    There was no catching Jamaica in the women's 4x100m as they stormed home to Olympic gold at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Jamaica took home their first Olympic women's 4x100m title in 17 years, taking gold in a national record time of 41.02 at the Olympic Stadium. The USA came away with silver in 41.45 and Great Britain took bronze in 41.88.
    The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games took place in Japan, from July 23, 2021 to August 8, 2021.

      It even seemed like it as you can tell the baton exchange was way too late. However, it would've been nice if they showed a replay of that first baton exchange from up top.

    Briana was beaming with pride, I love her emotions. Her game face in starting blocks tells us of what to come in the future, knowing how jovial she is normally. Her fierceness as an Athlete , reminds me of shelly.

    I never care who wins because I love athletics and was a short distance runner myself. It always makes me cry seeing how much passion, hardworking and love for the sport brought in these flying colours at the Olympics.

      @@Raimund6602 Yes. The baton pass is the only reason we didn't shatter the record. Also, if Shelly was on the anchor and Shericka was on the 3rd leg, we would've most definitely shattered the record regardless of that first pass between Brianna and Elaine.

    I am an ex-anchor sprinter , 220, 440 and 880 relay, during my school days! Hatefulness kept me from running in the biggest race during track season and I will never forget! Thank you ladies for this part of the Olympics that make my heart smile and my eye water! You all look so beautiful sprinting like a cheetah and gliding like a gazelle !     If the Coach Really wanted the World Record He would've make Shelly-ann start (Best Starts) ➡️ Brianna (Speedy) picks up the race ➡️ Ealaine (Best Bend) ➡️ Shericka (Endurance).

      I actually agree, because I outlined it the same on facebook days before the relay heats. Then I did say let Shelly anchored, because she’s more experienced with the anchor and she’s a 100 phenom. But ET was definitely needed on the 3 leg, with that curve ( bend). Brianna did an amazing job with that open leg.

      No, Shelly Ann is faster on the third leg because it's the longest leg and she basically wins the race for her team, if she leading into the final handover.

      @@brandonclarke7059 Agreed. Had I been putting it together, I’d have put a Jackson first, because Pryce’s fast 100m start isn’t relevant for a first leg start on a bend. You want proven winner who is mentally tough under pressure for the anchor, like Thompson or Fraser-Pryce. Thompson is arguably the stronger 200 m runner at this point so it makes sense to put her the 3rd leg on the curve and Pryce on the end, in my *very* humble ex-college sprinter opinion.

      Agreed. Seemed like he wanted to speak a Jamaican DQ into existence. American and British commentators rarely ever give Jamaica and smaller Caribbean countries their unequivocal props. And we heard here how that American clearly was hoping for a Jamaican DQ. Nothing new.

    Fun Fact: at least 8 of the 12 athletes on this podium are of Jamaican heritage. Of course the 4 Team Jamaica athletes Lol But also Gabby Thomas (USA) is of Jamaican heritage (via her father), Dina Asher-Smith (UK) via both parents, Daryll Neita (UK) via her parent and Asha Philip (UK) via her parent. All would have been eligible to run for Jamaica. I could be missing others too.

    Looking at that race again, Brianna ran a great first leg, Elaine took off too early thus extending the distance that she had to run as the longest of all the runners on the team, that shot their chance for the record but they still got the gold. Great job Brianna! Don't be discouraged by those trying to blame you. You have a great future ahead, hold your head high, we are still cheering you on.
