) and this was her way of infiltrating the Empire to tear it apart from the inside. It wasn't an evil 'I hope so' but a long con 'I will avenge my...' look - or just bad acting (I'm black so that's not a racist comment). The show also needs to fire its editors - I watch porn with better editing than this show.
McGregor gives so little of a sh*t about this he put zero effort into making this video, literally in the car probably on the way to buy some cigarettes.
they literally just gave Obi Wan the jake skywalker treatment, because that was so well received when Rian Johnson did it. S8 GoT tier writing - at least it's so incredibly bad it becomes amusing
Around 11 minutes into episode 3 Reva says "Send out the probes. DO IT! Now." That might be the worst line delivery I've ever heard. That lady can't act.

Droids have no object permanence. Unless they're staring at you, they don't know you even exist. Same thing with the Inquisitors. Unless they're staring at Vader, they don't remember their missions. Same with Obi-Wan. Unless he's staring at his Jedi lightsaber, he forgets he has one, let alone know how to use it. Same with Vader. Unless they're staring at a FINISHED WELL-WRITTEN script, they forgot to actually write it.
I think having Obi and Vader meet face to face was a terrible decision. They could have gone with them sensing each other and suspense filled moments of "will they meet?" but in the end Obi evades Vader. If done well it could have been great and not blurry canon so much. It feels like they took the easy way out and "jangled keys" for the audience. We could have learned so much about how they felt about each other without a face to face. This felt like lazy fan service.

I said it already and I'll say it again: As much as I disagree with alot Mark Hamill put out, at least he had the backbone to say that he disagreed with everything they did to Luke. I loved Ewan as Kenobi in the movies, he was great playing that character. But what he is part of in this show, seems to be ok with (since he never said anything to the contrary) and goes on to attack fans and hype up a totally illogical character that goes against so many things that were established is simplay not ok. The show created MANY issues with the canon of the first trilogy. And most of it comes down to characters that would not even meet Kenobi at this time, or could not exist in the way they are written here: mainly Leia und Reva. It does not make any sense And on a sidenote: The whole "car that is pro empire" doesn't really make sense. Aliens were not treated well by the empire. This alien has NO reason at all to be pro empire. Or the show expects me to believe that they met the one alien that isn't upset with the empire for misstreating them and instead is loving it. Masochist alien or what?
It was stupid to have Obi Wan Kenobi fight Darth Vader in this show. It was heavily implied that the 2 haven’t seen each other since Revenge of the Sith.
Vader: "We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you I was but the learner. Now, *I* am the master" This seems redundant now. Talk about continuity error!
Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and now Obi-Wan Kenobi being character assassinated... If I were a subscriber of conspiracy theories I would say Disney Star Wars has a problem with male characters. Big problem. But that can't be, can it now?
@@Trencher1375 yes, Finn... in Force Awakens he's the second main character, set up to play a big part in the whole trilogy. Following two movies made him an unfunny comic relief. Who woulda thunk it...

Being disconnected from the force is a crap concept excreted by ryan jhonson in the last jedi. It isnt a thing in the lucas trilogies. Disney hates male heroes, they will always show men as weak losers who need help from the far superior women.

They do understand that Obi-Wan not training because he was sad at the destructio of the Jedi completely overlooks the strength of character he displayed during the Clone Wars series when Duchess Satine was killed in front of him, the woman he loved and would leave the Order for, if that didn't break him, nothing would.
Also why would he need to train to maintain his ‘connection’? He’s a Jedi master not an apprentice. It doesn’t make sense. Palps didn’t lose his connection when he was playing politics all those years and not using his lightsaber. It’s BS, all done for the purpose of making those around him look more competent than he is
@@Knocksley THE WHOLE STORY OF OBI WAN BEING BROKEN AND WEAK IS WRONG... that never happened.. he went to tattoine to TRAIN.. to get wiser.. smarter.. to meditate... to protect luke... he is supposed to be in his fucking mental & physical PRIME around this time.. idk who this guy ewan is playing is.. but its NOT canon obi wan kenobi
This Obi Wan should be in a retirement home. Disney takes heros like him and Luke and change them to defeated old men. Some hero. Disrespectful to fans.
I've seen people say that the reason as to why Vader let Obi Wan be taken by that droid was because of "him wanting a challenge" or being "underwhelmed by that fight". In my opinion, Vader (who has been described by many from the show as being at his peak) wouldn't have let a little bit of fire get in the way of his goal. He's been murderously searching for Obi Wan for ten years, even if the fight was underwhelming to him, he wants to make that man suffer, as he did on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith. And if we are going to get technical, Vader's suit protects him from everything, so a fire would've done absolutely nothing. But I'll probably be called a racist or something for not liking the show now!
Yup. Vader’s hatred of Kenobi would not have allowed him to be taken for any reason. Dark Side is fueled by hatred not logic, patience and reason. Yes, you can make a devious plan, but in the heat of the moment, someone who is constantly giving into impulse and hatred isn’t going to care about the level of competition. Darth Vader isn’t a Saiyan. He doesn’t live for the fight. Exterminating Jedi-particularly Kenobi-is the goal. Vader letting Kenobi escape is done for the same reason Kenobi randomly surrenders to three troopers: very incompetent writers needing their plot point to happen. And don’t worry about being called a “racist”. It now means, “someone who uses logic, reason, and historical context to discern quality and validity”. That’s the only definition that makes sense considering how it’s been used as of late. So it’s a good thing!

