    The only problem that scares me about applying to a UC is that I live in NY and the assist website doesn’t apply to us :(

    • @Vanessa-fp8db
      @Vanessa-fp8db 6 лет назад +1

      Tristan Filmz and it’s really difficult because OOS applicants are the last ones to be looked at in terms of applications

    • @hermeslover7
      @hermeslover7 6 лет назад +3

      Hi, Tristan! I'm Leah from the video who answered that question! If assist doesn't work for your school credits, take some time to go online and find the UCLA admissions department and they should be able to transfer you to the departments applicable to the classes you've taken so that you can see what will transfer and what won't! Usually, it's up to the individual departments to decide from what I know (e.g. the math department will determine which of the math classes you took could be applied for your math credit at UCLA). Hopefully that works!

      @@Vanessa-fp8db Hey, Vanessa! I'm Leah from the video! Even though some students may be the last to be looked at in terms of applicants, the UC system does (from what I know) accept more students than they plan on having, and from the admissions officers I've personally talked to as a transfer student, I learned that they are actually more selective with the first groups than the last groups!

      @@hermeslover7 Hi Leah! Thank you so much for replying, Im sorry for this late response (I didnt see it!) I was really interested in hearing that you were a statistics minor as this is also something I am hoping to integrate into my major as well. I am a political science major and I heard that it is a very compacted major, do you know if thats true and the same for Stats? I just saw the latest videos talking about the difficulties in getting your classes, are there such things as priority registration? I am interested in minoring in statistics because I felt confident taking this course at my college, but I'm interested to hear the perspective of someone who is actually attending and taking these classes at the university I am so hoping to attend. Thank you for any feedback you can provide, sorry for the long question!

    • @hermeslover7
      @hermeslover7 6 лет назад +1

      @@dianaalfaro7476 hey Diana! I think that having a minor in statistics is a great idea! It's especially great for well roundedness and the course for the minor is so easily do-able that even the major is only 2 years. The minor is probably half that workload! I did statistics for the same reason! I was confident from a class I took in community college and here, it's at the same level! They actually backtrack and make sure everything is clear from the beginning so most statistics minors have little to no trouble. The only thing is UCLA requires math through linear algebra so basically known as calc 1, 2 and 3 in the semester system. Be prepared! For polisci I have 1 friend who I reached out to and he said that the major as a transfer is definitely achievable and that the standard is only higher than in CCs in regards to the amount of busy work there is. Professors give a lot of work but the difficulty is the same! Hope I answered your questions! Please ask more if anything runs across your mind! I'll find people who can answer your questions if I can't!

    • @hermeslover7
      @hermeslover7 6 лет назад +1

      @@dianaalfaro7476 sorry! Priority registration! So it depends on if your major is impacted (I don't think polisci is) and also academic standing. Usually transfers also get priority because the school knows we're all at a press for time to complete our courses but it's only a slight priority by a day or so.. the people who get a huge priority are people who have registered and approved disabilities, and people who have certain scholarships through the school!

    Hii i just wanted to know if it was possible to transfer to UCLA as a freshman ( if I complete around33 credits my first year) in the arts and architecture department or not

    • @HaileyDollarGoesToCollege
      @HaileyDollarGoesToCollege  3 года назад

      Hi Sarah, the School of Arts and Architecture and the College of Letters and Science, do not have the same requirements for entry. Transfer applicants in the College are required to have completed 60 semester/90 quarter units by the time they matriculate in order to be eligible. I would be surprised if the same were not also true for the school of arts. To my knowledge, there are also additional requirements for the school. Your best bet would be to contact an admissions counselor in that school for further advice. Best of luck!

      Hi Adrian, I'm not really sure where you heard that, because as far as I am aware the UCs only accept transfer students with junior level class standing.

      I plan on transferring out to UCLA you need 60 units in order to transfer out which if you stay on track and keep up with your work can be done in 2 years.
