When you said the counselors were the most annoying aspect of community college I FELT that 😂 these videos have been super helpful and you guys are so enjoyable to watch! Keep it up !!
4:50 THIS!!! My current counselor in high school is horrible. Literally puts me down all the time, so the college and career lady helps me, and she told me in long beach community 80% of the honore program students go to ucla??!!! I believe she said it was LBC. But that was huge and useful info that my counselor would never tell me
just transferred from lbcc’s honors program to ucla, a lot of people i know are going to ucla and ucb, they have a lot of resources to help you get there!
I really want to get into a good school and I beat myself up when I get low grades too. I think the counseling don’t care about what I have to say because I’m more “driven” and it gets annoying
Everything you guys said about CC I totally felt.... I was required to make an “academic calendar” with a counselor and they put me on athletic probation until I did it. When I went into that meeting I knew more about transferring than my counselor did. He could not answer any of the questions I had. I was literally a freshman and being told to consider CSUs over UC because UC were so selective. Like huhhhh
So im confused about the obtaining the classes you want process. So you won't always get the classes you want, but what about pre reqs for your major? Like if you don't get those classes that's more classes you need to take until you can get the ones you need for your major??
Hi, I'm not exactly sure I understand your question but basically it can be difficult to get the classes you need, especially if you have an impacted major. If you are unable to get certain prereqs, you will not be able to take the classes that require those prereqs until you complete the prereqs.
Do you have any advice for people who want to transfer to UCLA from out of state? We don't have a pathway and frankly, not much information is given about how to get accepted as an out of state student
Best bet is to get in touch with an admissions counselor and work with them directly. Even then they do not review transcripts until after you are accepted, and it is unlikely that every single one of your courses will transfer over.
I'm in cc now, planning to transfer to UCLA this year. I'm stressed 😥 in my head, and my mf cc does not offer organic chemistry which is a requirement for the science major I really want to do😔. Now, I'm thinking it would be a waste of money to apply but I really want to go to UCLA. How do you guys do so many ecs and still get good grades? I really don't have ecs because tbh my courses will suffer once I loose focus. I tried my freshman year and I don't think multitasking like that is for me🤔
You could always check if the course is offered at another community college nearby. By ECs do you mean extra curricular activities? I actually have a video about this on my channel, you should check it out!
@@HaileyDollarGoesToCollege thank you for the advice! I'll have to stay an extra year if I enrolled in another cc🤔 but that might be my best bet for now.
please do more videos with them! i love all of your personalities and insight combined
you guys are so sweet 🥺 I’m transferring to ucla next semester, and your videos have made me feel so much better. Thank you!!!
Thanks for watching, Elise! Good luck and have fun at UCLA ☺

Hailey Dollar ooh okay. so some kids might take longer to complete their studies
Hailey Dollar and thank you so much for your videos and for responding you literally give me so much insight on everything
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching!
The counselors just kept wanting me to do IGETC and go to a CSU
I got a lot of resistance from the counselors about aiming as high as I did too. But you gotta do what's best for you
