Jamaica has 15 of 40 finalists in the last 5 Olympics from 2004 to 2020. That is 3 finalists for each of these Olympics. They have had 2 medal sweep in 2008 and 2020, becoming the only country ever to sweep the medals in this even and they have done it not once but twice. They have won 11 of the 15 medals in this event since 2004, with USA 3 and Belarus 1. They have won the last 4 Olympic titles consisting of a total of 10 of the 12 available medals. This is total world hegemonic domination for well over a decade

It took us decades to get there. Been working on it since the 1970s. Knocked on the door during the 80s and 90s.

The men did a medal sweep as well in the 200m in 2012 (so they have 3 sweeps- not 2)

only Germany and Jamaica have done this at the Olympics I don’t remember what year Germany did it but Jamaica did it at the Olympics twice 2008 and 2021 so Jamaica and Germany is the only country to have swept the 100m at the Olympics no other nation have done this it’s rare being the modern Olympics have been around for 100+ years Jamaica is the only country to sweep the women 100m at a world championships 2022 so yes Jamaica the the only country to do sweep that many times and the only to do it at worlds

@@everythingtv2325 Germany has never swept the medals in the 100m. Jamaica is the first and only country to have done so

Everytime I watch this race I gather more respect for Elaine especially as I believe she is the most criticized Jamaican woman sprinter in the history of track and field.
