      Lot of rewriting history when it is all documented. Both Cole & the club were to blame.
      Arsenal had no money after building the Emirates. They were cutting corners with Wenger covering for them. .Wenger wanted to pay Cole but board pulled carpet away.
      Cole unwise to publicly talk of almost crashing his car when offered 'only £60k per week, good money 20 years ago. Especially to fans earning a fraction of that. Gave impression he was tone deaf.
      Cole & his agent were foolish to publicly meet Mourinho in hotel foyer, while still contracted to Arsenal.
      Neither side came out looking good. But it's done.

      In your dreams is he lol Irwin not only won more trophies he could actually use both feet score & assist with both feet, good defender and even Evra you could tell was better as they were the same age and Evra had a way better career and better individual performance even in such games like ChampionsLeague 2008 final compared to Cole, he got in more team of the year's than Cole in the time he was at the PL(and dominating it).
      Cole would've gone his last 10 PL seasons in a row without a single PL title for Arsenal/Chelsea 2004/05 to 2013/14 if the officials didn't give Chelsea 2009/10 because they didn't want same winner more than 3 times in a row pre-VAR they could stop it hence being allowed to have officials turn both ManUtd games into wins for Chelsea when they should've been losses, not to mention getting help against many other teams and even that wasn't enough they needed even more help and just to confirm how fixed it was StevenGerrard deliberate backpass to Drogba in Liverpool's last home game of the season vs Chelsea because it happened to be the first year ManUtd could overtake Liverpool on league title's.
      If ManUtd had half the help Chelsea got that season they break a PL points margin record.
      Evra got to more CL finals (even getting there with Monaco same year Cashley so called invincibles couldn't make it past Quarter-finals yet again). Evra continued to win when he & Cole left the PL for SeriaA at the same age. Why did Juventus want Evra not Cole?? Cole won nothing with Roma, he also won nothing with the most famous MLS team out there (Unlike Beckham) and Cole never got past Quarter-finals of a major tournament for England and Evra got to a final with not a very good France team at all. The list goes on...I'm sure Cashley scored less too, can't even talk about Cole being in a more defensive team because ManUtd with Evra broke defensive records that still stand today and Cole wasn't at Chelsea when they were getting defensive records.
      You're clearly anti-ManUtd & English to be in denial about the other players who simply were better....geez Cole was 0-5 down in a ChampionsLeague half for Roma which got him subbed off 😂 (finished 1-7).
      You're only embarrassing England by saying he was the best let alone the PL by saying he was the best in the PL.
      And you didn't even pick a smart man who can articulate like a normal adult and actually string a sentence together properly (then again that's the typical Arsenal fanbase). Plus his behaviour has been very questionable, then again that's a very Arsenal & Chelsea thing so he suited both clubs.
      Also good result 12 vs 10 in the FAcup 3rd round 😁

      I disagree. Fans are ruled by emotion. they get salty for no reason. Like the way they got salty about Van Persie leaving to win a big trophy. Or like salty at Fabregas for joining Chelsea yet Wenger had stated he didn’t need him coz he had Ozil. You can’t reason with fans. Best for a player to focus on what’s good for them. fans aren’t loyal. And neither are clubs. Look at Liv fans being angry at possibility of Trent going to Madrid. Yet it’s the club that delayed renewing his contract. I support players to make decision for their own benefit first.

    • @nungiceman
      @nungiceman 15 дней назад

      @cybertroy2 I do agree to a certain extent. Clubs are only loyal to players who perform. It is a business, after all. However, with Van Persie, he was always on the treatment table. Wenger not only extended his contract but even increased his wages. He only had one season, which he was healthy. The next he buggered off. He even said we'll come back and do better next seaon. Shouldn't make empty promises to begin with, and the crap about he had to listen to the little boy inside. He did it so openly to force a move. Arsenal and Wenger had no option to do anything. If he was being honest and just said, his career is coming towards the end, and it's his last chance to win anything major, we would've understood. Henry did. And none of us are salty. With Fabregas, he was the captain, and he refused to play to force his move to Barc. He was flirting with Barc on the pitch. We wouldn't have lost if he wasn't showing off and made a stupid back heel past in our own box. He was a great player, but he betrayed Wenger.

