Hi mate, enjoying the channel im somewhat in a similar position to you at the moment.. try to keep 9-10 cars, sold 3 last week but its been strangely quiet for september. I don't expetct lots of sales with only 10 cars but enquiries seem distant as of now.. I have some Great price markers on AT too.. Just a waiting game but nonetheless i enjoy the channel. cheers.
@iampaulnorris yes very strange, seemed very keen on the car and travelled from an hour away to see it. Could have understood if she said it was scruffier than expected or didn't drive as well as expected but a/c not being cold enough was just baffling.
Great Dan, though sounds like the woman from the C-Max come back to buy the corsa! Best to loose the sale than deal with them afterwards. Onwards and upwards 😎
If that was me when she said about the air con that would have been it I would have said to her sorry but I'm not selling it to you and walked away Can you even imagine like me every squeak rattle sounds noisy she would be on you like lightning these are the customers you don't need This you will learn from experience and this one is a reminder well rid of her
@BleepDev sorry I probably didn't explain in the video, the Ibiza did have a fresh service & MOT when I bought it in April, but then it's sat around a while, I reduced it with the intention of selling it with existing MOT, but then decided to put another new MOT in it. I do generally put new MOT on. It gives me peace of mind
!12 months mot nice, Ford didnt give me 12 mounths on me Kuga But i did get free brand new rubber genuine ford mats front and rear Thats 8os style of getting a deal car mats and mud flaps !!!! Great video did you go part time . Some garages in Peterborough dont even put air in the tyres far from your standard Regards Mark
@philh3409 that's the one, that's what I was going to do. It was just a bit tricky as she came after 5 when the post office was shut so I was going to have to pay a little bit of money to do it online via a 3rd party. I could have applied for a new log book but don't want to put another keeper on.
@DanielGallivan-qt3fz I've learned that being in control of a sale without being controlling is important. I arrange dates and times for test drives and collections that don't ruin my personal life. If a customer is really interested, they'll adapt their schedule to fit yours. It's difficult to get your head around but if it's a habit you get into early, you'll find it gets really easy to keep doing it moving forward.
If you don’t mind me asking how much do you pay for the spaces? Do you have an office? If not how do you plate the paperwork? I’m new to the industry and I’m looking for a unit/spacing.
@Kapb19 the spaces are very reasonable compared to other options that are out there. I do have an option to put an office on there and to rent more spaces if I needed them, but ideally I want to be indoor. There is a cafe on site in the buildings behind me which I use to do paperwork. If that's busy/closed on a weekend I use a well known coffee shop 😉 but I would like some space to store paperwork and valeting stuff. Indoor is the next step for me.

@Smithstar1976 I did do an audi A3 once, and you're right, I did sell it the same day I picked it up from paint shop. And I could have sold it 3 times over. Didn't make a lot of money on it as it did need paint but it didn't give me any trouble. They just always scare me if they do have a problem. Not cheap fixes.
Ah, you did...apologies. Clearly there was something else that she didn't want to tell you about. Possibly that MOT advisory which someone uneducated about old cars probably scared her to death about. Ah well, on to the next buyer for what looks like a nice motor for the money.
@philh3409 yeah honestly I did, it's perfectly fine, it cooled the car down straight away but apparently it's not as cold as her mum's 😂 she said her mums is so cold it makes her hands hurt. What can you say to that 😂 the only other thing I can think is maybe she expected a bit of a fancier place with a showroom and a coffee machine but I'll get there 😉
@@DanielGallivan-qt3fzafter a good few years in the job I didnt give 'customers' like her the time of day, it would give me more satisfaction to tell them they are looking for a new car for 3-4k an they need to go to main dealer an look there.
@MrTimsvids I used to have them the other way, but then I turned them round to face the road. People don't really wander in, but it's on a bus route and I've noticed people looking more since I've turned them round to face the road.
@MrTimsvids I've also been considering parking them diagonally to each other but it's a bit clicky down there, I think someone will moan to the landlord.
Bit of a mixed bag there buddy, few of them hard sellers there. Watching other dealers blogs think you need the good selling cars around, cars that you don't really like but are good sellers. One thing I do agree on is the mini your using.... Hate them rust bucket look rubbish and are rubbish. Keep trying it's hard selling cars glad I'm not in it. Ten cars standing you need to get them moving. Good ish vlog well done.
@johnplatt8369 thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Appreciate the comments, thanks for watching, I'm down to 3 cars for sale now so next episode should be some new cars coming in.

You have dodged a bullet on the Corsa. You don’t want a customer like that!

yup part of the car sales skill is "Pick the customer" its a two way deal and some people are worthless headaches
Seat's are solid veichles can't knock them.
@@lorddarlo6194 yep, very impressed with that Altea. Very nice car

imo always put a fresh MOT on them, you never know whats happened between MOTs and you don't know what happened to get it through an MOT

@marknucita8284 thank you, amazing comment, really appreciate it 🙏 got to take on the big Boys somehow
Happy for you with the Seat sales. That Corsa will sell . Looks a good car. Better for the lanoguard treatment too.

If a car is "in trade", you can complete the V62 (that form in the boot), and tax it at a Post Office.

In my own experience just buy German products not them basic cars there will give you a headache and not enough margins best of luck
@Smithstar1976 cheers. You're first person I've heard say that but I'll keep it in mind 👍

If the air-con on the Corsa was fine, why didn't you demonstrate it to her? She couldn't complain if you could show it was "icy cold".
