I'm glad that I found this video. LOL 9 years later.
We're doing spring cleaning right now and I came across this old Motorola tablet.
Turns out, the same as in this video.
I had just wanted to see how to take it apart without screwing it all up.
So easy!
Obviously, in 2024, this thing is useless... BUT... I like the case and I want to strip this down to used it for a project. Hopefully, one of my larger Nextion displays will fit it. If not a few smaller ones to make a fun project.
Thanks to you, I managed to fix the charging port on my motorola xoom and saved around $80. Thanks for the video
Same
Yes. The charging port/ac adapter on this was notoriously bad, gg Motorola, thanks for this video bro. You a legend.
Hey there. Great video. Had a similar problem, modified fix. The power cable was barely good and had to be bent a certain way to get it to charge. Took out the cjarging port as you suggested. But instead of replacing it I pulled out the pin that goes inside of the charging port itself used straight edge and pride out the connector. So now there was some spring again on the connector. Put everything back together plugged in a new cord from Amazon and it worked perfectly. Thanks again and appreciate your hard work.
Man, your video is sooo useful... just one remark: before buying a new jack, first carve a little bit the copper connectors. I check mine and it didn't look burned. Maybe it just needed a cleanup.
Thanks for your help!
Very helpful tutorial. Gonna try and replace my charging port swell once I receive the parts. Thank you
Nice video and explanation on the job 👍
Congratulations on the video explaining the Charging dc port for motorola xoom mz600.
But I wonder if you can run the motorola xoom mz601 that charges until the light goes from white to green but the tablet does not turn on.
Do not turn on or hard reset.
Thank you mooneyb123 I just got done putting mine back together and it works. Thanks for the clear instructions. I took a voltage reading of the old plug terminals when i got it out and there was 12 volts but i noticed the prongs were really compressed all the way down where on the new one they sat up at about a 45 degree angle. I bet if I knew that at first I would not have had to buy a new one. Of course in some situations the port might actually be bad.
Thanks for the video! My tablet works great after this fix.
Thank you, the video was spot on and saved my xoom!
Perfect resolution. Thanks!
Thumbs up bro! You saved my life :-) Thanks!

This video is fantastic. I have a problem with my Xoom wifi. I have tried to install a Cyanogen rom and since the tablet won't start. The screen is black and the charger doesn't seem to work. Any idea ? Can I do a hardware reset?