      @ashleydavis7448 14 дней назад +2

      Whatever happened that doesn't give the fans the right to disrespect players like that, if they want to move let them go yes he might of left for the money but still how many people leave their jobs for more money, being a footballer is not a long career

    • @cybertroy2
      @cybertroy2 14 дней назад

      @@nungiceman they saw a club that was going nowhere while they pay off the new stadium. We lost several players including Adebayor, Nasri, Flamini, Hleb and Sagna. All whom we weren’t ready to let go off yet when they left. All who won big trophies elsewhere while we are still here trying to get the first one since 2004. However they left or their reasons, they didn’t want to play for us no more. Of course Persie should say he’ll come back strong following season. Until the deal to join United is completed, that’s what he should say as he was still an Arsenal player at the time. Deals are not guaranteed until signed.

It was undoubtedly mismanaged but still, joining a local rival is a strict no-no. If you have no moral code I guess you would make that decision. A sound lad? He's a serial cheat. Cheated on his wife NUMEROUS times - which he admitted in the divorce proceedings. Cheated on his boyhood club - he was found guilty of talking to another club whilst in contract and fined by the FA. Sound lad? Really? Your moral code's a bit wonky.

    A lot of football casuals in the chat saying Roberto Carlos was better than Ashley Cole. Other than the occasional worldy Le Tournoi free kick or impossible angle goal, Carlos was in no way a better defender than Cole.

    As an Arsenal fan, it really hurt as the time, hate Ashley with a passion, but as the years have gone on I feel the club did him dirty and he had every right to do what he did! One thing that has never change is my opinion that he is the best LB to ever play in the premier league

    As a strong Arsenal fan myself and a proud born and bread East Londoner, this is one of the players i honestly dont blame for leaving us. He could of handled it better but it was the same reason Sol left Spurs for us. Our manager and owners started to detiorate and that was the fall of Arsenal. He represents how the club was at that time.
    You can never forget where you started and he was a East Londoner and grew up in Arsenal and played with better players in Arsenal and won more Titles at Arsenal, lets not forget that.

    I never held it against Ashley Cole for leaving. It was out in the press at the time that Arsenal did him dirty, it wasn't a secret. I understood he wanted to stay but the club put him in a predicament. It still hurt that he left for Chelsea of all teams, as their manager was constantly making noise about ours and he was massively irritating. Plus the fact that everybody knew with all the money they were spending, they were gonna win everything, every year. I actually think they underachieved under the circumstances. Ashley Cole only won 1 league title there after winning 2 at Arsenal including a double and an Invincibles season. But anyway, I think our fans were harsh on him. They should've took their frustration out on the club, not on Ashley

    After Arsenal taking Sol Campbell from Spurs for free, they got to taste their own medicine with Ashley Cole to Chelsea, then Adebayor to City, then Samir Nasri 👊👊👊 to City then even when Fabregas returned to England he chose Chelsea and the list goes on...
    Adebayor isn't even as big of a name as Sol Campbell or Ashley Cole but that celebration in Etihad is always worth the topic

  • @chrisrowe7503

    He’s actually pissed me off with his comments about David Dein.
    I have no doubt that Dein wanted to pay him what he offered but it was vetoed from the rest of the board on the advice of that buffoon Peter Hill-Wood.
    Ashley should remember, that in football, even shareholders and chairmen are forced to sign NDAs to stop them talking to the press and making details public.
    Wenger and Dein have both since hinted their hands were tied. Dein also got a lot of abuse over the saga.
    Yet I do agree with him on one thing. The club lost its identity bit by bit when Vieira left the club.
    Wenger didn’t begin signing English players again until around 2010. Walcott was the sole English player in our squad until Jack Wilshere came through the ranks.
    It took over 20 years for us to get an identity back. Sadly for Wenger, after he left.
    I actually believe Aaron Ramsey was treated worse than Ashley was.
    Our star player, got offered a contract then when he turned up to sign it, was actually told no, we’ve changed our minds and you’re going on a free at the end of the season.
