As a 16 year old American , I got the benefit of going to the FA cup final in 1979 at the old Wembley stadium. It was Manchester United versus Arsenal just being in that stadium with those two groups of supporters was epic.
If someone asks you to sign a jersey that isn't yours, I would be ABSOLUTELY thrilled to get say, a Christiano Ronaldo jersey that was signed with a fake CR7 signature and then "As signed by Peter Crouch" or Sids. That would be amazing.
You don't hear the league complaining about not having replays, because they're busy having organizing a 5th different international club cup to try and rake in bigger buckets of cash. You can't have the replays back if you can't thin out the match density. It's just not possible.
Not a fan of replays or extra time. My idea is that, if the bigger club are drawn away, they can send a letter to the smaller club asking if they would like to change. So then the smaller club have the day out, they get more money. Then, get rid of extra time. Go straight to pens. More drama, more fun. Less minutes and less injuries.
Nah you can't do that, would just defeat the whole object of the FA cup draw. I would just have replays till the 5th round that none after that. Agree with scrapping extra time though!
Their is a massive difference in any balls used in sport, in Table Tennis I used to play the main pro events and the difference is incredible, but like they said, it’s no excuse you practice with that ball leading upto the game.
Pompey fan so no skin in the game but United had 3 offside calls (all on side but incorrectly flagged off) one with Diallo literally in on goal. I’m not a fan of VAR but I would like it used for offside only. Also not to mention the Arsenal penalty in the same game which was not a penalty. So actually maybe getting the correct decisions every time might be a good idea? Still not a VAR fan though 😂
Instead of the replays why don’t they just up the match day money for these kind of cup ties. Get rid of extra time, straight to pens. Would stop the big teams from bringing on the big players in extra time
The professional autograph hunters are horrible people, I worked in the book trade for years and talk about entitled people who throw their toys out the pram when they don't get what they want. At book signings publishers and authors started putting in rules, like you could only get one book signed and it had to be deadicated to someone
As if people didn’t already forget and dismiss both major domestic cups, they’ve found ways to make them even less entertaining and created a monopoly on these trophies for first division clubs. I understand replays put strain on squads, but they’ve taken away the rights of clubs like Tamworth from taking Spurs to their town as a tradeoff. Thanks boys
It’s supposed to be a competition where all clubs are treated equally, drawn and forced to battle on that pitch regardless of their position. A draw meant a replay (there used to be infinite replays) and that was a huge part of its magic. Penalties should be the very last resort, remember that they are a relatively new development and only exist as the “least worst” option for a tiebreaker. The idea that a big club could get humbled by an underdog is beautiful and I think most people agree with me. We need to keep football attractive, a little bit of glory at a small club will go a long way. Moments like that mean so much more to those fans than any victory for fans of the giants.
Replays make it easier for bigger clubs though, so I don’t see your point. If anything, do away with extra time as well and then it means the underdog has a chance for an upset on penalties, rather than eventually losing in ET like Tamworth did, or getting battered in a replay.
‘Bournemouth go under the radar’ - so much so that you didn’t even mention the mess they’re in with injuries. They’re putting academy players on the bench! I don’t like the attitude of many pundits that revolves around keeping the same boring names in the premier league. Let’s hope Everton go down and Ipswich stay up - just to change things a bit. It’s so dull to have ‘the big 4’ every damn year. That’s why the Championship is a better league to watch every week.
Fans and lower league clubs deserve the replays and a trip to a big stadium. If you had a vote I'm almost certain most fans would have that day out than go on to the next round. Fans deserve better.
I feel like I've just invented the wheel with this thought. When teams are drawn in the cup, the lower league team should be the mandatory home team. If 2 teams are drawn from the same league then whoever was drawn first is the home team. This way the lower league teams home advantage has the potential for the giant killing story we all love
My idea was similar, but it was to give whoever is lower in the pyramid at the time of the draw, gets to choose if they have the home advantage, or play away and potentially higher gate receipts
Most lower league clubs would rather play at the bigger stadium. Think Acrington Stanley playing at Anfield. Once in a lifetime opportunity to play at a great stadium.
maybe if these big teams sacked off the post season tours to please their overseas 'fans' for a few quid might be a good idea. Pure greed and pointless.
replays should matter, is this another thing voted in by the septic6, they start in the 3rd round of carabou cup, no cup replays in case 1 of them happens to get a draw meaning more games, must protect the big6 from playing too many games it is absolute bollox, these teams have a bench full of internationals so can rotate when it suits them
Replays should be still in the FA cup. If Premier league teams are so worried about playing replays, put a proper team out rather than trying to cruise past the opposition
Football is a joke now. All traditions gone, 4/5 subs, VAR, new world club cup and champions league format i.e World/Euro super league through the back door. All because fans are too stupid to boycott games.
Thanks for the shout out Starky, top lad 🙌🏾
Chris getting Jamie Oliver's autograph on a cook book is very ....him
He’s a wet flannel

Anyone else getting distracted by the reflection of the green light on bonfires head lol looks like fireworks night
As an AFC Wimbledon fan, we absolutely MUST bring replays back. Its essential to the football pyramid

Just give the smaller club the majority of the takings and make it go straight to pens instead of extra time.
No replays, straight to pens. Give the team a chance to actually progress. Lower league clubs shouldn’t be hoping for a lottery win

Class poddy! Bring back replays!

Good job arsenal didn't score the pen so it's irrelevant
Niegella Lawson is shite chef, delia smith would ruin her. And Oliver and d’campo is no more than Norwich vs Ipswich
Reply’s up to the Quarter finals then have extra time and pens. Gives the smaller clubs a chance to earn a few quid extra before scrapping them.

People make fun of the every cup in this country 24/7 but want to cry when the lower teams get affected by it😂