Exactly. Not enough people are bringing this up. I think it’s entirely possible to make a miniseries, likely smaller than this miniseries that has an interesting plot for what obi wan does while I’m hiding protecting Luke.
How did Obi Wan not melt in that fire, dude was in it for a couple minutes.

So Obi Wan stays on Tattoine to look after Luke but doesn’t bother to keep his skills up just in case the Empire shows up one day…this Obi Wan can’t even protect himself.
He should have been plateauing in his Jedi competency

I blame Ewan for allowing himself to be complicit in this character assassination. He is a pretty good actor and was charming as Obi-Wan, but if you watch interviews with him from recent years you can see he became a huge SJW.
He became an sjw or you became a neckbeard weirdo?
He was probably always one. This isn't "his" character in the first place, I think.

He's an actor, it's paid work......before this Ewan was always brutally honest about the Prequels & even declaring he's not bothered about returning. Like most actors, money talks & also pays the bills 💯
I find it interesting that a man who trained his entire life with a light sabre is utterly useless with it after a ten year gap, but somehow has John Wick levels of competence with a blaster having never ever used one.
in the clone wars tv show, he uses one often, the creators of this show also directed the tv show
@@rosenekokitty fair enough. I never saw clone wars. But if he can use both it wouldn't explain why he's crap with a sabre and not a blaster.
I am pretty sure he is going to train up and then kick the shit out of Vader before the end of this... (at least I hope so)
I recall at least two times when Obi-Wan dismisses blasters as "primitive," yet he has no qualms about using them in Clone Wars or in this shitty show.

Obi wan has obviously lost his force speed power when running that he had in phantom menace, but Vader has gained Jason voorhees sith power of stalking his prey.
It’s obvious that kid Leia has inherited the force speed, she’s so fast and elusive! 🤦♂️
Obi wan also forgot how to mind control storm troopers.
Or forgot he already defeated Vader once..
It's the same reason why Dr Who became 'meh', no peril, the Dr now has endless regenerations so why bother watching?
It’s never the beginning or ending of a story that important; it’s always the journey - everything in between.
•
Keep in mind that in the EU, Obi-Wan was called to leave Tatooine once before in the _Kenobi_ novel. In that novel, he could commune with Qui-Gon; and Obi-Wan was given some assurances.
• Luke was still safe from Vader,
• Vader would never set foot on Tatooine again without awakening the parts of him that are still good, because the part of Vader’s persona that is still Anakin in merely “imprisoned,” not destroyed.
•
So Obi-Wan starting out virtually cut off from The Force, and his struggle to both retrieve, protect, and return Leia are a journey in itself. It’s the answer to how Obi-Wan regains most of his Force prowess along with added hope for the future, and the training he needs to ascend and become a Force Spirit when his time arrives.
it's enriching and recontextualizing a character we all know. what's so bad about that?
I thought the exact same thing, there is zero tension in any of these scenes where Obi Wan & Leia are in "danger", we all know they won't die.
This show is broken.
Not only that, but how is he meant to safeguard Luke if he has become so inept at using both his lightsaber and the force. I mean both he and the galaxy are completely screwed if someone like Vader or Maul shows up on Tatooine, and he has to defend Luke.
Show is broken... will go straight in the bin right next to Boba and the Sequels
Michael Peck Right, I can’t stop thinking about that! What a dumb show.
Not only that. How is he supposed to protect him, when he can't really fight? xD
It's like the writers played too much Pokemon and think one weed is enough to impede someone's travel!
haha I was thinking the same thing!!
You dont understand! Vader's powers were on cooldown.

