As a North Yorkshire lad living in Tokyo, I can't wait to ride the NYMR again and to show it to my 3 year old daughter for the first time, all she knows is shinkansen trains, roll on June :)
Beautiful railway, well worth the visit. I’ve stayed nearby many-a-time, often in that row of brightly coloured cottages outside Grosmont, just a short walk from the loco shed. Always nice to see locos like the B1 and std.4 tank steaming up on our morning walks!
Brilliant railway! Been there loads of times on special events (Tornado 2018, Steam Galas 2017 & 2018, Swinging 60s 2018, went to a Diesel gala when I was younger (at the time of going I didn't know there was a diesel gala on. I was upset for the rest of the day because I desperately wanted to go on a steam train.) ( i think that's why they stopped doing them...😁)
Great! How come I've never spotted (ouch!) it before? Best wishes for this weekend; I'll be there, rain or shine, despite Northern Rail's attempts to frustrate me. Guy 🤔.
