Mickey Gilley is incredible; his music is divine! ANDY WILLIAMS was there. OMG. Yes I cried at the end. I did finally see him and it was after the accident, but he was stronger than this, yet still in the chair. Great concert. I can't drive in winter, but I wish I could see him and JL in Branson. So fun to watch and hear him. Thanks
Just going back and watching this. But if you see newer video of him, he has continued to recover. So glad that in 2020, now at 84, it’s been almost 11 years since his accident and Mickey is still out there performing and still walking!
My wife and I just returned from vacation in Branson. We had to see Mickey Gilley Live. It was one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time and wont be my last.
Mickey you are the best, everyone that knows you loves you, respects you. I wish I had the opportunity to see you and or meet you you are the greatest. We love you, carry on with your strength and that beautiful voice of yours.

The incident left him temporarily paralyzed from the neck down, but with some intense physical therapy he was able to walk again and return to the stage a year later. He does still perform, but only sings as he can no longer play the piano professionally on stage.

I saw him this evening on a recent episode of "American Pickers." He looked as though he was doing better. I'm pretty sure that the show I saw him on was from the 2011 season. I haven't listened to this type of music since I was a kid. And after listening to a few of his songs tonight it makes me wonder why I ever stopped listening to this kind of music.