Exactly, even Yoda who was old as heck could still wreck shit using the Force, make it make sense 💀
Watching this milk-toast version of Obi… I mean Ben… compelled me to look up My favorite passage from Revenge of Sith novel describing Kenobi’s style in context of personality and use of the force…
There is an understated elegance in Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber technique, one that is quite unlike the feel one might get from the other great swordsbeings of the Jedi Order.
“He must have been trained by Count Dooku,” Mace had said, “so you can expect Makashi as well; given the number of Jedi he has fought and slain, you must expect”
“that he can attack in any style, or all of them. In fact, Obi-Wan, I believe that of all living Jedi, you have the best chance to defeat him.”
This pronouncement had startled Obi-Wan, and he had protested.
“But surely, Master Windu,” Obi-Wan had said, “you, with the power of Vaapad-or Yoda’s mastery of Ataro-”
Mace Windu had almost smiled. “I created Vaapad to answer my weakness: it channels my own darkness into a weapon of the” “light. Master Yoda’s Ataro is also an answer to weakness: the limitations of reach and mobility imposed by his stature and his age. But for you? What weakness does Soresu answer?”
Blinking, Obi-Wan had been forced to admit he’d never actually thought of it that way.
“That is so like you, Master Kenobi,” the Korun Master had said, shaking his head. “I am called a great swordsman because I invented a lethal style; but who is greater, the creator of a killing form-or the master of the classic form?”
“I’m very flattered that you would consider me a master, but really-”
“Not a master. The master,” Mace had said. “Be who you are, and Grievous will never defeat you.
milk....toast.
It's fucking milquetoast, you fool.
Beautiful
Wouldn't exactly call Yoda a whirlwind of destruction. His saber duel made him sound constipated as lept here and there.
“Just think. Those writers go through their life as one of those Storm Troopers. If that doesn’t scare you, nothing will.” 😂😂😂
You know:
Force persuasion = no little girl noises
Force persuasion = no flat bed driver issues
Force persuasion = no storm trooper issues
Also:
Vader force choke = no kenobi running around issues (yes he did eventually use it but he should've used it the second kenobi bolted)
But then again if you can have hardcore killers stopped by two pieces of linen I guess it's too much to expect any of the above...
Force persuasion only works on the weak minded and Leia isn't weak minded.

@@goldenshark7546 ok so why is Kenobi legit badass like 8 years ago again when he kills Maul in eight years
Still Obi-Wan develompent is quite roll coaster in this 19 years.
In Episode III he kills Grievous and defeats young Anakin

And then 10 years later he is able to fight same Vader on the equal grounds and one-shot Darth Maul?
I dont really know what should I think about this.

This reminds me of what they done to picard reducing him to a useless shadow of himself
*cough* Darth Maul, Boba Fett, Mace Windu, Ahsoka, even Hayden Christensen's Anakin *cough*
Don't be dumb.
*"But in order to come up with those ideas you'd have to get rid of this weird prejudice towards a character we know almost nothing about yet."*
This is her introductory series and we're half way through it.
*"Making premature negative judgements and refusing to even give certain characters/plot points a chance is generally an inconsiderate thing to do..."*
Not a premature judgement at all as it is judgement based on presented data and where this series is telling you that it's going to go.

Vader just killing random people to be evil for evils sake is such a fundamental misunderstanding of the character. That's why I'm done and thats why they pushed the narrative that criticism is soley about Reva. They butchered the important parts people care about. Reva isn't one of them.
He was doing that to flush Kenobi out. There was method behind it.

This series is pathetic. He can barely use the force or a light saber somehow. If they intended to destroy Kenobi it worked. He’s weak and every female character is brave and strong. This chick playing Reva is a terrible actress
She’ll be a good guy by the end of the series. All baddies are good these days
@@mercharris5266 well, you know that lol. She’ll be the big hero.

She blamed Obi-wan for killing the GI, Vader just cut her off while she was doing it.
Yeah, I can see that now.
But Still, the Inquisitor's are supposed to be like the Gestapo, but in this series they act more like Imperial Gangsters.
"If I wanted to put up with annoying kids, I'd have them!" Haha, I hear you. Between Kwan and mini Leia, there are too many brats in my scifi!
We know how Obi-Wan explained the Force to Luke in A New Hope. He would explain it to Leia the same way.
Poor Obi Wan.
Burnt alive on sand....SAND!
It's so coarse and rough,
and it gets everywhere
When Reva is in the Inquisition Base and Second Brother is lashing at her about what she deserves, she says "I hope so". That line was the moment I knew this show was irredeemable. In Star Wars, Hope is the antithesis of the Dark Side teachings. So, for Reva to hope for anything turns this entire thing into a garbage fire.
Yeah..
The writers have done a poor af job tbh...
Obi-wan should be the complete opposite of how they've written him..
And then when they hit us with an Inquisitor using the word "Hope" I was like "WHAT?"
An Inquisitor would never use the word Hope in a positive manner...
The only time I could see an Inquisitor using "Hope" in a sentence, is if they were saying something like "Hope will not save you"
It's Disney's doing the sassy black woman trope. You know, how Disney wants to smash stereotypes and all.

This Obi Wan should be in a retirement home. Disney takes heros like him and Luke and change them to defeated old men. Some hero. Disrespectful to fans.

Disney Kenobi is piss taking fan fiction.
I've been waiting for this!
This dude knows whats up. Excellent analysis!!
I've seen people say that the reason as to why Vader let Obi Wan be taken by that droid was because of "him wanting a challenge" or being "underwhelmed by that fight". In my opinion, Vader (who has been described by many from the show as being at his peak) wouldn't have let a little bit of fire
get in the way of his goal. He's been murderously searching for Obi Wan for ten years, even if the fight was underwhelming to him, he wants to make that man suffer, as he did on Mustafar in Revenge of the
Sith.
