- 1996 Lexus ES300.. Misfire on cylinder 2.. Bad fuel injector.. 6 cylinder Toyota 1MZ-FE engine..
Fuel Injector 23250-20010 used in video: www.walmart.co...
Silicone Grease: www.lowes.com/...
How do you remove the rear one on cylinder 3??
Much more difficult and time consuming to reach 1, 3 or 5 in back.. Intake manifold has to come out.. This is me replacing cylinder 1 injector two years ago: ruclips.net/video/-oAeZfr4OxI/видео.html
I'm in no way a mechanic but i was able to fix my P0302 on my 04' ES330 this weekend thanks to this video. All other sources said spark plug or coil but turned out i had zero ohms and that cleared up my issue
yeah second misfire code with my 96 ES300.. bad fuel injector both times..
@tongo117 I thought all was good on mine. I bought the cheapest fuel injector advance auto had for $45 and it's now really slow to start. I just bought a $100 fuel injector that's suppose to be here tomorrow. Hopefully that fixes my issue because the spark plug and coil I got did nothing. Either way the original fuel injector had 0 ohms
@@andrewjoe1836gotta go with Toyota original parts on mission critical parts like this otherwise you’re likely to have more problems. Buy once cry once
@@andrewjoe1836did the replacement crap out on you too?
@remogaggi82 funny you ask, yes it did, but not right away. I used a reman Denso from advance auto that worked for two days and stopped working. I got a $100 one from rock auto that lasted two weeks max. I got a used one from the junkyard and it's been good for the last 4 or 5 months. Lexus wanted $300 and they're on back order, toyota said there's won't work
Man I've been fighting random misfires for over 6 months now and this is the only mention I've seen linking a misfire directly to a fuel injecter.
I feel confident this is what I am going through.
Update? was it the injector
@Too Low YES! Car drives beautifully now since.
@@mralexlopez2012 nice!
Thx man, this helped me a lot. Had the same injector go bad. Number 2. Car runs like a champ now.
Glad to help.. 2,4,6 easy in front.. 1,3,5 not so easy.. But I have a video for that.. Replaced #1 injector a few years ago..
Great vid. Right to the point. Really nice job. Thank you. 👊
Glad to help.. Thanks for reply..
I would replace the new crush washer (it felt out) as well to prevent fuel leaks.
That was very informative thank you
You are welcome.. Thanks for reply..
Did you use any sealant on the fuel line you had disconnected?(The one w/ two washers) I've received mixed advice on whether I should use sealant on it.
I did not use sealant.. I've also replaced injectors on my 95 Accord and 05 Highlander.. Same type of fitting with two washers.. Did not use sealant on either one of those.. No leaks..
Should the fuel injectors fit snug into the intake manifold? My van is running rough. Almost all the fuel injectors are loose in the intake manifold. They should be sealed in the fuel rail and the intake manifold, correct?
What happens if my sealed are bad at the intake?
Fantastic video; thank you!
You're welcome.. Thanks for reply..
Exact same code here but a packrat clearly chewed off the wiring to #2, how do you remove that cap? That's the part I need to see done so I can splice new wire into it.
I have a 2000year model and I can hear the same clicking from the injectors when the vehicle warms up and idles. Do you think it could be an injector or is that normal?Car runs fine and no check engine light but I’m trying to see what it could be to fix it before it gets worse. Thanks for the video.
I believe some clicking from injectors is normal.. The question is, what's normal??
I think that's why I'm getting code P0302 because I changed the spark plug and the coil pack and still 96 camry V6
Very nice video.
How much would you pay for a single injector to be replaced?
I have a Highlander with the same engine. I am getting a lean condition code but also the exhaust really stinks and it idles rough sometimes. Is that more likely to be injector or coil/plug?
Probably a vacuum leak on your air intake somewhere. Additional air is coming from the leaks and not metered through the mass air flow sensor.
@@ahndeux turns out something had fallen down into the intake and was jamming an intake valve open. One in a million shot that the shop owners son with 20/20 vision just happened to look down there and thought he saw something. Got the piece out and now code is gone , smell is gone, idles and drives great. They couldn’t believe it either.
@@danwake4431 That is definitely a new one that I haven't heard of before.
Thanks man
Glad to help..
@@tongo117 it's tomorrow's problem now we changed the spark plugs, packs still got a misfire on cylinder. I'll do the injector later
@@tongo117 it should be similar to an rx300 right?
I would think so yes, similar v6 engine..
is this the same engine as a 2000 toyota sienna mine has P0300 and P0302 i tried switching the coils and plugs but still misfirimg at Cylinder 2
There should be a sticker on the underside of the hood with the engine type.. But if yours is a 6 cylinder it's likely a 1MZ FE engine like mine.. Could be the injector or plug wire on cylinder 2..
Same here 96 camry v6 changed spark plug and coil still getting code P0302
does the check engine light flash when driving the car there a miss fire on 2
Check engine light did not flash.. Just lit up and stayed on solid.. Then plugged in scanner and read code P0302..

Thanks - Hope I don't have to do that.. I would like to see you fix your Tach...(without slapping it) I used an old hair dryer and heated up the dash area - never over 150.. It kept the tach working for several months.. Does not work now without a good "bitch slap" or two....
i've thought about it but honestly don't know what to look for once I have the instrument cluster out.. for now the slap still works..
For some reason seems like these rigs always has a cylinder 2 misfire lol.
