Dude, hands down the best video on here about removing this style forks on these bikes. So many questions out there and so many answers. You dumbed it down and made it impossible to mess up. Thank you a ton man
Excellent DYII I’ve seen in a long time. I’m just about to do maintenance on my front forks, and this video helps me feel confident I can do it myself. It's the most excellent DYII I’ve seen in a long time. I’m just about to do maintenance on my front forks, and this video helps me feel confident I can do it myself. Thank you again for putting this together.
90% of my subs are mechanical vids. And I love how you go into details about how things work. I have seen several videos about those wire connectors, but never that detailed of how to use them.
I just watched my first video, from you, and man your videos are so informative, I have been riding, and wrenching on Harleys over 30" year's and even I don't know everything, anyway man keep up the good work,
Thanks for stopping in! I try and cover as much as possible, I do leave some details out but that's why I recommend the manuals for whatever you're working on. Glad to help!
I just wanted to say thank you for not only showing how to change the suspension but educating us and going that extra mile on how to do things in the correct way and how to spend a little extra time to make it last longer and easier up keep later on down the road...I so want to do my street glide front end now. Thanks again for your help and time
I want to thank you for the time and effort you took to make this video! This was the most detailed, informative video on you tube, and was able to answer the questions I had on rebuilding the forks!
Hello, Your attention to detail and your work ethics are refreshing to see in this day and age. I only wish you were near me so I could bring my bike to you.
@@LateNiteVTwin Australia is quite warm most of the year so we ride all year round, trading my ride for the 2021 Softail Street Bob 114 soon, would love for you to do some M8 videos. Talk about the issues, although I think most have been sorted except for dumping misty oil back in. Catch Can might be my first upgrade. Cheers Steve
You make the rest of us feel good doing this as a career and full passion. Remind me of my instructors and DOC Harley from Low country HD. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
Great videos. You’ve got great knowledge and skills, obviously, and your presentation is very good. Yours are the videos I’d use when doing stuff myself. Happy to have found your channel! Looking forward to more. Thanks
Is any one else a little attracted to this guy? I feel like I’m listening to myself teaching myself from a point in the future where I know everything and am still doing all things correct and precise! I trust this guy with my unborn baby!
A pleasure to watch your videos, you have thorough explanation and fallow the same belief as I do. You get what you pay for. I'm a firm believer in that. In the past I've had shops swap and steal parts and I've called them out( it got ugly once) people don't like when Big Larry calls them out. Even a friend of my ex girlfriend did some shoddy work, that's why I work on my own cars, bikes, and home now... Keep up the good work brother. I know there are some honest people out there and you seem like one of them.
Love the attention to detail, level of quality of the chosen components and detailed explanations. The video quality is really good as well. It’s obvious you are a skilled craftsman. Perfect…, thank you very much.
I know that genuinely good content takes time to create, but I've come to really appreciate your "how-to's". So, chop chop man. It's gonna take a lot of videos to cover all of my bikes... You'd think that someone that owns 3 Harleys would be better at working on them, but I just make them look pretty for a living.
@@LateNiteVTwin I'm in the same boat with an 89 FXR, 1996 WG and a 1999 Ultra with a SE CV44. I need a relay in the FXR and a new starter... Over my skill level Late Night V-Twin
I have a 93 EG that's not really an touring bike anymore. I've got an 06' sporty, that is by far, not a sporty anymore. And an 09 EG that is stripped down to a performance oriented street glide, sans some quick detach accessories.
@@LateNiteVTwin I'd be down to trade straight across though! Never had a pan. Traded an fxr for a super glide a few years back (when you could still find a reliable fxr for under 5grand).

Thank you! actually bi-passed your video because of the bags on the pic. glad I went back and watched! only Video I've seen showing Softail and the fork tube seals...
That crimp tool is sweet. I solder and use shrink wrap after I cut out the excess wire but the OEM type connectors just look better. That's a professional looking job. Great video.
Thank you for the comments, I am much like you as I solder and shrink wrap as well but in a possible situation like the lights having to be removed from the bike for service, I wanted to share. Glad you liked it!

A very good video, well done! I like how you take the time to explain each step and how you go over the tools that you are using. BTW, you call the Motion Pro socket at 5:12 a Twin Power socket??

i really think you're one of the best youtubers out there. your subs should be higher. what do you think of dip stick breathers like fuelings for M8s. how would i know if i'm building up too must crankcase pressure? thanks
Steve, first off, thank you for the positive comments! I believe in the Fueling dip sticks. I have one on my big bore twin cam! The M8 suffers from proper venting and it truly helps! The easiest way to tell if your crankcase psi is to high, look at the air cleaner bottom. Look for oil dribbling or a high oil content on the filter. That's how Harley vents the case. Bigger bore engines are susceptible to this, especially if you ride long distance and higher sustained speeds......
Excellent video - thank you! Regarding your Jims fork tube holder, I see that you modified it to install that pivot bolt/vice mount. Do you have any detailed photos of the modification you made?
I have had a few questions about the connectors I installed, and one was "why did I install them right next to the other butt connectors?? Well, the connector was only one of the turn signals. The other side, and head lamp wasn't shot in the video! Sorry I didn't state that!
Great video, I'm doing this on my 01 Electra Glide, progressive gave me only one cup in the kit for the bottom, is it only for the right side? Haven't tore into it yet!! Thx Bro, you explain everything top notch & no B. S. very cool!!
